Oda confirms (a) ancient Egypt is the direct model for Alabasta, and (b) “Nefertari” historically meant “the most beautiful” — the title attached to portraits of Egyptian queens and princesses . He admits he picked the name purely for sound but accepts the queen-lineage etymology as canonical retroactively . This is the SBS that load-bears the much-later Imu-wants-Vivi-specifically reveal — Vivi’s surname Nefertari literally encodes queen-of-queens status, and Imu’s obsession with the Nefertari lineage gets a pre-loaded etymological anchor here, 1000+ chapters before the on-page reveal.

Resolution
Partially resolved — the once-”empty” throne at the heart of the world does hold a hidden sovereign, now named and shown on-page, though its true nature stays sealed.
The Five Elders kneel to and serve a hidden sovereign seated above them — one able to strike any name from history — established when the Gorosei bow before the shadowed figure on the throne (Ch. 908 ); the seat itself, ringed by the founders’ weapons, is introduced as the “Empty Throne” the world was told none may occupy (Ch. 907 ).
The sovereign is named St. Nerona Imu, placed among the first 20 monarchs who created the World Government some 800 years ago and credited with the Devil’s Fruit — implying a roughly 800-year lifespan (Ch. 1086 , Ch. 1179 ).
Imu wields decisive, world-scale power: obliterating Lulusia with an ancient weapon (Ch. 1060 ), personally killing King Cobra in the throne chamber (Ch. 1085 ), and destroying a Five Elder from across the world for letting “Joyboy” escape (Ch. 1125 ).
Imu’s stated fixation is Vivi and the Nefertari line — “I desire Vivi” (Ch. 1179 , Ch. 1086 ).

Sommers , snail in hand, explains the superior’s presence on Elbaf: “So be it… Great Imu’s body is not meant to withstand the outside!! But even pushing past that… the strength we NEED… and the strength we ought to DESTROY are both right here!! …We must live up to his expectations, Killingham!! Do not disappoint the Great One!!” (p. 12). The horned, white-haired, dark-skinned, bat-winged figure dueling the Nidhoggr dragon wheezes and coughs throughout (“WEEZ, WEEZ…” p. 2; “KOFF! HUFF…” p. 2), speaks in Imu’s archaic register (“To think that I wouldst see thee again in this world… TRAITOR…!!”), recognizes Ragnir from “days past,” and conjures a many-eyed black ring — “Gazing… Eclipse!! ” — that rains demon-beasts (pp. 2–5). Onlookers: “he’s not one of the Five Elders … he’s clearly the superior of the Holy Knights of God ” (p. 6). Imu’s descended form (winged, horned — Imu’s OWN body per the 1179 on-page descent, not Gunko’s; see Ch. 1179 ) duels Loki over Elbaf and states its doctrine on-page: Corruption + Covenants + Omen “form the trinity… of what we call DOMINATION” (pp. 9–10); “Domination… is the only true bliss in the world!!” (p. 12). The black flames are named “Omen … my military might… a power that lurks within all things” (pp. 6–7). It wields a named greatsword, “Blade of Judgment — Nemesis ” (p. 8), fights at giant scale (p. 7), and answers Loki’s patricide accusation only with “The one who suffered the greatest setback… was Mu ” (p. 2). Loki: “a contract with the devil”; the vessel: “God? Devil? What is the difference? ” (p. 11). It screams “ISN’T THAT RIGHT?!! The “Great One” (Imu’s own descended form per @1179 — not re-captioned this chapter) lands on Elbaf in person: broadcast-flagged as “a being greater than the Knights of God ” (p. 11); worshipped by the demonized giants; obeyed instantly by Sommers (p. 10). Claims King Harald as “my faithful servant ” and hunts his killer (p. 16). Wields black flames named “Omen ” (p. 7) and a many-eyed black halo; Gaban : “Even at God Valley , I never felt Haki like this” (p. 13).
Ch. 1179 — PAGE-VERIFIED (was forward-leaked)
Imu’s face and full body revealed (pp. 15–17): horned, white-haired humanoid; black lips/nails; eye-staff sigil on the hand; dark streak down the face; ZZT static + black flame-coils. A black, slit-eyed amorphous entity “pops out” of its host (the Imu-ridden Gunko per 1174/1177; a long-haired body lies collapsed nearby — pp.4–5, 7), speaks in Imu’s archaic register (“If only thou wouldst vanish… off the face of the earth… as ROCKS did!!! ”), and personally casts the Diabolical Covenant / “DOMI… REVERSI!! ” on Luffy and Loki — greater strength for a portion of lifespan + “ye shalt hate one another” (p.5). It fails on both : “This doesn’t even hurt!!” / “As I suspected… ye are both…” (p.6, sentence unfinished). A monstrous spider-entity speaks and acts for “Mu ” at God Valley: it declares the “grievance between Mu and Davy ” (pp. 2-3), that it has been “terrified for years ” of “Davy’s will” surviving “to fulfill the promise,” and it seizes Rocks as “such a willing puppet of a king” to “erase all life… blood that must be erased from history” (pp. 3, 6). It also plans to make the Giants “soldiers to serve Mu” (p. 4). Ties Mu (vault-identified with Imu ) to a personal Void-Century vendetta against the Davy line and to bloodline-erasure as WG policy. Rocks reads God Valley as an engineered trap: the Celestial Dragons converging on his homeland were “a means to lure me into their clutches,” and “kidnapping Shakky was their fatal mistake … is pulling all of the strings behind the scenes. In the Reverie flashback, Cobra confirms he already knows Imu ’s name; Imu presides over the Empty Throne with the kneeling Five Elders , states the throne’s law (“not meant for one person’s will to sway the entire world”), delivers the D doctrine (“the D is the name of those who once opposed us… empty husks ignorant of the meaning of their name”), pins the scattered poneglyphs on Queen Lily ’s “planned?” mistake , then kills Cobra . Throne defenses manifest monstrous shadow-beast forms + a chess-named “Rook Check” (pp. 7–8). Sabo intervenes with a Fire Fist but is repelled; Wapol secretly witnesses the killing. Ch. 1084 — Imu appears before Cobra in the Empty Throne chamber (Reverie flashback)
The chapter closes with Imu appearing before Cobra Lily and the “D” — the on-page setup for Cobra’s assassination (reported Ch. 1054 /Ch. 1060 , framed on Sabo ). The decision to assassinate Vegapunk comes only “after a discussion between the Five Elders and an unknown figure ” (p. 11) — a negative-space tell of a party above the Elders (the throne’s occupant). Named only as “an unknown figure”; recorded as a seed, not asserted.
Ch. 1074 p. 17 — Imu’s stated obsession resurfaces alive and free
Nefeltari Vivi — Imu’s stated obsession (“I want Vivi”) — resurfaces alive and free in Morgans ’ World Economic Journal newsroom, the first on-page answer to her post-Reverie disappearance. She is sheltering with the press, NOT held by the WG/Imu.
Ch. 1072 p. 13 — the Seraphim command chart is topped by Im
The Seraphim authority chart (Five Elders → Vegapunk → Sentomaru → CP0 Authority Chip) is capped above all by Im: “the Seraphim is absolutely loyal to all of Im’s orders .” Confirms Im issues binding orders that override even the Five Elders in the WG’s real command structure.
The world (and the Revolutionary Army) attribute King Cobra’s death at the Reverie to Sabo (p.16) — Cobra having gone to question the WG about the Void Century and last been associated with the throne room. The framing keeps the Reverie/Imu-throne-room death an open mystery: did Sabo kill Cobra, or witness who did?
Ch. 1054 — the Reverie’s hidden hand surfaces in the world-reaction
Navy HQ processes the Reverie fallout: King Cobra murdered , Princess Vivi disappeared , the Hoof of the Celestial Dragons destroyed, and “recent events orchestrated during the kings’ return” (pp. 15-17). The WG publicly pins the murder on Sabo .
Ch. 956 p. 4, pp. 6-7 — post-Reverie: an Alabasta incident breaks + the WG suppresses Reverie news
One week after the Reverie, an “incident regarding the Kingdom of Alabasta ” involving Princess Vivi breaks; the Navy commits its full resources (p. 4). Separately, the World Government pays a CP0 agent to try to bury a Reverie-related story from the World Economic Journal (Morgans refuses, pp. 6-7) — on-page evidence of the Government actively suppressing news around the Reverie. Ch. 907 pp. 7-8 — the Empty Throne established
The central throne at the very center of the world is introduced on-page: “It is the Empty Throne!!” — none may sit upon it, its emptiness framed as “a symbol of peace,” guarded by 20 weapons placed as an oath by “the first 20 who created this world 800 years ago.” This is the establishing chapter for the seat at the heart of the Imu mystery. Ch. 113 pages 7-9 — Baroque-Works conquest-of-Alabasta template installed
Vivi narrates the Baroque-Works mission as the conquest of the Nefertari-line’s kingdom from the inside via “riots and uprisings” engineered by agents pulling the strings under a deceiving boss . The structural template is the same as the Imu / Five Elders / World-Government conquest-pattern at world-scale: external villain secretly engineers the collapse of a civilized nation from the inside; the Nefertari-D-line is the protected target. The Ch. 0113 mission-canonization installs the proto-template that re-keys at world-scale in the post-Ch.-900 chapters. Page 15: Miss Valentine’s reveal panel — “NEFELTARI VIVI!!! THE PRINCESS OF ALABASTA…” — is the first on-page utterance of the surname Nefertari and the first canonical reveal of Vivi as a royal-heir.
