Drum Island (Ch. 153) — sits in the wreck of his own cannon; grudging awe at the cherry-blossom miracle

• Slumped in the wreck of his Royal Drum Crown 7-Shot Tin Tyrant Cannon (p. 17). Slim-form, eyes wide, drooling, defeated.
• What wonders fools create… it’s like a dream. The deposed tyrant’s last on-page utterance in the arc is grudging awe at his rival’s miracle-cure paying off (“KAK KAK KAK KAK KAK… what wonders fools create… it’s like a dream…”). The kingdom’s old order has no answer to a 30-year-old doctor’s red-powder cannon-barrage. Wapol’s combat-arc is structurally complete; his political-collapse is on-page-implied.
• Mirrors his Ch. 150 cannon-with-snowbird-nest deflation. Wapol’s ultimate weapon misfired into snowbirds; Kureha’s parapet-cannons fire Hiriluk’s life-work. The chapter inverts Wapol’s iconography exactly: the tyrant’s broken-cannon-and-bird-nest becomes the doctor’s working-cannon-and-cherry-blossoms.

• The weapons-room key, Dalton confirms, went flying with him (p. 13) — Dalton: “Wapol always kept that key on his person. If that’s still true, then it went flying with him.” The Ch. 150 Nami-pickpocket subplot closes here: the Ch. 152 castle-side characters still believe the key went into the sky with Wapol (Nami reveals her possession to Kureha p. 14, but Dalton’s working assumption stays Wapol-launched-with-key).

Drum Island (Ch. 151) — Tongue Cannon body-mutation debut; international crime WG-member doctrine; Bazooka/Vice King escalation

• Wapol invokes Drum Kingdom is a member of the World Government / international crime doctrine (p. 6): “The Drum Kingdom is…ugh!!…a member of the World Government! You’ve committed an international crime!!!”. First on-page articulation of Drum’s WG-member status — Wapol still claims juridical legitimacy through the WG, even as a deposed king. • Wapol Tongue-Cannon — Munch-Munch Mutation body-weapon mutation debuts in actual combat (pp. 7-8). Wapol attempts to swallow Luffy whole (“Just try and eat me!”); when Luffy grabs his head, Wapol mutates his tongue into a metal-barreled cannon (TWOING…!!) and fires it down his own throat at Luffy point-blank: “Not yet!! Munch-Munch Mutation!!! TONGUE CANNON!!!” (CHUNK!). First on-page one body part replaced with a weapon mutation — joins Ch. 147 object-fusion and Ch. 150 self-cannibalize into a complete Baku-Baku trifecta. Drum Island (Ch. 150) — homecoming to empty castle; Slim-Down debut; cannon misfires into snowbirds

• Arrives at Drum Castle to find it abandoned. Wapol’s party climbs to the castle peak and discovers the kingdom-seat utterly empty (“WAPOL’S… GONE!!! …GONE!!!”, p. 2). On the steps Wapol erupts: “Is this my Drum Castle!? What happened!!? …What have they done… to my castle!!!” (p. 4). The tyrant-king’s homecoming-bewilderment register — structural inverse of his Ch. 135 rapturous “Unchanging, ever-beautiful nature!!!” landing. • Pickpocketed by Nami on the castle stairs (pp. 5-7). Nami plays innocent (“I’m just a navigator who’s passing through.”), shoves Wapol down a long flight of stairs (BOO!! …LIAR!!!), and lifts the key to his arsenal off his coat in the contact. Wapol does not realize until much later (p. 12: “The key to the door of fear!!.. it’s gone!!”).
• Wapol Slim-Down — first on-page Baku Baku no Mi self-cannibalize / fusion-body demonstration (pp. 7-8). Trapped and out of nearby food, Wapol triggers “THE MUNCH-MUNCH FACTORY!!!” and eats himself — “I’ll just eat myself!!” (CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP!!). Reduces to a stout metal bucket form (“H-he turned into a bucket!!”), then re-emerges as a thin, tall, long-haired “Wapol slim-down!!!” — “My miraculous physique restoration technique!!” First on-page proof that the Baku Baku no Mi self-cannibalizes and re-fuses into new physiques. • The Royal Drum Crown 7-Shot Tin Tyrant Cannon — Wapol’s named ultimate weapon (pp. 15-16). A crown-topped, six-chambered revolver-cannon caption-named “The Royal Drum Crown 7-Shot Tin Tyrant Cannon!!!”. Wapol levels it at Luffy: “I’ve got you now! • The cannon misfires — snowbird nest deflation (pp. 16-18). Cannon hisses (FSSS…) and disgorges a flock of white “GWOOGLE!” birds. Luffy: “SNOWBIRDS!” / Wapol: “A NEST!!?”. Drum Island (Ch. 149) — fights Chopper at Drum Castle; states the Zoan three-stage rule

• First sustained on-page combat — fights Chopper at the snowy spires of Drum Castle, with Kuromarimo as ranged backup (pp. 2-17).
• Identifies Chopper as a Zoan (pp. 4-5): “So you’ve eaten one of the Devil Fruit, eh!” / “A half-beast, like Dalton!! You’re a reindeer-man!!” — the line also plants that Dalton is a Zoan (the bull-bison Zoan is forward-canon). See Dalton Is A Zoan Half-Beast Like Chopper Tell.

Drum Island (Ch. 148) — flag-shoot-down at Drum Castle; vaporize-the-wounded escalation; defeated by Luffy at the castle

• At Drum Castle for the first time on-page (pp. 5-17) — visibly aggressive about a pirate flag flying beside the castle. “Mwa ha ha ha!! There’s no meaning to a stupid pirate rag!!!” / “Fool!! I’m the king!! I’d never fly a pirate flag except as a joke!!! I’ll keep shooting that silly rag down until it stays down!!!! I told you, this is my kingdom!!!!” — implies he has shot down this same flag repeatedly (matches Sanji’s “CRAP!!! NOT AGAIN!!?” recognition-tell on p. 7).
• Blasts Chopper-defending-the-flag with cannon (p. 7, KA-BLOOM): “I blasted him to pieces!!!” — believes he has killed the reindeer who defended the flag.

• Declares the true-power line (p. 6, mounted on Robson in silhouette galloping away from the castle): ‘I’ll show them… the true power of the Munch-Munch Fruit!!!’ — the chapter’s name-card. Wapol’s escalation-tier announces itself.
• MUNCH-MUNCH MUTATION — first on-page named technique of the Baku Baku no Mi (p. 7). Wapol eats his own breakfast — ‘one cannon sautéed in butter, one fresh cannon, a bomb, and an explosive salad. And in the village, you had one grilled house.’ — and mutates his body into a fortified Wapol House (cannon-turret arms, chimney, doors, fortified body-walls). • MUNCH-MUNCH FACTORY — second on-page named technique (pp. 9-10). Wapol eats his own subordinates Chess and Kuromarimo whole (KRUNCH!! KRACH!! K-RUNCH!!). The villagers cry ‘CANNIBAL!!! Wapol ejects the swallowed officers as a single fused multi-being officer — Chess’s body forms the archer-frame; Kuromarimo’s afro/pom-pom heads ride piggyback stacked on top. ‘I am… the mightiest warrior in Drum Kingdom…!!!’ First on-page Devil-Fruit-induced multi-being fusion in the series. • Pronounces the First Article of the Drum Kingdom’s Constitution (p. 12): ‘Whosoever defies the king’s wishes shall die’ — declared the foremost law of the land. Pre-existing legal regime under Wapol’s restored monarchy; absolute-monarchy doctrine canonized. • Destroys Hiriluk’s Jolly Roger flying above Drum Castle (p. 12, p. 17): ‘It ruins the whole look!!! That quack doctor’s flag must come down!!!’ (KRASH!!). The cannon-blast of the flag is the chapter’s emotional pivot for Chopper — Luffy turns to Chopper immediately: ‘Hey, reindeer, that flag…’. Wapol’s tyrant-iconoclasm (Ch. 141 burned-flag, Ch. 141 mausoleum-decree, Ch. 145 self-detonation-mockery) cashes into the on-page erasure of the Hiriluk emblem. Drum Island (Ch. 146) — arrives at Drum Castle; Munch-Munch Factory cliffhanger

• Arrives at Drum Castle and finds it occupied by Kureha, Chopper, and a recovering Nami, under Hiriluk’s pirate-flag — his banner of faith (pp. 2-9). The Ch. 134/135 deposed-tyrant-returns cliffhanger now reaches its operational endpoint inside the castle itself.
• Charges the castle screaming (GRAAH!! KING WAPOL!!!, pp. 2-3) and immediately takes a Sanji counter-kick (SHWOOOO) and a Luffy head-butt (DOOM!!, pp. 3-4). His quilted body absorbs Luffy’s punches (VWOB VWOB CHANK, p. 6) — “You maggots!! You have incurred my wrath!! I’ll eat you alive!!!” — and then he immediately leaves to put on warmer clothes (p. 6). Tyrant-comedic register: the king interrupts his own grand return-to-the-throne battle for outerwear.
• Believes Dalton is dead (p. 7): “Once we take care of them… nothing will stand in our way. Dalton is dead. All that’s left is that old insurgent witch… and the Straw Hat gang.” — the witch + insurgent + Straw Hats triad is the entire local resistance to his restoration in his own framing. • Names Kureha as his first target (p. 10): “For turning this sacred castle into a memorial to that bumbling quack… you’ll die first, Dr. Kureha!!!” — orders Kuromarimo to launch Marimo’s Static Cling.
• Gets kicked off the castle wall by Luffy’s Air Assault (with Chopper as Luffy’s foot-anchor, pp. 15-17): KREEK / THWAK / OOF — flies off the wall with his mount Robson (WHAM / MOOO / WOOOOO, pp. 17-18).
• Returns at chapter’s end with the Munch-Munch Factory threat (p. 19, HISS): “AH! I’ll kill them!!! Drum Island (Ch. 145) — flashback: Wapol’s pre-deposition reign and the execution of Hiriluk

• First on-page appearance as the seated monarch of Drum (p. 17) — Wapol on his throne declaring “This is my kingdom!! My word is law!!! Bwah ha ha ha… I’m surrounded by halfwits!!” The Ch. 133 worst king ever characterization is shown rather than told.
• Orchestrates a doctor-purge trap. Summons Hiriluk to the castle on the pretext that twenty doctors are sick; the patients are Wapol’s robed guards, the courtyard ringed in a kill-circle (pp. 2-3). “It was a trap!!! As you can see, the twenty doctors are all quite healthy!” The disobeying the king charge against Hiriluk has been outstanding long enough that Wapol gloats “You’ve eluded us long enough!!!” — implying a multi-instance pattern of doctor-persecution under his reign.
• Wapol mocks Hiriluk’s death. When Hiriluk self-detonates, Wapol laughs: “He blew himself up!!! What a raving lunatic!!! Serves him right!” (pp. 10-11) — the cruelty-plus-aestheticization tyrant-register seeded in Ch. 135 deepens here into mockery of a regime-victim’s suicide.
• Wapol uses the Baku Baku no Mi mid-rage — pp. 14-15 — head-distending into a metal-toothed maw as he screams “MEDICINE CAN’T CURE STUPIDITY!!!!” at Dalton. The fruit is shown as a fight-or-rage manifestation, not just a passive eating-power.
• Wapol’s tyranny formula made explicit. “Beg my forgiveness and you may live, Dalton. …My word is law!!!” (p. 17) — the threat-grammar that explains why the populace later (Ch. 134) cite restoration-of-monarchy as the thing they fear most.

Drum Island (Ch. 142) — flashback; ruler of Drum Kingdom at the World Council; refuses to join the Dragon-hunt

• First on-page Wapol-as-reigning-king appearance (pre-deposition). Returning to Drum Castle in a paddlewheel carriage (VRUM…) declaring “NOW WHAT EDICT SHALL I ISSUE TODAY!!?” (p. 4). Captioned Ruler of Drum Kingdom (p. 6).
• At the World Council at Mariejois (pp. 5-7). Chess presents him Dragon’s portrait and the WG’s 5-6 year threat-projection. Wapol refuses to participate: “Count me out of this. If you want to catch him, do it yourselves. Drum Kingdom would never succumb to some two-bit revolutionary!! Hmph!! Ridiculous!! • Bullies 8-year-old Princess Vivi as he leaves (p. 7): bumps into her, calls her “the unfortunate daughter of that worthless fool”. Vivi swallows her anger. Wapol smirks: “Irritating brat!! Come, Dalton!” — the trivial-cruelty-toward-the-child beat that confirms his moral compactness.
• Verifies the load-bearing dramatic-irony arc-shape: Wapol refuses collective WG-security and his kingdom is later annihilated by exactly the real-pirate-tier threat (Blackbeard) the WG was trying to prepare for. • Wapol’s regime persecutes Hiriluk (off-stage, pp. 13-15) — the Drum Security Force opens fire on Hiriluk and Chopper. Drum Island (Ch. 141) — Doctor Hunt named; Drum Castle confrontation; mausoleum for Hiriluk

• Reaches Drum Castle and finds his own flag burned, a pirate-flag flying in its place. Wapol’s officer (p. 6): “There’s a strange flag flying from the spire!! … A pirate flag!!? What happened to the flag of Drum Kingdom!!?” Wapol (p. 6): “So, Dr. Kureha, it’s you!! The last survivor of the great Doctor Hunt!!! You just won’t die, will you!!?”
• First on-page articulation of the great Doctor Hunt — Wapol’s purge of all non-Twenty doctors. Kureha is named as the last survivor of the great Doctor Hunt (p. 6); the flashback (pp. 11-13) shows Wapol’s Twenty Doctors state-licensed cadre and the security force that hunts non-Twenty practitioners. • Wapol’s pre-coup vassals drop the survivor-villager facade and re-don their uniforms the moment he lands (pp. 6-7). In Big Horn, uniformed Wapol-loyalists corner the civilians demanding to dig out the buried Dalton: “We’re King Wapol’s vassals!! You used to serve under him!! Don’t you even care!!?” / “To defy him is death!!!” / “Anybody that doesn’t like it can take us on…”. Wapol’s tyranny is sustained by a fear-coerced civilian-vassal network embedded in the villages, not a standing army — the restoration is fast because the people who quietly served him never went away. Drum Island (Ch. 138) — confronts the Straw Hats on the mountainside; snow-country combat doctrine articulated

• Catches the Straw Hats on the Drum mountainside, mounted on Robson (pp. 2-9). Wapol enters combat exclusively from Robson’s back — never on foot. First on-page Wapol-in-combat-on-Robson beat; see Wapol Mounted Robson Combat-Beast Use Debut. His combat-disposition: a deposed king who refuses physical exertion.
• Decrees a new royal law (p. 2): “AHA! I just thought of a new law. Chess!! Write this down. …Anyone who ignores the king, dies!” — re-asserts his absolute-monarch register in real time. He then orders Chess to begin executions: “Start by killing the two who ignored me the most — the sick one and the injured one!!!” (p. 3).

Faced with the avalanche heading for Bighorn, Wapol calls Robson into “serious mode” (the Wooly Hippo rises onto its hind legs into a fast-running mount) and orders his officers to flee — refusing villagers’ begs to ride (“King Wapol, can we ride too?” / “Silence!!! Fend for yourselves”). Rides Robson out of the disaster zone with Chess and Kuromarimo while his subjects are left exposed. The Wapol’s father / former king of Drum lineage is a major forward-canon hook: it establishes Wapol’s tyranny as inherited monarchy gone wrong, and pairs the Drum arc into the Alabasta-saga good-king-corrupted-by-bad-heir pattern.

Drum Island (Ch. 135) — lands on Drum; “a king once again”; orders the Straw Hats killed

Drum Island (Ch. 133) — named as the deposed worst king ever

• Named off-page by Dalton as the deposed king of the former Drum Kingdom — “the king’s name was Wapol!! He was the worst king ever!!!” (p. 18). Dalton recounts that under Wapol’s rule “the people were very unhappy”; some Drum citizens consider the kingdom’s fall to pirates “a blessing” because it ended his tyranny.
• The Drum Kingdom was conquered a few months before the Straw Hats’ arrival by Blackbeard’s five-pirate crew; with the monarchy gone the country lost its name. Wapol is, as of this chapter, deposed and at large — not dead.
