Firsts
  • Luffy tells the WHOLE crew his ultimate dream for the first time — but the words are WITHHELD from the reader; we see only the crew's reaction (laughter, awe) and Luffy recalling that Ace, Sabo and Shanks all laughed (Shanks in tears) when he told them as a child
  • The Reverie-aftermath newspaper: Sabo is accused of assassinating King Cobra of Alabasta; Princess Vivi has gone missing in Marijoa; the Revolutionary Army has declared war on the Celestial Dragons; Buggy is now an 'Emperor of the Sea'; the Cross Guild has formed; high-level pirates are unleashed; the Seven Warlords system is dissolved
  • Sabo (alive) calls the Revolutionary Army at the Kamabakka Queendom (Dragon and Ivankov present) and confirms he did NOT assassinate King Cobra — then begins 'but when I was in Marijoa...' before the call is traced and cut
  • The Marines trace Sabo's transponder-snail signal to the Kingdom of Lulusia, one of the eight nations that recently revolted
  • The occupant of the Empty Throne at Pangaea Castle (a giant eye/shadow) monologues that there is 'no King of the World' and that such a king 'never existed in the first place,' orders surveillance to detect nothing — and an enormous object falls from the sky and annihilates the entire Kingdom of Lulusia, triggering a seaquake/tsunami
  • King Seki and Princess Comane of Lulusia — who had captured World Nobles and declared independence — are shown moments before the kingdom is erased
  • Robin states the crew needs only ONE more Road Poneglyph to reach Laugh Tale, but there are no clues to its whereabouts and no one has found it for a very long time
  • Days later the Straw Hats sail a frigid winter sea toward an unknown island; an enormous warm-water eddy rises and a small child pops out — Worst Generation 'The Glutton' Jewelry Bonney, bounty 320,000,000

Summary

Aboard the Thousand Sunny, the Straw Hats pore over the Reverie-fallout newspaper and reel at the headlines: their friend Sabo is accused of assassinating Alabasta’s King Cobra, Princess Vivi has vanished in Marijoa, the Revolutionary Army has declared war on the Celestial Dragons, Buggy is now an Emperor, the Cross Guild has formed, and the Seven Warlords system is abolished. Zoro reins in Luffy’s impulse to charge off and rescue everyone, and the talk turns to Luffy’s lifelong dream — which he finally tells the entire crew, though the reader never hears it; we see only the crew laughing and marveling, and Luffy recalling that Ace, Sabo and Shanks laughed too (Shanks in tears) when he told them as a boy. Robin notes only one Road Poneglyph remains to reach Laugh Tale, but its location is a total mystery. The scene cuts to the Kamabakka Queendom, where a relieved Dragon and Ivankov take Sabo’s call: he swears he did not kill Cobra and starts to describe what he saw “when I was in Marijoa” — but the Marines trace his signal to the rebel Kingdom of Lulusia and cut him off. At Pangaea Castle, the shadowy occupant of the Empty Throne declares there is no King of the World — that such a king never existed in the first place — and an enormous object drops from the sky, erasing the entire Kingdom of Lulusia (King Seki, Princess Comane and all) and raising a seaquake. Days later, sailing into a winter sea, the Straw Hats meet a giant warm-water eddy from which a small child bursts: the Worst Generation pirate Jewelry Bonney.
