- Firsts
- Imu names GOD VALLEY and ROCKS in its own voice: 'I failed to foresee what would become... of those mere children at God Valley... I should have eliminated all of it... along with Rocks... on that day years ago!!' — Imu frames the God Valley purge as its own unfinished business
- Scopper Gaban has lost an ARM to Imu's blade Honebami — 'The Left Arm of the Pirate King' is now literally one-armed, but survives
- VIZ CONFIRMS Honebami is IMU'S weapon, not Gaban's — Imu: 'An impressive feat... to escape Honebami's wrath at the cost of only one arm...' (p.9) and shouts 'HONE-BAMI...' swinging it (p.10); this resolves the wielder flag raised in the 1190 note
- Gaban on what Imu is: 'Who he is... is not something anyone ought to know!! If I had to call him anything, it'd be... ...God.'
- Gaban declares Imu IMMORTAL — 'But he's immortal. There's no way to win...'
- Imu's descended body is visibly CRACKING on-page (CRIK/CRAK across face and limbs p.6; HSSS~ CRIK CRIK p.13) — the first on-page manifestation of the @1182 'Great Imu's body is not meant to withstand the outside'
- Hajrudin joins the duel, re-deploys his Dressrosa spear technique GUNGNIR (first used @0770), is blasted down, and gives the chapter its title: 'But if I die... there's still Loki!!'
- Gear-5 cost tell: Luffy — 'If I go out of this form... it's gonna be... bad news...'
- Biblo the owl saved every book in the Owl Library and is now hooting insistently — 'It seems like he's tryin' to tell us something, but I can't tell what it is!!' — Chopper is asked to translate
- New named giant attack GOKOKU SOVEREIGNTY, called out as a TRIPLE version — the same '-koku Sovereignty' naming family as Dorry & Brogy's Hakoku Sovereignty

Summary
In the Underworld of Elbaph, a battered Gear-5 Luffy (“if I go out of this form… it’s gonna be… bad news…”) watches the old man who shielded him crash down: Scopper Gaban has escaped Imu’s blade with his life but lost an arm — “He got my arm!!” Luffy apologizes; Gaban snaps that he wasn’t fighting for Luffy at all (“I’ve lost my hope in you… I was fighting for Elbaph’s sake!!”). Asked who their enemy is, Gaban gives the chapter’s coldest line — “Who he is… is not something anyone ought to know!! If I had to call him anything, it’d be… …God.” Imu’s true form tears the Underworld’s mountain range open and, wheezing, speaks its own regret out loud: “Crew of the King of the Pirates… I failed to foresee what would become… of those mere children at God Valley… I should have eliminated all of it… along with Rocks… on that day years ago!!” — and its face and limbs visibly crack as it says it. A cut to the Owl Library in Sun World finds Robin and Usopp relieved that Biblo the owl saved every book — but Biblo will not stop hooting, and a giant asks Chopper to translate what the owl is so desperate to say. Back below, Imu compliments Gaban (“an impressive feat… to escape Honebami’s wrath at the cost of only one arm…”) and promises “there will be nothing left of thee after the next” — at which point the giants pile in. Hajrudin spears Imu’s black Omen manifestation with GUNGNIR, a giant’s round shield takes the counter-blow, and Gaban — refusing to run, “I made sure to fight on a full stomach!!” — orders the giants to get Straw Hat off Elbaph because “he’s immortal. There’s no way to win…” Hajrudin is smashed anyway, and grins out the title: “But if I die… there’s still Loki!!” Two more giants charge in (“Square up!!” / “That’s right, brother!!!”), Luffy re-inflates in Gear 5 (“I’m all better too!!”) and winds up — “GUM-GUM…” — and the chapter ends mid-callout on a combined strike: ”…TRIPLE GENERAL… …GOKOKU SOVEREIGNTY!”
New reveals
- Imu speaks about God Valley in the first person (pp. 5–6). “Crew of the King of the Pirates… huff, huff… I failed to foresee what would become… of those mere children at God Valley… I should have eliminated all of it… along with Rocks… on that day years ago!!” Imu frames God Valley as its own operation and treats the survival of “those mere children” — the generation that produced Roger’s crew, of which Gaban is a member — as the mistake that produced the present crisis.
- Gaban’s name for Imu: “God.” “Who he is… is not something anyone ought to know!! If I had to call him anything, it’d be… …God.” (p. 4). Delivered over the caption panel “THE UNDERWORLD.”
- Gaban says Imu is immortal. “But he’s immortal. There’s no way to win…” / “Help Straw Hat Luffy escape!!” (p. 13). Weighty because Gaban is precisely the man whose blade did negate the Holy Knights’ immortality (Gaban’s Blade Negates the Holy Knights’ Immortality) — and he does not claim it works here.
- Gaban has lost an arm. “Huff, huff… URGH!! Dammit… He got my arm!!” (p. 3); Imu: “an impressive feat… to escape Honebami’s wrath at the cost of only one arm…” (p. 9); a giant: “He took off your arm?!” (p. 13). Gaban jokes about it — “I’d give ya a round of applause, but… you know…” (p. 9). He insists he is “healing up my wounds right now!!” and “made sure to fight on a full stomach” (p. 14).
- Honebami is Imu’s blade — VIZ-confirmed. The 1190 note flagged the wielder as uncertain (TCB read it as Gaban’s). Here Imu owns it twice: “to escape Honebami’s wrath” (p. 9) and the swing callout “HONE-BAMI…” (p. 10). ⚑ Provenance trailer: VIZ supersedes the 1190 TCB reading.
- Imu’s body is cracking. Fracture lines run across Imu’s face and black limbs with CRIK/CRAK sound effects (p. 6) and again as “HSSS~…” / CRIK CRIK (p. 13). This is the first shown deterioration since Sommers’ Ch. 1182 line that “Great Imu’s body is not meant to withstand the outside.”
- Imu again acknowledges Gaban’s pedigree — “Crew of the King of the Pirates…” (p. 5), continuing the @1190 “STILL THE PIRATE KING’S CREW, EVEN DECREPIT…” (1190 p. 14).
- Hajrudin enters the fight and re-uses GUNGNIR (p. 11) — the same named spear technique he used at Dressrosa Ch. 770, now driven into Imu’s black Omen manifestation. He is blasted down (p. 15), refuses to withdraw (“Our warriors are always prepared to die in glorious battle!!” / “Remember, Mr. Ya… Elbaph will never give in!!”), and delivers the title line: “But if I die… there’s still Loki!!” (p. 16).
- A new “-koku Sovereignty” attack. The chapter ends on a combined callout split across panels — “GUM-GUM…” (Luffy, p. 16) → ”…TRIPLE GENERAL…” → ”…GOKOKU SOVEREIGNTY!” (p. 17). “Sovereignty” is the VIZ suffix used for Dorry & Brogy’s signature twin-strike Hakoku Sovereignty (Ch. 129, Ch. 1079, Ch. 1144) — so this is a triple variant in the same Elbaf naming family.
- Gear-5 has a stated cost. Luffy, hunched and steaming: “If I go out of this form… it’s gonna be… bad news… huff, huff…” (p. 3). Later he claims the opposite — “I’m all better too!!” (p. 16).
- Biblo is trying to say something. At the Owl Library’s rear entrance tunnel: “Yes… Biblo saved them all…” (Robin) / “All the books are fine, then!!” (Usopp) — but Biblo hoots insistently, and a giant tells Chopper: “It seems like he’s tryin’ to tell us something, but I can’t tell what it is!! … I was hopin’ you could talk to Biblo for us.” (p. 7).
VIZ localization notes (this batch reverses the 1188–1190 TCB posture)
- The island is spelled “Elbaph” in VIZ dialogue (pp. 3, 9, 15). The vault’s canonical path stays
[[Locations/Elbaf]]; record “Elbaph” as the VIZ on-page spelling. - The two realms are captioned “THE UNDERWORLD” (p. 4) and “SUN WORLD” (p. 7) — i.e. VIZ uses the vault’s existing
[[Locations/The Underworld]]/[[Locations/Sun World]]names, not the TCB-sourced “Realm of the Dead” / “Realm of the Sun” recorded at 1190. - “Mr. Ya” is the VIZ form of Gaban’s Elbaf alias (pp. 13, 15), matching the vault.
- “Honebami” survives into VIZ as a name — but as Imu’s blade.

Notable panels
- Pages 1–2 — Full-colour double-page spread, captioned “Soul never ages!!!” The Straw Hats reimagined as a 1970s soul/funk band: Brook front and centre as a giant skull in purple shades and a black turtleneck singing into a chrome mic; Nami in headphones and tinted glasses; Usopp belting into a mic in a bush hat; Zoro swigging a bottle; Chopper with a green afro and tambourine; Robin in an orange shawl and blue shades; a blue-afro’d Franky in a black jacket over a polka-dot shirt (the bone-white skeletal hand gripping the chrome mic at the right edge of p. 1 is Brook’s own — segmented finger bones, sleeved in his black turtleneck); plus a red-afro’d Luffy roaring into a mic in a paisley shirt (uncaptioned, but his under-the-left-eye scar is drawn beneath the right lens of his red-and-yellow shades, p. 1), a green-afro’d Jinbe in yellow spiral shades behind Franky’s pointing arm (blue-grey skin, triangular shark teeth, p. 2), and a maroon-suited guitarist in a white ruffled shirt — almost certainly Sanji (p. 2, top left: the suit, the hair falling over one eye, and the last crewmate unaccounted for once the other nine are placed) and a backing chorus of cats, chicks and a green crocodile on their own microphones. Rainbow-and-stars psychedelia background. Credits strip: “Translation: Stephen Paul · Lettering: Vanessa Satone.” Logged as Soul never ages!!! — the Straw Hats as a 70s soul band. (No reader-request cover story this chapter.)
- Page 3 — Title drop: “CHAPTER 1191: THERE’S STILL LOKI.” Opening panels of a battered figure in the canopy: “…am I still alive…?!” / “Huff, huff… why…” then “If I go out of this form… it’s gonna be… bad news…” (the form line pins the speaker as Gear-5 Luffy; the first panel is uncaptioned). Wide Elbaf-canopy shot as something falls: “HEY!! OLD MAN…!!” / “OLD MAN GUY!!” — DOOM!! Bottom: Luffy “Sorry! It’s only because you were defending me…”; Gaban “Don’t be stupid!! I’ve lost my hope in you… KOFF!! I was fighting for Elbaph’s sake!!” and “He got my arm!!”
- Page 4 — Gaban collapses (THWUD!!). Luffy: “Who is he?!” → GRP! → “Who he is… is not something anyone ought to know!!” / “If I had to call him anything, it’d be…” → caption box “THE UNDERWORLD” over splitting mountains: ”…GOD.”
- Page 5 — Imu’s beast-form roars (GRORR/GRRRR) with ZZT static crackle; the Underworld range shears apart (THWUD). Then Imu’s true form, wheezing: “Crew of the King of the Pirates…” / “I failed to foresee what would become…” / “…of those mere children at God Valley…”
- Page 6 — “I should have eliminated all of it… …along with Rocks… …on that day years ago!!” Imu’s face and black arms crack (CRIK / CRAK) — then BOOM.
- Page 7 — Caption “OWL LIBRARY, SUN WORLD / REAR ENTRANCE TUNNEL.” Robin: “Yes… Biblo saved them all…”; Usopp: “All the books are fine, then!! / Oh, I’m so glad!!”; Biblo hoots insistently; “Really? I just assumed Biblo was a silent owl…”; a giant: “It seems like he’s tryin’ to tell us something, but I can’t tell what it is!! / So here’s the thing, Chopper!! I was hopin’ you could talk to Biblo for us.”
- Page 8 — ZZT fissures race across the canopy; Gaban and Luffy are flung (“AAAGH!!” / “YEOWWW!!!”); a giant crashes into the battlefield (DOOM!!) — ”?!!”
- Page 9 — Splash of Imu’s true form: horns, streaming white hair, a skull-motif robe and an eye-studded sash, black wing-limbs, bone-white blade in hand. “AN IMPRESSIVE FEAT… / …to escape Honebami’s wrath at the cost of only one arm…” / “There will be nothing left of thee after the next…” Giants cut in: “Hey, you’re steppin’ on my line!!” / “I couldn’t just let you get off free after an attack like that!!” / “Is that him?! But he looks different!!” Gaban: “Take your people and get off Elbaph now, Straw Hat!!” and “I’d give ya a round of applause, but… you know…”
- Page 10 — Gaban and Luffy trade “you’re useless” (“You’re a dead man walking here!!” / “So are you!! You can’t fight like that!!” / “KOFF…!! You know I can’t do that!!”). Imu swings: “HONE-BAMI…” Luffy: “OLD MAN GUY!!!” / “You can’t do it!! RUN!!” STOMP!!
- Page 11 — Hajrudin drives a spear through Imu’s black Omen mass — “GUNGNIR!!!” (WHAM!) — while another giant shouts “HAJRUDIN!!”; Imu ”?!!”; the Omen mass grins and swells (FWUM), a giant screams “NRRAA-AAHHH!”
- Page 12 — The counter-blow is caught on a giant’s round shield bearing a crossed-bones “X” and four dots (GONNNG!!), and the force is deflected in a long beam across the forest — BOOM!! A small black-cloaked figure (Gaban) is knocked along the treetops.
- Page 13 — Imu coughs (KOFF!) and its form hisses and cracks (HSSS~ / CRIK CRIK) as a giant’s helmet crumbles; “You’ll never get me with that one again!!” Then: “Thanks for the help, Hajrudin…” / “He took off your arm?!” / “Mr. Ya!! How can this be?!” and Gaban’s order, read right-to-left: “But he’s immortal. There’s no way to win…” / “Help Straw Hat Luffy escape!!”
- Page 14 — Gaban: “I’m healing up my wounds right now!!” / “I’m not runnin’ away!!” / “I made sure to fight on a full stomach!! Don’t worry… I can do this!!”; Luffy: “What nonsense are you talking?!” / “That’s not real logic!! You can’t keep fighting, it’s clear!!”; Hajrudin hauls Luffy back (“Hey, stay outta this!! / Straw hat!!”). Luffy is dragged off (SKRRSH) — “WHOA!!” / “OH… bombs.”
- Page 15 — Hajrudin takes a devastating hit — “GAAAHH!!!” / “HAJRUDIN!!” (DOOOM!!). “Our warriors are always prepared to die in glorious battle!!” / “Remember, Mr. Ya… Elbaph will never give in!!” vs Gaban’s “Don’t be stupid! You will die!!” / “Pull back so we can come up with a plan, Hajrudin!!” / “Here he comes!!”
- Page 16 — Hajrudin, grinning under his helm: “But if I die… …there’s still Loki!!” Then “LOKI?!” / “SQUARE UP!!” as two more giants charge in — one bare-fisted in a horned viking helm over rib-plated armour, one shouldering a great battle-axe in a white fur mantle: “That’s right, brother!!!” (Neither is captioned or clearly face-framed — see Open questions.) Luffy re-inflates in Gear 5: “I’m all better too!! / And look!! / PWAH!!” (BAAAM!) and winds his arms back (GRRK) — “GUM-GUM…” Gaban: “What’s wrong with these guys?!”
- Page 17 — Four-face strip (Imu; two grinning giants; Gear-5 Luffy) → ”…TRIPLE GENERAL…” → full-width impact panel, ”…GOKOKU SOVEREIGNTY!” (DOOOM!!). “To be continued!”
Open questions raised
- Who are the two giants who charge in on p. 16? Neither is named or face-captioned. The closing ”…Gokoku Sovereignty!” sits in the same VIZ naming family as Dorry & Brogy’s signature twin-strike Hakoku Sovereignty, and “TRIPLE” implies a three-way version — a strong inference that the arrivals are Dorry and Brogy (last seen Ch. 1178, and Brogy fights with an axe). Not asserted: no caption, no clear face. The composition mirror filed from this chapter is about the attack, not the wielders — see Hakoku Sovereignty Spear Of Elbaf Named Attack § Gōkoku composition. Advance no character scalar.*
- Who exactly executes “Triple General… Gokoku Sovereignty”? The callout is split across panels with no individual speech attribution — Luffy’s “GUM-GUM…” leads, but whether the “triple” counts Luffy or three giants is unstated.
- What was Imu’s God-Valley objective, exactly? “I should have eliminated all of it… along with Rocks” — all of what? A lineage, a place, a crew, or a bloodline? (GUARD: Imu’s nature/origin.)
- Why is Imu’s body cracking now — the outside-world limit from @1182, damage from Gaban/Hajrudin, or something the descent itself costs? Does Imu retreat, or does the shell break?
- What is Biblo trying to say? (p. 7) And can Chopper actually translate an owl?
- In what sense is Imu “immortal” (Gaban, p. 13) — the Holy-Knight covenant immortality Gaban’s blade already negated, or a different order of thing?
- Where is Loki? Named twice but not shown; he has been off-panel since Ch. 1189.
- Which arm did Gaban lose, and does “the Left Arm of the Pirate King” losing an arm land as motif (cf. Shanks) or as mechanics?
