Chapter 956: Big News

Summary

A world-stage interlude one week after the Reverie. Garp escorts the Ryugu royals home to Fish-Man Island and reflects on how fraught the kings’ summit was; Neptune begs his people not to fear humans even as news breaks of an incident in Alabasta involving Princess Vivi, the Navy mobilizing fully to address it (p. 4). At Marijoa, the heads of state depart, and at the World Economic Journal, President Morgans refuses a government bribe to bury a story, beats up the CP0 agent on his payroll, and — armed with leaked intel from King Wapol — broadcasts the “big news” worldwide (pp. 5-8). The first bombshell: a report linking Sabo to events at Marijoa, with a fatality cited, throwing the Revolutionary Army (Koala, Kamabakka HQ), Dadan, Sabo’s brother King Stelly of Goa, Makino’s village, and even Impel Down’s prisoners into shock (pp. 8-10). The second: Koby (a Navy Rear Admiral) and X Drake — both revealed as members of the secret Navy unit SWORD, Drake undercover in Kaido’s crew — discuss the stagnant Wano situation, the Kaido–Big Mom development, and CP0’s appearance in Wano (pp. 11-13). The defining headline: the dissolution of the Seven Warlords system, passed by majority vote at the Reverie. The Navy immediately moves to arrest the now-titleless former Warlords — Buggy (who plans to flee), Mihawk (who relishes the hunt), Edward Weevil, and Boa Hancock — while Blackbeard plots to claim them as prizes (pp. 13-17).
