Profile

The long-unseen sovereign behind the Empty Throne — no longer unseen: face revealed Ch. 1179. One of the founding Twenty kings who defeated the Great Kingdom in the Void Century. Possesses the prototype Akuma no Mi (katakana — distinct from ordinary Devil Fruits). Body-hopping ability via Domi Reversi. Weakened away from Mary Geoise. Stated obsession: Vivi.

Appearance (@1179 pp.15–17): horned (two large black curving horns), long white hair, ringed eyes, black lips/nails, an eye-and-staff sigil marking on the hand/forearm, a dark streak down the face; gender still unstated; archaic register (“casteth away,” “I leave to thee”).

Reverie — Chamber of Flowers (Ch. 908)

In the Chamber of Flowers of Pangaea Castle, the Five Elders ascend a long stair and kneel before Imu’s throne — “Oh, Great Imu!! …are at your service!!!” — the first on-page proof that the Gorosei are Imu’s servants, not the World Government’s apex (pp. 15–17). Imu offers/accepts the power to strike any name from history (“…the name you wish stricken!! Simply state…”, p. 17). Imu is shown only as a shadowed silhouette with a single visible eye; a lone sword stands beside the throne (p. 17).

Lulusia (Ch. 1060)

Wields Uranus to vaporize an entire kingdom from orbit.

• (In-window on-page record, anti-spoiler): From the Empty Throne at Pangaea Castle, the shadowy throne-occupant — a giant eye, UNNAMED on-page — monologues that there is “no King of the World… it never existed in the first place” (pp. 13–15), orders communications cut and the world’s surveillance to “detect nothing,” then erases the entire Kingdom of Lulucia with an object dropped from the sky. The figure is strongly implied to be Imu but is not named in 1060; the weapon is unnamed on-page. The demonstrated act is recorded primarily on Empty Throne.

Reverie flashback (Ch. 1084)

Appears in person before King Cobra in the Empty Throne chamber as the chapter closes (”…Lily…” / “Oh! Great Imu!”) — the on-page setup for Cobra’s assassination, immediately after Cobra asked about the erased Queen Lily and the “D” (p. 17).

Reverie — Murder of King Cobra (Ch. 1085)

• In the Reverie flashback Imu (shadow + single eye) presides over the Empty Throne room with the kneeling Five Elders and personally murders King Cobra (pp. 2–6, 12).
• States the Empty Throne’s law: “No one is meant to sit upon that throne… it is not meant for one person’s will to sway the entire world” (p. 2).
• Doctrine on the D: “The D is the name of those who once opposed us”; its bearers are “empty husks, ignorant of the meaning of their name” (p. 3).
• Blames the scattered poneglyphs on Queen Lily’s “mistake” 800 years ago — the liberation of the poneglyphs — and wonders aloud whether it was “a simple mistake, or… planned?” (pp. 3–4).
• Throne-room defenses manifest monstrous shadow-beast forms and a chess-named strike, “Rook Check!!!”, repelling Sabo (pp. 7–8).

Cobra confrontation (Ch. 1085–Ch. 1086)

Reveals self as Saint Imu Nerona of the original Twenty. Sword in flower room implied to be Lily’s.

• Named on-page (via Sabo’s deduction, p. 13): “St. Imu of the Nerona Dynasty,” a monarch among “the first 20 who created the world” ~800 years ago — implying an ~800-year lifespan and that “the means to create everlasting life exist in this world.”
• In the Chamber of Flowers (shown as a shadowed silhouette / single eye), states “I wish to use… the Mother Flame” and approves field-testing it on Lulucia (pp. 7–8); declares “I desire Vivi…” → the Gorosei answer “It will be done” (p. 10).

Egghead broadcast — Imu reacts to “Joy Boy” (Ch. 1122)

• At Pangaea Castle, the Five Elders bow to Imu (“O great Imu!!”) amid an explosion; Imu reacts to the broadcast’s mention of Joy Boy with a pounding heart (“B-BMP”) and the cry “JOY-BOY!!” — the first visceral, personal reaction Imu shows toward the figure (p.13–14). Egghead — epilogue: executes Saturn (Ch. 1125) — shown (voice/eye)

• From Marijoa, Imu remotely destroys Saturn at Egghead — “Saturn… why did you allow Joyboy to escape?” — dissolving him into shadow and bones (pp.11–13). Confirms Imu’s authority over and lethal reach against the Five Elders, and a personal stake in “Joyboy” (Luffy). Took control of Saturn’s body during God Valley. Used Domi Reversi to puppet Rocks himself.

Elbaf (Ch. 1178)

• Manifests on-page in Elbaf as a black, slit-eyed amorphous entity that “pops out” of its host body (pp.4–5); archaic speech confirmed (“thou,” “ye”).
• “If only thou wouldst vanish… off the face of the earth… as ROCKS did!!!” (p.5) — self-attests to Rocks’ erasure. See Rocks and God Valley.

Elbaf (Ch. 1187)

• Imu’s true form (white-haired, horned) comes face to face with Gear-5 Luffy at the chapter’s end: “There thou art, Joyboy!!” (p. 17). Title card: “KING OF THE WORLD — ST. NERONA IMU VS EMPEROR OF THE SEA — MONKEY D. LUFFY.”

Elbaf (Ch. 1188)

• Flashback (“a certain day”): answers a Den Den Mushi call from a self-declared “Joy Boy” and replies “JOY BOY IS ALREADY DEAD.” (pp. 2–3)
• Present: descended, horned, black-flamed combat form (WG-cross emblem, p. 14) duels Gear-5 Luffy; wields named void-weapons — “Sucker Punching Bullet!!” (p. 11), “Stigma!!” (p. 12), “Sword of the Wailing Void!!” (black-flame blade, p. 13).
