Etymology: 八十梟帥 (やそたける Yasotakeru), lit. “Eighty Brave Chiefs / Eighty Tribal Leaders.” Takeru (梟帥) is an archaic word for the fierce leader of a valiant tribe; yaso (八十, “eighty”) is a symbolic figure for “countless / a great many.” The compound is the name the Kojiki / Nihon Shoki give to the Yasotakeru — the eighty brigand-chiefs slain by legendary first Emperor Jimmu on his eastern conquest — apt for a Roger-crew warrior who levels a giant castle-tower single-handed.
