The Ch. 189 Cobra-orders-explosives beat is composed in a deliberately load-bearing register — it is the first on-page kingdom-scale demonstration of the destroy-rather-than-surrender doctrine in One Piece. Four converging techniques calibrate this prediction:

• chekhov-explicit — Ch. 189 page 12 stages the explosives-vs-history dialogue at the moment of Crocodile’s silhouette-arrival to the throne (pages 16-17). The Pluton-under-the-palace plot is set up by the collision of three on-panel elements in one chapter: (a) Cobra orders the demolition, (b) Crocodile arrives at the throne, (c) the question “BUT WHAT OF ALABASTA’S HISTORY?!” is voiced aloud. This is the gun-on-the-mantel that pays off the Pluton-under-Alabasta-palace reveal forward-canon.
• parallel-arc-structure (Drum Twenty Doctors Is The Proto-Template For Imus Twenty Founders) — the East-Blue-to-Alabasta corridor is canonically Oda’s template-laboratory for world-tier social grammars. The forward Vivi-vs-Imu confrontation is still unwritten, but a prediction whose load-bearing premise inverted on-page is a miss, and it stays on the board as one. A successor prediction built on the doctrine the pages actually establish — concede-to-protect-a-loved-one re-runs at Mary Geoise — is deferred to a future scoring pass with its own evidence keys and refutation criteria, rather than re-titling this note in place.

Calibration note: filed at 0.6 on a four-technique chain; the very next scoring pass (2026-05-29) had already caught the inversion, but the flag sat unactioned for six weeks. Self-contradiction fix — 2026-07-15

This prediction was filed (2026-05-28) claiming a destroy-rather-than-surrender doctrine, sourced entirely from Ch. 189’s explosives order. The very next day’s own re-verification pass (the “Scoring note” below, 2026-05-29) already found that the Ch. 189 order is a bluff that’s never executed, and that the actual Ch. 193 on-page prototype shows Cobra doing the opposite: he refuses Crocodile’s poneglyph-location demand, then concedes/surrenders it the instant Vivi’s safety is on the line (Ch. 0193 p. 15: “I’ll take you there. …I can’t stand this anymore!!”). The poneglyph is subsequently read intact (Ch. 0203) — nothing is destroyed. That finding was correctly logged in the Scoring note, but the title, claim, and status were never updated to match — leaving the note self-contradicting (title says “destroy,” body-evidence says “concede”).

Corrected reading of the doctrine actually established by the prototype: Cobra’s posture is concede/surrender a state secret rather than risk a loved one, not destroy history rather than cede it. The “destroy-rather-than- surrender” doctrine this prediction is named for has zero on-page confirmation anywhere in the cited evidence — Ch. 189 threatens it, Ch. 193 inverts it, and no chapter ever shows it actually deployed.

Does the forward-looking Mary Geoise claim survive under the corrected doctrine? Not as originally staged. The original claim required Vivi (or Alabasta-side forces) destroying a Nefertari-line artifact rather than cede it to Imu. This is exactly what the Ch. 193 prototype already shows Cobra doing — the refutation condition for the prototype fired on the prototype itself. (The forward Vivi-vs-Imu beat is still unresolved; only the prototype premise is refuted.)
• The Ch. 189 doctrine pays off only at the Alabasta-arc-finale (Cobra’s palace-saved-by-Luffy beat) and does not re-run at world-tier. The Drum-arc-style scale-up doesn’t apply to this particular doctrine.
• Imu’s demand on Vivi is only the body (per the Imu-Possessed-Lily reading) and not a stewardship-artifact. Then the destroy-rather- than-surrender doctrine has no asset to deploy against; the prediction’s asset-destruction clause has no target.
