Baroque Works field-officer (disguise: Mr. 9) · forward-canon Alabasta royal-bodyguard · paired with Vivi (as Ms. Wednesday)

Profile

A muscular man with bulbous lips and short dark hair who debuts in Ch. 105 in Baroque Works disguise as Mr. 9 — wearing a golden crown, ballerina tutu and tights. Self-introduces: “I AM A KING.” (Luffy: “LIAR.”) Forward-canon: he is Vivi’s royal bodyguard, the captain of Alabasta’s palace guard, double-agenting inside Baroque Works as Mr. 9 to surveil Crocodile alongside Vivi (as Ms. Wednesday). His Ch. 105 pose-grammar is deliberate inversion-camouflage: a royal-bodyguard presented as a ballerina-clown-king.

Note: This character-note tracks the forward-canon true-identity behind the Mr. 9 disguise. The Mr. 9 disguise-side appearances are tracked at Mr. 9. The two notes are deliberately split so that on first-read (Ch. 103-105) the reader-facing entity is Mr. 9; the Igaram-as-true-identity reveal lands at Whisky Peak (~Ch. 113-114).

Arc-by-arc updates

Post-Enies Lobby (Ch. 439)

  • Among Vivi’s retainers reacting to Nico Robin’s bounty (“I knew that there was something mysterious about that woman, but…”, pp. 17-18).

Alabasta — Alubarna recovery ceremony (Ch. 216)

  • Childhood-flashback briefer (pp. 2-3, 6) — teaches young Vivi that Baroque Works is a leaderless underground organization plotting to overthrow Alabasta and poses the “resolve to stay alive” question; first on-page Igaram-as-Vivi’s-political-tutor flashback.
  • Alive and at Vivi’s side at the ceremony (pp. 7, 14-15) — frets over the long speech (“I hope the people don’t riot”) and is shushed by the crowd (“CUT IT OUT, LORD IGARAM!!”). Completes the Ch. 0114 meet again in our homeland… may we… covenant. Cross-link Vivi, Vivi Meet Again In Our Homeland Echo Setup (payoff).

Alabasta — Alubarna Palace (Ch. 215) — Last Waltz — back in Royal-Guard register; comic dressing-room burst-in

  • Restored to his Royal-Guard-Commander register at the palace (Ch. 215 pp. 2-3). Still in his curly-Bach-wig disguise, Igaram hears Vivi’s “I’M GOING TO BECOME A PIRATE QUEEN!!” and bursts gun-drawn into her dressing room (THWAM!!), mistaking it for an attack — “PRINCESS VIVI!!!” — and is hurled out by his wife Terracotta (“Don’t just barge in without knocking!! Princess Vivi is dressing!!” / “THEN GET OUT!!! …WHAM!!”). First on-page Igaram-Terracotta married-couple beat; canonizes Terracotta as his wife / palace head chamberlain on-page (pays off the Ch. 0213 introduction).
  • Cross-link Vivi (Ch. 0215 dressing-room), Terracotta (Ch. 0215 wife — hurls him out), Alubarna.

Alabasta — Alubarna Palace (Ch. 214) — Brings Vivi the “bad news”; withholds the crew’s bounties

  • Rushes “bad news” to Vivi at the palace (pp. 1-3) — the Straw Hats have put to sea.
  • Chooses not to tell Vivi the crew’s bounties (p. 9): “It’s no use, Igaram… Besides, it wouldn’t change anything… And it won’t make any difference to them. The news will just make them happy.” — a quiet character beat reaffirming Igaram’s protective deference to Vivi’s autonomy at the choice-point.
  • Confirms the crew is on the Supersonic Duck Squadron and out of reach (“There’s no way Karoo could catch up to them.”, p. 9). Cross-link Vivi, Karoo.

Alabasta — wind-down (Ch. 213)

  • Alive and reunited with the crew at the palace; Luffy double-takes (“Hey, it’s Igaram!! You’re alive?!”).
  • His wife Terracotta (palace housekeeper) is introduced (pp. 11-12) — first on-page Igaram-domestic-life beat, paying off the Ch. 0125 cover-art blonde-woman-in-star-sweater.
  • Cross-link Terracotta (wife, introduced), Nefertari Cobra (confirms her identity), Luffy (reunion double-take), Alubarna.

Alabasta — Alubarna palace infirmary (Ch. 212) — Some Justice — keeps Vivi company at the rain-window; affirms her Pell eulogy

  • At the infirmary window with Vivi (Ch. 212 pp. 11-13). After the war, among the recovering wounded. Igaram: “Princess Vivi… you’re still awake?” — checks on her; she replies she only wants to watch the rain. When Vivi mourns Pell, Igaram affirms: “That is the greatest tribute you could pay him.” First on-page quiet-Igaram-as-Vivi’s-guardian-confidant beat post-war. The Royal-Guard captain has fully resumed his protector role.
  • Cross-link Vivi (ward), Pell (mourned), Nefertari Cobra (sleeping nearby), Alubarna, Vivi Mourns Pell Noblest Warrior Premature-Eulogy (new).

Alabasta — civil-war end (Ch. 211)

  • Revealed alive on-page at Alubarna in his Igarappoi disguise (p. 4) — crowd hails “LORD IGARAM!! / COMMANDER!! / He’s alive?! / It’s that weird guy from Whisky Peak!!” First in-story confirmation he survived the Ch. 0114 decoy-explosion at Whisky Peak; pays off the Ch. 0125 cover-splash survival signal.
  • Arrives alongside Chaka as the war winds down, restoring the Royal Guard command structure.
  • Cross-link Chaka (Ch. 0211 co-arrival), Igaram Cover Story Whisky Peak Survival (Ch. 0211 in-story on-page payoff), Igaram Decoy Sacrifice Composition (Ch. 0211 survival fully on-page-confirmed).

Alabasta (Ch. 189)

Alabasta — Alubarna palace (Ch. 188) — completes Ch. 0180 solo-courier mission; in the palace audience-chamber when Vivi orders the destroy-the-palace decree

  • Igaram reaches the Alubarna palace audience-chamber (Ch. 188 pp. 2-3) — completes the Ch. 0180 solo-courier mission from Nanohana. Wears the curly-wig + travel coat (Bach-visual signature retained). In foreground of the Royal Guard rage-line at the destroy-the-palace decree: “PRINCESS VIVI! PRINCESS!!” — first on-page Royal-Guard-captain reaction-register to Vivi’s monarch-tier override.
  • The Ch. 0117 I am leaving the country letter-decoy now operationally resolved: Igaram is alive, in Alabasta, in the palace, with the princess.

Alabasta — Nanohana (Ch. 180) — Alabasta Animal Land — solo return to Alabasta; sprints through bombed-out Nanohana toward the final clash; SBS canonization as Bach-visual-model for Baroque-Works etymology

  • First on-page Igaram-back-in-Alabasta-solo beat (Ch. 180 pp. 8-9). In his curly-Bach-wig + travel-coat, humming (MI-MI-MI-MI-MI ♪), running through the bombed-out Nanohana streets: “Princess Vivi and those pirates must’ve made it here safely. I saw their ship.” / “So the final clash has begun…” / “Please, let me be in time!!! I must hurry…” The Royal-Guard captain is operationally redeployed solo — pre-loads his forward-canon Alubarna-palace-court arc-end role (the courier whose intel reaches Cobra). Cross-link Igaram Returns To Alabasta Solo Reentry Beat (new), Nanohana (Ch. 180 Igaram-solo-return evidence add).
  • SBS — canonized as Bach-visual-model for the Baroque-Works etymology (Ch. 180 p. 20 SBS). Reader question: “Bach was a baroque composer. Could it be that Igaram, who looks like Bach, and the baroque school inspired Baroque Works?!” Oda: “That’s right.” — Igaram’s curly Bach-wig is officially the visual-signature key for the entire Baroque Works organization-design. The Whisky-Peak-arc captain-of-the-Royal-Guard’s Bach-resemblance is the etymological anchor for the entire arc’s organization-name. Cross-link Baroque Works (Ch. 180 Bach-Igaram-etymology evidence add), Baroque Works SBS Etymology Bach Baroque Art Movement (new).

Alabasta — Rainbase escape (Ch. 177) — implied: exits the Rain Dinners cage with the Strawhats and joins the Vivi-escort to Alubarna

  • Implied present in the Vivi-escort to Alubarna (Ch. 177 pp. 2-5). The Ch. 0170 cage held Luffy/Sanji/Usopp/Igaram; the cage breaks off-page between chapters; Igaram exits with the Strawhats. First on-page implied Royal-Guard-Captain Igaram joins the escort beat. Not directly visualized in the airlift panels — flagged as load-bearing inference.
  • Cross-link Vivi (princess he escorts), Alubarna (destination — his home).

Alabasta — Rain Dinners (Ch. 174) — cage-mate; yells PRINCE save-us

  • Cage-mate alongside Luffy/Usopp; yells “PRINCE! SAVE US!!!” (Ch. 174 p. 4) into Sanji’s Snail-o-phone. Helpless register continues from Ch. 0170.
  • Cross-link Sanji, Vivi (window-yell with hopes-pinned-on-Sanji register).

Alabasta — Rain Dinners (Ch. 170) — Beginning — alive-confirmed on-page in the Strawhat frame; captive in Crocodile’s underground cage; reunion with Vivi

  • LOAD-BEARING — first on-page Igaram-confirmed-alive-in-the-Strawhat-frame since the Whisky Peak decoy-explosion (Ch. 170 pp. 11-14). Igaram is in the barred underground cage at Rain Dinners alongside Luffy/Sanji/Usopp. Pays off the Ch. 0114 decoy-survival (the Whisky Peak decoy-ship-explosion that Vivi believed killed him). The Ch. 0125 cover-art Igarappoi-disguise + Ch. 0142 childhood-flashback + Ch. 0167 royal-court letter-as-textual-evidence already established the survival cover-story at three off-screen tiers; Ch. 0170 is the in-story confirmation in the main narrative. Cross-link Igaram Alive At Rain Dinners Survival Reframe (new — load-bearing), Igaram Decoy Sacrifice Composition (Ch. 0170 payoff evidence add), Igaram Cover Story Whisky Peak Survival (Ch. 0170 in-story-canonized evidence add).
  • First on-page Vivi-Igaram reunion since Whisky Peak (Ch. 170 p. 14). Vivi recognizes Igaram in the cage immediately; the grief-register that has anchored Vivi across the saga is in dissolution. The Ch. 0114 Meet again in our homeland echo (uttered by Igaram before the decoy-explosion) here cashes — they are reunited in our homeland even though the rendezvous-circumstance is captive in the enemy’s casino.
  • Captive — does not yet articulate how he got there (Ch. 170 pp. 11-19). The capture-sequence is off-page; forward-canon explains via the Mr. 2 Bon Clay impersonation arc. The royal court (Ch. 0167) still believes Igaram dead; in-story-canonized survival is now Vivi-and-Strawhat-tier knowledge.
  • Cross-link Vivi (reunion), Luffy (cage-mate), Sanji (cage-mate), Usopp (cage-mate), Crocodile (captor), Rain Dinners Casino (Ch. 0170 captive-set-piece evidence add).

Alabasta — Battlefront (Ch. 167) — letter to the royal court; Acting Commander Chaka canonization; still believed dead at the court

  • First on-page direct Igaram communication post-Ch. 113 decoy-explosion (p. 13). Pell holds up Igaram’s hand-written letter at Alubarna Palace: “I am leaving the country for a while. — Igaram.” The court treats it as a trust-the-princess signal (Chaka: “As does Princess Vivi. He has a plan… He would never betray the kingdom.”). The cover-art Ch. 0125 Igarappoi-survival travelogue is now textually corroborated — Igaram is documented-alive at the kingdom-tier (the letter was sent before the Whisky Peak decoy, so the court still believes him dead).
  • Acting Commander Chaka canonization (p. 12 caption). Chaka is captioned “LIEUTENANT (ACTING COMMANDER) / ROYAL GUARD OF ALABASTA” — confirms Igaram’s commander-seat is canonically vacant since Ch. 0113. The royal-guard chain-of-command operates in interim-mode pending Igaram’s return.
  • Court still believes Igaram died protecting Vivi (p. 15). Pell + Cobra mourn: “He gave his life for the kingdom. Poor Igaram!!” The Ch. 0113 decoy-sacrifice register holds at the royal-court tier; the on-page reunion remains forward-canon.
  • Cross-link Pell (densified — letter-holder), Chaka (densified — Acting Commander), Igaram Cover Story Whisky Peak Survival (Ch. 167 textual-letter evidence add — Igaram is documented-alive at royal-court tier).

Alabasta — childhood-Vivi flashback (Ch. 164) — loyalty-oath to King Cobra

  • Present in the throne-room during Vivi’s tears-on-his-hat beat (p. 12) and at Cobra’s recognition of the Sand-Sand Band (p. 13). Wears his Royal-Guard regalia.
  • LOAD-BEARING — loyalty-oath to Cobra (p. 14, silhouette in the colonnade with Cobra): “I shall serve you… to my final breath.” First on-page Igaram-loyalty-oath beat — establishes the personal-oath-of-service to King Cobra that operationally cashes in his Whisky-Peak Ch. 0110 self-sacrifice-decoy-bomb plan (Igaram literally executes to my final breath in the Vivi-impersonation decoy at Whisky Peak four chapters later). The chapter is the antecedent of Igaram’s Ch. 110 willingness to die-for-Vivi — the loyalty doctrine is inherited from king-oath, not princess-oath. The Ch. 111 if anything should happen to the princess… our kingdom would crumble! succession-doctrine is the derived form of this primary oath.
  • Cross-link Nefertari Cobra (oath-recipient), Igaram Royal Guard Commander Loyalty Doctrine (Ch. 164 to my final breath origin-oath evidence add).

Alabasta (Ch. 163) — Alubarna throne-room (childhood-flashback); offers personal-funds for Yuba relief; protective-rage register

  • LOAD-BEARING — offers to personally fund the Yuba relief (p. 13) — ‘Don’t be absurd!! If we reduce our own living expenses and make a few adjustments, we can easily raise the money!!’ — Cobra has cited treasury-limits; Igaram’s response is personal-financial-sacrifice for crown-obligations. First on-page acknowledgement that Alabasta’s treasury has been under-resourced for at least 11 years + first explicit Igaram-loyalty-extends-to-personal-finance beat. The Ch. 111 if anything should happen to the princess… our kingdom would crumble! She must live! doctrine is here paired with the captain-of-the-royal-guard treating crown-finances as his personal responsibility. See Igaram Personal-Sacrifice Crown-Loyalty Doctrine (new — LOAD-BEARING).
  • Protective-rage register at the Vivi-Koza brawl (p. 14) — ‘How dare that brat lay a hand on the princess!! I’ll thrash him!!!’ The Ch. 142 YOU WERE MAGNIFICENT, PRINCESS VIVI!! register is here at its protective extreme. Igaram has been Vivi’s personal guard since at least 11 years ago.
  • Tails Vivi to the Toh-Toh home with Cobra (p. 18) — ‘Huh!? You followed her too, Your Majesty!?’ / ‘Your Majesty!! What are you doing here!!?’ Igaram and Cobra both surveilling Vivi’s commoner-friendships in disguise. The royal-guard-captain in Mr. 9-tutu-wardrobe (Ch. 142 callback) is here in proto-Mr. 9 disguise infrastructure — surveilling Vivi from cover is a skill he’s been practicing since she was 7.
  • Cross-link Nefertari Cobra (childhood-flashback duty-pair), Vivi (pedagogy-target / surveillance subject), Toh-Toh (new — first interaction).

Alabasta saga (Ch. 155) — roster-formal confirmation as Frontier Agent Mr. 8 + Ms. Monday pair

  • Face-confirmation in the Baroque Works org-chart (p. 17). Vivi’s exposition lays out the full organizational roster, and the Frontier Agent 8 slot shows Mr. 8 paired with Ms. Monday — both as panel-headshots in their on-page Whisky-Peak appearance-tier. The codename-binding canonized Ch. 0107 (Igarappoi’s silhouette-caption IGARAPPOI A.K.A. MR. 8) is now an authoritative-roster-tier visualization, formally institutionalizing the Whisky-Peak pair-grammar with Miss Monday as his Frontier-Agent partner.
  • Cross-link: Miss Monday (paired-officer roster confirmation); Baroque Works (full org-chart reveal).

Drum Island (Ch. 142) — childhood-flashback; pageboy attendant to 8-year-old Vivi at the World Council

Cover-Arc (Ch. 125) — first cover-arc installment of the post-Whisky-Peak Igaram survival cover-story; first on-page signal that Igaram is alive

  • LOAD-BEARING — cover-art signal that Igaram is alive (Ch. 125 p. 1) — Cover-splash: Igaram in his Igarappoi hairnet-disguise (curly-hair-bun + glasses + chef’s-pot hairnet), arms spread wide in a greeting/explanation register, in an indoor reception room with hanging lanterns and ornate doorways. First on-page signal that Igaram (Ch. 113 decoy-explosion) is alive — though delivered on the deniable cover-art layer (not in-story dialogue). Cover-art companions: Karoo (in DJK baseball-cap tourist-wardrobe) + an unnamed blonde woman in a star-sweater. The composition reads as a traveling-companion-trio opening a new cover-arc. Cross-link Igaram Cover Story Whisky Peak Survival (new — load-bearing), Igaram Decoy Sacrifice Composition (Ch. 113 fake-death now cover-art-signaled as survived).
  • Igarappoi disguise persists as Igaram’s traveling-incognito wardrobe — the same hairnet-and-pot wardrobe Igaram wore as Igarappoi (the Whisky Peak mayor cover) is his traveling-disguise across the cover-arc. The disguise-persistence grammar pre-loads the cover-arc as alternate-identity travelogue register.
  • Cross-link Karoo (cover-companion), Vivi (Igaram’s princess), Igaram Cover Story Whisky Peak Survival (new — load-bearing).

Whisky Peak (Ch. 114)

  • Decoy-boat-sacrifice setup pays off on-page: his boat is shown blown up by Baroque Works (p. 5, Miss All Sunday: “How silly. A decoy.”).
  • Final flashback-echo line installs the promise-of-return covenant with Vivi: “Meet again in our homeland… may we…” (p. 10).
  • Vivi believes him dead (p. 18). Off-page survival is forward-canon; on-page register is presumed killed at sea.

Whisky Peak (Ch. 113) — It’s All Right — returns conscious in bullseye-spiral bandage-jumpsuit with a plan; debuts the Eternal Pose on-page; disguises as Vivi; sails out as decoy; presumed killed by Baroque-Works fire offshore

  • Returns conscious from the Ch. 0110 Mr. 5 booger-cannon attack (page 13) — bandage-jumpsuit (bullseye-spiral pattern matching the Baroque-Works visual-grammar), eyes shut, sax still in arms, with three Vivi/Straw-Hat dummies behind him. Self-presentation: “AHEM! MI MI MI!! I HAVE A PLAN!! EVERYTHING IS UNDER CONTROL!!” — the Igarappoi musical-interjection signature canonized further. The dummies’ faces are kanji-glyphs (editor-aside: “The dummies’ faces are made up of Japanese text. They don’t translate to anything, though.”).
  • Igaram introduces the Eternal Pose on-page (pages 14-15). Hands a bracelet-encased compass to Vivi: “PRINCESS, PLEASE GIVE ME… THE ETERNAL POSE OF ALABASTA. SIMPLY PUT, IT’S A PERMANENT LOG POSE. A NORMAL LOG POSE GUIDES YOU FROM ONE ISLAND TO THE NEXT ALONG THE GRAND LINE. BUT THE ETERNAL POSE REMEMBERS ONE LOCATION FOREVER. THE MAGNETIC COORDINATES OF ALABASTA ARE RECORDED IN IT. NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO, IT ALWAYS POINTS TO THE SAME ISLAND.”first on-page extension of the Log-Pose mechanism beyond the basic island-to-island recorder canonized in Ch. 0105. Cross-link Log Pose (Eternal-Pose-variant evidence add), Eternal Pose Permanent Magnetic Recorder (new).
  • Disguises as Vivi for the decoy plan (pages 15-16) — full long-blonde-wig + dress + bullseye-spiral pattern; the only tell is the saxophone-mustache shape projecting through the wig. Sanji wolf-whistles (“ON WHO?” / “MISTER, THAT OUTFIT REALLY LOOKS GREAT!!”). Igaram’s pivot-grammar: “PRINCESS VIVI, I’VE DISGUISED MYSELF AS YOU. I’M GOING TO SET OUT FOR ALABASTA WITH DUMMIES OF THESE THREE. WHILE I DIVERT BAROQUE WORKS’ ATTENTION, YOU MUST GO WITH THESE PEOPLE ON THEIR SHIP AND RETURN TO ALABASTA BY THE USUAL ROUTE.”
  • Sails out on the decoy ship with the dummies (page 16): “MAY WE… MEET AGAIN IN OUR HOMELAND.” + clasps Vivi’s hand in farewell (“YOU, TOO.”). The Straw Hats and Vivi see him off from the Whisky Peak beach. Zoro: “HE’S GONE. THAT GUY WAS A LAUGH TO THE VERY END.” Luffy: “HE MAY NOT LOOK IT, BUT HE’S VERY RELIABLE.”
  • Decoy ship destroyed offshore by off-page Baroque-Works fire (page 17) — BOOM!!? / FWRRR… The chapter closes on the silent presumption of Igaram’s death. Forward-canon: Igaram survives (the survival is revealed much later in the Alabasta saga). But in-chapter the loss reads as definitive — the chapter is scripted to land as Igaram’s death.
  • The decoy-sacrifice is the strategic-scale re-key of the Ch. 0110 combat-scale die-for-the-princess loyalty doctrine — Igaram trades his life as a duplicate of Vivi to mislead the Baroque-Works pursuit. Cross-link Igaram Royal Guard Commander Loyalty Doctrine (re-keyed evidence add), Igaram Decoy Sacrifice Composition (new — load-bearing).
  • First-canonical articulation of Alabasta’s distance from the Grand Line entrance (page 15): “I’VE NEVER GONE THAT WAY, BUT ALABASTA SHOULD BE ONLY TWO OR THREE LOG POSE STOPS FROM HERE.” — 2-3 island-stops from Whisky Peak via the normal route. Pre-loads the Little Garden / Drum Island / Alabasta islands-in-sequence forward-canon route.

Whisky Peak (Ch. 111) — The Secret Criminal Organization — reels at Nami’s billion-berry quote; agrees to performance-contingent contract; doctrine-articulates if anything should happen to the princess, our kingdom would crumble; she must live; names Cactus Crag (escape-boat landmark)

  • Reels at Nami’s billion-berry quote (page 3) — MI-MI-MI-MI! / A-A BILLION!?? / AHEM!! — afro-cannon hair shock-pose.
  • Negotiates pinned-to-delivery payment (page 4) — Nami extracts the if you deliver the princess safely to her kingdom… there should be no problem! clause — converting the lump-sum quote into a performance-contingent contract. Igaram (defeated): “Oh, all right. We’ll save your princess first.”
  • LOAD-BEARING doctrine: If anything should happen to the princess… our kingdom would crumble! She must live! (page 7) — the Vivi-is-the-kingdom succession-doctrine. The Princess’s death would crumble the entire Kingdom of Alabasta. First on-page canonization of the Vivi-as-political-existence-of-the-realm stakes-framing. Forward-pattern: re-keys in the post-Reverie / Lulusia / Imu-saga as a load-bearing crown-jewel-of-the-realm stakes-grammar. Cross-link Vivi Is The Kingdom Succession Doctrine (new).
  • Names Cactus Crag (page 8) — “There’s a boat docked behind Cactus Crag.” — first on-page utterance of the Whisky-Peak harbor-back landmark. Cross-link Cactus Crag (new — Whisky Peak harbor-landmark).
  • Wounded-but-recovering by chapter end — still alive, present for the next-chapter escape-staging.

Whisky Peak (Ch. 110) — The Night Isn’t Over — LOAD-BEARING: true name Igaram revealed on-page via editor’s note; first self-identification as Commander of the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Alabasta; throws himself in front of Mr. 5’s booger-cannon to protect Vivi; survives barely; begs Sanji and Zoro to escort Vivi to Alabasta — escort-contract premise installed

  • LOAD-BEARING: first on-page reveal of his true name (page 12-13). Editor’s note: IGARAM IS HIS TRUE NAME. IGARAPPOI IS HIS ASSUMED NAME. —ED. This is the first on-page utterance of Igaram in the entire series — the disguise-side notes (Igaram, Mr. 9) all close out their concealment at this beat.
  • Igarappa attack named on-page (page 12) — “DIE!! IGARAPPAPPA!!!” — first on-page named attack in the Alabasta saga proper. The Ch. 109 Igarappa / Igarap-pappa canonization is re-keyed here under the now-true-name register (no longer Mr. 8 obfuscation).
  • First on-page self-identification as Alabasta Royal Guard Commander (page 13): “ON MY HONOR AS COMMANDER OF THE ROYAL GUARD OF THE KINGDOM OF ALABASTA!” — first canonical rank-and-affiliation utterance. The forward-canon Alabasta-royal-guard-captain identity hinted at since Ch. 105 (the disguise inversion) is now explicitly on-page with rank-title.
  • Throws himself in front of Mr. 5’s booger-cannon to protect Vivi (pages 13-17) — survives barely (knocked out, blood-streaked). The die-for-the-princess loyalty doctrine canonized as a combat-grammar move, not just a dialogue claim. Pre-loads the Ch. 114 decoy-sacrifice (Igaram sailing the Vivi-decoy-ship into Baroque-Works fleet fire). Cross-link Igaram Royal Guard Commander Loyalty Doctrine (new).
  • Begs Sanji and Zoro to escort Vivi to Alabasta (page 19), offering a handsome reward: “Please escort my princess to Alabasta, a great kingdom in the far east!” This is the escort-contract premise for the rest of the Whisky Peak arc — and the chapter-canonical first geographic position-fixing of Alabasta as a far-east Grand-Line kingdom. Vivi/Karoo flee with Igaram in tow at chapter’s end.
  • Cross-link Mr. 5 (new) — Officer Agent who attacks him; Miss Valentine (new) — Officer Agent who delivers Vivi’s princess-reveal panel; Bomu Bomu no Mi (new) — fruit demonstrated against Igaram; Nefertari Vivi Princess Identity Revealed On Page (new — load-bearing co-witness); Nefertari D Family (new — Igaram is the royal-guard of this line).

Whisky Peak (Ch. 109) — A Question of Duty — first sustained on-page combat as Mr. 8; named-attacks Igarappa + Igarap-pappa; rabbit-hole tunnel infrastructure revealed; staged friendly-fire through Ms. Wednesday/Vivi’s position (the secret-loyalty-register inversion)

  • First sustained on-page combat in his Mr. 8 capacity (saxophone-shotgun barrage on Zoro across pages 3, 11, 15-16). The Ch. 0107 IGARAPPA!!! reflexive discharge promotes here to a fully-named officer-tier combat-grammar.
  • Named-attack Igarappa (page 3, single-barrel saxophone-shotgun). Cross-link Mr 8 Igarappa Saxophone-Gun Attack (new).
  • Named-attack Igarap-pappa (page 16, multi-barrel saxophone-cannon, Cha-Choonga / Ka-Chak! cycling). Multi-barrel artillery-upgrade of the single-barrel Igarappa — establishes the convertible double-state weapon doctrine that mirrors Mr. 9’s Bat of Guts / Home-Run Hide-a-Bat pattern.
  • Reveals Whisky Peak’s hidden rabbit-hole tunnel infrastructure (page 12): “Fleeing down a rabbit hole won’t save you / Now I’ll give you a taste of real fear.” Igaram’s Alice-in-Wonderland invocation canonizes the town’s architecture as Baroque-Works trap-infrastructure. Cross-link Whisky Peak Town-As-Lie Combat Environment (new).
  • Friendly-fires through Ms. Wednesday’s (Vivi’s) position to hit Zoro (page 16) — surface-grammar reads as Baroque-Works officer-callousness, but inverts later as Igaram’s secret-loyalty register (he is not actually trying to hit Vivi; the staged-friendly-fire is part of the deception cover both of them are running on Baroque Works). The Ch. 107 friendly-fire incident promotes here from accidental-reflexive to load-bearing deception-cover-staged. The Vivi-side reaction (“What is he? Some kinda toy!?”) is on-page-only-from-her-perspective-as-presumed-betrayed — both Igaram and Vivi are running the same long-cover, and the friendly-fire is part of how they sell it.
  • Recognizes the boss as off-page authority (alongside Mr. 9 and Ms. Wednesday) — three-officer cell-team operates against Zoro under shared knowledge of the Baroque-Works personal-accountability-to-the-unseen-boss hierarchy. Cross-link Baroque Works The Boss Off-Page Reference (new).
  • Defeated by Zoro alongside Mr. 9 and Ms. Wednesday — Zoro solo-clears the three Baroque-Works officer-survivors. Cross-link Zoro Solo Whisky Peak Massacre Continued (new).

Whisky Peak (Ch. 107) — Mr. 8 self-reveal at the welcome-trap; saxophone-shotgun fired; ~100-agent cell-size canonized; Baroque-Works org-name spoken on-page

  • Mr. 8 codename self-revealed at the Whisky Peak saloon-backroom debrief (page 9 silhouette panel: IGARAPPOI A.K.A. MR. 8). The Ch. 105-106 Mr. 9 / Igarappoi parallel-disguise stack now has a third operational codename revealed — Mr. 8. The Mr.-number-codename-stacking is the deepest tell yet of his Baroque-Works embedding. Substantive Mr.-8 details — including the saxophone-shotgun fire, the Baroque-Works org-name confrontation with Zoro, and the bounty-drops-30%-dead doctrine articulation — are tracked at the disguise-side note Igaram.
  • Forward-canon note: the Mr. 8 reveal is the external Baroque-Works codename; combined with the Ch. 105 Mr. 9 reveal, the two-codename-on-one-person pattern installs (Mr. 9 is the cover-for-Vivi-side, Mr. 8 is the senior-cell-officer-side). Forward-pattern: the true-identity-Igaram reveal (Alabasta royal-guard captain) lands at ~Ch. 113-114 with the Whisky-Peak Vivi-reveal.

Whisky Peak (Ch. 106) — Second disguise installed: Igarappoi, Mayor of Whisky Peak; label-panel-villain-grammar debut

Reverse Mountain / Twin Cape (Ch. 105) — Disguise debut as Mr. 9; crown-and-tutu inversion-camouflage

Notes

  • Two-note split convention: For undercover characters whose true identity is forward-canon at first appearance, the disguise gets its own Character note (here: Mr. 9) and the true-identity gets a separate Character note (here: this one). The Mr. 9 note tracks the Ch. 103-105 disguise-side appearances; this note tracks the forward-canon Igaram identity. Cross-link both notes when the disguise is referenced.
  • Multi-disguise extension (Ch. 0106): Igaram now operates with two parallel disguise-personas in the Whisky-Peak arc: (1) Mr. 9 (the Baroque Works field-officer cover), tracked at Mr. 9; (2) Igarappoi (the Mayor-of-Whisky-Peak front-cover), tracked at Igaram. The Mr. 9 disguise is the external Baroque-Works codename he carries with Vivi; the Igarappoi disguise is the internal Whisky-Peak townsfolk-facing identity. Both disguises conceal his forward-canon identity as captain of Alabasta’s royal guard.
