The royal line of Alabasta. The surname Nefertari is the Egyptian-queen-name encoding (Queen Nefertari Meritmut, principal wife of Pharaoh Ramesses II; nfrt-jrj = “the most beautiful”).

Key chapter for the surname: Ch. 110 page 15 — Miss Valentine reveals Vivi’s identity on-page: “NEFELTARI VIVI!!! THE PRINCESS OF ALABASTA…” This is the first on-page utterance of the surname Nefertari in the entire series. Prior to Ch. 0110, Vivi appeared under the cover-alias Ms. Wednesday (Ch. 103-109) — her royal-line surname was forward-canon.

The line carries the D. middle initial. Vivi is Nefertari D. Vivi — the D. is concealed in modern-era usage but the lineage to Nefertari D. Lily, the Void-Century-era queen who refused to ascend to the founding Twenty’s Empty Throne, retroactively names the modern bearers as carriers of the D.

The Nefertari D. line is a branch of the broader D. lineage (D). The D. designation is concealed in modern-Alabasta naming convention — Vivi and Cobra are publicly called Nefertari Vivi and Nefertari Cobra, with the D. middle initial only canonically attached to Nefertari D. Lily.

The doubled-syllable name signature (Vivi, Lily, Titi — Vivi’s mother) is the lineage name-signature of the Nefertari D. Family — a pet-name structure that Oda uses across the line to mark family-membership at the naming-grammar level.

Why this family matters (plot weight)

The Nefertari D. line is the load-bearing royal-blood line of the Imu obsession.

Per Ch. 1179, Imu’s stated obsession is I want Vivi — explicitly naming the modern Nefertari heir as Imu’s personal target. The surname-encoding (Egyptian queen-name + D. lineage) is the 800-year foreshadowing seed that began with Ch. 110 (first on-page utterance of Nefertari) and pays off in the Final Saga.

The chain of evidence:

1. Ch. 110 — first on-page utterance of Nefertari; Princess of Alabasta canonized.
2. Ch. 906 — Imu defaces Vivi’s bounty poster among five total: Luffy + Shirahoshi + Blackbeard + Vivi + Cobra. The Nefertari line is two of the five Imu-targets.
3. Ch. 1085 — Cobra confronts Imu; the Nefertari D. Lily lineage is canonized. The lone sword in the flower room implies Lily’s sword.
4. Ch. 1179 — Imu declares “I want Vivi” — explicit personal-obsession with the modern Nefertari heir.

The seed-to-payoff burn is ~1069 chapters (0110 → 1179) — one of the longest-burning character-lineage foreshadows in the series.
