The claim

Reasoning

This prediction is the forward-routed remainder of the “Imu Is a Parrot” Gauntlet verdict (see Imu Is a Parrot). That verdict’s central claim — Imu literally is a parrot — is refuted by present pages, but the future-origin sub-claim (SC5) is non-adjudicable today: no published chapter or SBS settles what Imu ultimately is. This note files the corpus-backed expectation so future scoring passes can settle it.

The prediction is high-confidence because the present evidence already runs strongly against any avian reveal, and Imu’s own true-form art constrains what the eventual origin can be.

Supporting evidence

• Ch. 1179 — Imu’s true form is drawn on-page as a horned, winged, white-haired HUMANOID (pp. 15-17), captioned “POWER: THE DEVIL’S FRUIT” (definite article, reading as a root/original fruit, not an avian zoan).
• Ch. 1183 — the same humanoid form fights the Loki-dragon in open melee, a consistent humanoid combatant.
• Ch. 1187 — the Gear-5 Luffy confrontation keeps Imu’s nature sealed but drawn as the same humanoid sovereign (“There thou art, Joyboy!!”).
• Imu Identity — the four tracked leading origin theories are possessed-Lily demon, prototype/root Devil-Fruit user, Lunarian/sky-being, and place-bound spirit; “literal parrot” appears in none of them.
• SBS Vol 107 (p. 31) — the theory’s only SBS engagement (the “long pointy mouth” / beak question) is a deliberate dodge (“mark this as read…”), not a confirmation.

What would refute this

Be specific — the cleaner the falsifier, the more honest the prediction:

• A future chapter that redraws Imu with a beak, feathers, or an explicit avian/parrot body.
• An SBS column in which Oda affirmatively confirms an avian or parrot origin for Imu.
• A reveal that Imu originated as a literal bird — including as Nefertari D. Lily’s pet parrot — or an on-page tie to the “Parrot Flower” (Impatiens psittacina / “Princess Lily”).

Why not confirmed. Ch. 1188–Ch. 1189 give the most extensive look at Imu’s descended combat form yet — horned, white-haired, black-flamed (Omen), a WG-cross emblem on the body, fighting Gear-5 Luffy hand-to-hand and wielding named blades (“STIGMA!”, p.14; “BLADE OF NOTHINGNESS— VOHU.”, p.15 — and VIZ titles ch. 1188 “Vohu”; this is the same blade as the Vohu component of the Ch. 1192 “Tohu va-Vohu” pair, named on-page four chapters earlier, which strengthens the arsenal argument here — then the Fragarach / Xingtian / Gram / Longinus barrage). This is added form detail, not an origin reveal. The prediction’s trigger is explicitly “when Imu’s full origin/backstory is revealed” — and it is not. What Imu is remains sealed: Ch. 1188 p.10 has Brook still reduced to inferring rank from hierarchy (“he’s clearly higher ranked than the Knights… the World Government is always shrouded in mystery”), which is the opposite of an origin disclosure. Per the anti-pattern guard, more panels of the humanoid form are not the panel that settles the claim.

Why the small bump. Refuter-grep for parrot | beak | feather | avian | bird across Ch. 1179–Ch. 1189 returns zero hits — eleven consecutive chapters of heavy Imu screen-time, including two full chapters of close-quarters combat art, with no avian morphology anywhere. Two further constraints tighten the humanoid reading: the Ch. 1187 title card captions him “KING OF THE WORLD ST. NERONA IMU” — a Celestial-Dragon “St.” honorific plus a house surname, a noble-lineage register; and Ch. 1189 p.13 seats him inside the founders’ political apparatus (he wields the 19 oath-swords the 19 founding kings laid around the Empty Throne, granting access to the Holy Knights’ great houses via Omen). An origin that has to accommodate a named noble house and 800-year sovereignty over a human political order has correspondingly less room for “was literally a bird.” Modest bump only — the prediction was already near ceiling, and no amount of consistent non-avian art can substitute for the origin chapter itself.

Note on the void-serpent. Ch. 1188 adds an eye-studded void-serpent to Imu’s arsenal — a summoned Omen construct, not Imu’s own body, and reptilian rather than avian regardless. It does not bear on the claim.

Why not confirmed. Ch. 1190 gives yet another chapter of Imu’s true form — the “horned true form” dueling Scopper Gaban across Elbaf’s two realms — but origin stays sealed, so the trigger (“when Imu’s full origin/backstory is revealed”) is not met. Gaban’s “What a hideous form… you don’t even seem to be of this world” and Imu’s “Who art thou?” are the opposite of a disclosure: two combatants who don’t know each other’s histories. Per the anti-pattern guard, more true-form combat panels are not the origin panel.

Why held (no bump). Refuter-grep for beak | feather | avian | parrot | bird across 1190 returns zero avian hits — the only morphology term is “horned,” continuing twelve straight chapters of consistent non-avian art. This keeps tightening the humanoid reading but adds no new class of constraint beyond what 1188–1189 already supplied, and the prediction is already near ceiling — no amount of consistent art substitutes for the origin chapter. Confidence held 0.96.

2026-09-07 — scored at frontier 1192 (VIZ) · STILL OPEN · confidence 0.96 → 0.93.

Why not confirmed. The trigger is unmet for a fourth window: Ch. 1191 and Ch. 1192 give Imu heavy screen-time and the fullest true-form art yet, but no origin/backstory reveal. If anything the corpus goes the other way — Ch. 1191 p.4 has Gaban refuse to classify him at all: “Who he is… is not something anyone ought to know!! If I had to call him anything, it’d be… …God.” That is a stated withholding of the origin, not a disclosure. Per the anti-pattern guard, more true-form panels are not the origin panel.

Why the trim — a refuter clause is brushed for the first time. Ch. 1192 p.9 shows Imu’s true form whole, and the vault’s own reading of the art is “two enormous black feathered wings, a gray white-spotted torso, black horns, stitch-scars, black tendril-arms whose sleeves are covered in open eyes.” This note’s refuter list says, verbatim, “A future chapter that redraws Imu with a beak, feathers, or an explicit avian/parrot body.” Feathers are now on the page — the first avian-adjacent morphology term in the whole corpus for Imu (previous chapter notes and Imu describe wings without ever calling them feathered).

Why it is a brush and not a fire. The clause’s three items are not equivalent: a beak or an avian body would be morphology-decisive, whereas feathered wings on a horned, white-haired, two-armed, sword-wielding humanoid are the standard angel/demon register, not a bird. Nothing else moved toward avian — no beak, no talons, no plumage on the body, and the surrounding detail (stitch-scars, eye-studded tendril-sleeves, skull motifs in the body pattern, @1192 p.13) reads demonic rather than ornithic. The claim as written in the prediction field — “Imu will be shown as a humanoid being… NOT a literal parrot or bird” — is untouched. But the note is scored against its own falsifiers, and one of them now has a partial on-page match, so the ceiling comes down. Held open at 0.93.

No movement. Ch. 1188 and Ch. 1189 were re-read from the official VIZ release (107 errors corrected), so the 2026-07-25 entry above was scored partly against fan-scanlation text. Re-running the falsifier sweep on the corrected pages: parrot | beak | feather | avian | bird | plumage | talon | psittacina across Ch. 1179–Ch. 1192 returns hits in 1192 only (“feathered wings”, p.9 — already priced on 2026-09-07). The corrected 1188/1189 add zero avian-morphology terms across two chapters of the closest-quarters Imu combat art in the series. No refuter fired; no origin reveal landed; the trigger is unmet for a fifth window.

⚠ Reasoning correction (1188-1189 VIZ reconcile sweep, 2026-09-08): two supporting arguments in the 2026-07-25 entry above were built on TCB text and need re-stating. Neither changes the verdict.

1. The “seats him inside the founders’ political apparatus” argument was misattributed. That entry said “Ch. 1189 p.13 … he wields the 19 oath-swords the 19 founding kings laid around the Empty Throne, granting access to the Holy Knights’ great houses via Omen.” In VIZ the 19-weapon roll-call is p.15, and it is delivered by a Holy Knight lecturing Zoro at Sea Cloud Port, Western Village — a different scene on a different island-side; Imu is elsewhere, pinning Luffy. Imu’s own named strikes in 1189 are just two, Fragarach (p.8) and Xingtian (p.13). The argument survives in corrected form, and arguably strengthens: VIZ p.15 attributes the restoration and distribution of the arsenal to Imu personally and by decree — “The Great One used OMEN to bring them back and grant them to us!!” — i.e. Imu is the sovereign who restored the founding weapons and handed them to the noble families, rather than one seat-holder among a committee. An origin that must accommodate 800 years of personal sovereignty over a human political order, a named noble house and an honorific (“KING OF THE WORLD ST. NERONA IMU”, Ch. 1187) still has correspondingly little room for “was literally a bird.” Note also that Omen brought back the weapons, not the Knights — the TCB reading (“revived us”) implied resurrected founders, which was never load-bearing here but is now retracted.
2. The Brook citation was p.12, not p.10, and the polarity was softer than recorded — which helps this note. VIZ has Brook say only “THE ONLY PEOPLE HIGHER THAN THE KNIGHTS OF GOD… …ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE FIVE ELDERS, AS FAR AS I KNOW…”, and a second, unidentified speaker merely guesses “SO MAYBE HE’S THE KNIGHTS’ COMMANDER…? I BET THAT’S IT!!” Nobody on-page concludes the sovereign outranks the Knights. The point the entry was making — that the cast is reduced to inference, the opposite of an origin disclosure — is therefore stronger than recorded: the only guess anyone ventures is wrong.

Also corrected for the record: 1188’s title is “Vohu”, not “Wailing Void”; the blade on p.15 is “BLADE OF NOTHINGNESS— VOHU.”; “Caught-You-Slipping Bullet” is Luffy’s blow landing on Imu (p.13), never one of Imu’s weapons; and the “elderly bearded Elbaf giant” the TCB read into 1188 is Luffy in the giant Gum-Gum Genie form. None is avian-relevant. The eye-studded void-serpent noted below survives correction and remains reptilian, not avian.

Why still open. Unchanged and now doubly grounded: what Imu is remains sealed. Ch. 1191 p.4 is still the sharpest statement of that — Gaban refuses to classify him at all (“Who he is… is not something anyone ought to know!!”). Per the anti-pattern guard, five straight windows of consistent non-avian art are not the origin panel, and the ceiling stays where 1192’s feathered wings put it.
