- 'Nerona' (ネロナ) — Imu's dynastic surname, revealed @1086 ('St. Imu of the Nerona Dynasty,' Sabo's deduction, p. 13). Two layers (detailed on Imu): (1) the katakana ネロナ visually compose the strokes of the kanji 神 ('god/kami'), pairing with Imu's own イム → 仏 ('Buddha') for a 'God-Buddha' divinity-stack befitting the World Government's hidden sovereign; (2) 'Nerona' evokes the Roman emperor NERO — the burner-tyrant who scapegoated and erased his enemies (cf. the Great Fire of Rome) — rhyming with Imu's bounty-defacement / 'strike any name from history' MO. The Nerona line is set apart from the nineteen founding houses that ascended to Celestial-Dragon status at Mariejoa: it kept the seat of the Empty Throne.

Why this family matters (plot weight)
The Nerona Dynasty is named on-page Ch. 1086 (p. 13): among “the first 20 who created the world [~800 years ago]… there was a monarch named St. Imu of the Nerona Dynasty” (Sabo’s deduction). It places the World Government’s hidden sovereign among the twenty founding monarchies — but, unlike the nineteen who relocated to Mariejoa as Celestial Dragons, Imu of the Nerona line kept the seat of the Empty Throne. Because Imu still lives ~800 years later, the naming implies a method of everlasting life (see Means To Create Everlasting Life Exist In This World). The only known member is Imu.
Ch. 1179 p. 17 the surname goes caption-canonical in VIZ styling “ST. NERONA IMU,” titled “KING OF THE WORLD” and “CREATOR OF THE WORLD GOVERNMENT (ONE OF THE FIRST 20)” — upgrading the @1086 Sabo-deduction to an omniscient-narrator caption.
