How surprising that their sons are blood-brothers. ” / “You’re both criminals by blood!! ” (pp. 12–15). Two carriers of the D. initial (Ace , Luffy ) publicly bound to the Pirate King and the world’s most-wanted revolutionary, in front of the watching world. Whitebeard’s final-stand declaration makes the generational-torch theme textual: he names himself “a relic of a bygone era ” who “can’t be carried into the new age ,” then heralds that “a new age is coming!! ” as he passes the seas to a coming generation (Ch. 572 pp. 15–17).
