Chapter 319: Admiral Aokiji of the Navy Headquarters

New reveals

• The far-off bicycle figure named “Admiral Aokiji” in Ch. 303 is now shown fully and confronts the Straw Hats at Long Ring Long Land. Nico Robin recognizes him instantly and is rattled — “We go way back” / “I’ve never seen Robin so agitated” (pp. 1–2).
• Marine command structure canonized: there are only three Admirals — Kizaru, Aokiji, Akainu — and the World Government calls these three “the ultimate military force” (p. 4). The only rank above them is Fleet Admiral Sengoku, commander of the Navy (p. 4). First on-page articulation of the Admiral tier and the Fleet-Admiral-above-three-Admirals hierarchy.
• Editor’s footnote canonizes the color-animal naming: “AKAINU = RED DOG, AOKIJI = BLUE PHEASANT, KIZARU = YELLOW MONKEY” (p. 4). First on-page printing of all three names side by side (Kizaru and Akainu are named only, not shown — shown only in shadowed silhouette).

• Ice powers demonstrated: “Ice Age” freezes the whole sea into a “continent of ice” (Aokiji: “This will hold for a week,” p. 15) and freezes a sea king solid; an “Ice Block”-style technique blasts the monster (pp. 11–14).
• Aokiji’s mission: he came “to verify Nico Robin’s whereabouts after she disappeared from Alabasta,” and to “report to headquarters” the crew’s increased total bounty after adding Robin — but he states “I don’t at all intend to capture you, so don’t worry” (pp. 6–7).
• “Lazy Justice”: Aokiji’s self-described Marine motto is “lazy justice” — he’s a “super lazy guy,” sleeps standing up, and is a very light sleeper who overheard the crew’s whole conversation (pp. 6, 8).
• Luffy’s grandfather connection: Aokiji tells Luffy “you’re just like your gramps, Monkey D. Luffy… you’re wild, you have no self-control,” and reveals “I owed a debt to your grandpa a long time ago” and “I came here to get a glimpse of Nico Robin and… you” (pp. 18–19). Confirms Luffy has a living grandfather known to (and indebted-to-by) a Marine Admiral.
• Cliffhanger: Aokiji, in extreme close-up, says “Maybe you guys had better die now… but I changed my mind” (pp. 19–20) — leaving his intentions toward Robin and the crew ominously open.
