Chapter 431: Fist of Love

Summary

Two days after the Enies Lobby incident, the Sea Train pulls back into a battered Water Seven still reeling from this year’s record Aqua Laguna; Paulie leads Galley-La Company in rebuilding the city while Franky sketches plans to one day make the whole sinking island float. The exhausted, two-days-asleep Luffy eats in his sleep at the temporary pirate quarters as Kokoro, Chimney, Gonbe and Yokozuna arrive and Water Seven officials return the crew’s confiscated belongings — including Nami’s tangerine trees. Franky tells the legend of the Treasure Tree Adam, reveals he secretly bought its wood with the Straw Hats’ money, and offers to build them a “ship of dreams” — the same legendary wood used for Gold Roger’s Oro Jackson. Just as the crew celebrates, Vice-Admiral Garp — the navy man who cornered the Pirate King in Roger’s era — smashes through the Galley-La wall, punches the sleeping Luffy awake with a “Fist of Love,” and is revealed to be Luffy’s grandfather.
