Chapter 769: Bellamy the Pirate

Summary

On the King’s Plateau, Law presses his attack on Doflamingo (backed by Trebol), but Doflamingo turns every strike aside with his strings (Spider’s Web, String Saw) and lectures Law that his lethal plan failed because he let his feelings for Corazon override it — Corazon’s last message was an attempt “to save Dressrosa.” Doflamingo declares that everything that happened — Corazon’s death, Law eating the Op-Op fruit, all of it — is simply “reality,” which he “forgives” with death, “the same way I forgave my father and brother.” As Doflamingo cocks a gun to execute Law, Luffy bursts up with Jet Gatling — only to shred a string “Dofy-Double.” Below, Doflamingo discards the dying Bellamy (“you’re a waste of space”), cutting his puppet-strings. In flashback, young Bellamy idolizes Doflamingo, who lends the Bellamy Pirates the use of the Donquixote jolly roger. Realizing he “chose the wrong man to idolize” yet refusing to be pathetic enough to lash out at Doflamingo, Bellamy turns on Luffy instead — “this is my final battle, Straw Hat!!!” — and attacks with a far stronger Spring Hopper. The chapter closes on a Vol. 77 SBS Question Corner.
