The 1190–1192 window did not touch the Davy column and did not settle anything — but it did surface something this note had never recorded, and it is the reason for the +1 support.

The “Dawn” prefix has been in a D.-bearer’s mouth since Ch. 1070. The Ch. 1192 etymology pass (Luffy Prefixes His Gear-5 Finishers With Dawn) established that every Gear-5 finisher is printed 白い (shiroi, “white”) and read ドーン (Dōn, “Dawn”) — a bilingual pun invisible in the English lettering. Dawn Whip, Dawn Rocket, Dawn Stamp, Dawn Gatling, and both @1192 finishers (Gum-Gum Dawn Kraken Gatling, Gum-Gum Dawn Thor Bullet) all carry it. So Luffy — a D., born on Dawn Island, in a series whose first chapter is titled Romance Dawn — has been shouting the word in his own technique names for 120 chapters, and the vault only noticed at 1192 because that is the first chapter where both named attacks carry it.

Worth recording that the theory is not dead: Ch. 1189’s Imu — “Monkey D. Luffy… such a detestable name to Mu” — treats the initial as a hated name, which the Dawn reading (D.-bearers as the carriers of a prophesied dawn the regime has spent 800 years delaying) satisfies exactly as well as the Davy reading does.
