Sabaody Archipelago — on the auction block (referenced, not on-page) (Ch. 501)

• Discussed at Marine HQ: a vice admiral receives word that the “Dark King” Rayleigh is being sold “as they would any old man” at a Sabaody slave auction (reportedly to cover gambling debts), and buries the report — even from Fleet Admiral Sengoku — judging the navy cannot fight “two legends at the same time” with the war brewing (pp. 2-3).

Sabaody Archipelago (Ch. 500) — first on-page appearance

• First on-page appearance (pp. 18-19; DOON splash p. 19): captioned “The Pirate King’s Right Arm / Former Roger Pirates First Mate.” Working as a ship-coater at the Human Auction Hall, he silently fells the auctioneer Disco with Haki — a targeted, blow-less knockout — when Disco moves to kick the caged Camie. Self-describes as “an old man who coats ships.”

• As a young Roger Pirate at God Valley, Rayleigh breaks through a mob of Shakuyaku’s would-be rescuers and cuts down her captor — the Holy Knight St. Sommers — with “Spider Lily Steel” (p. 18), answering her smuggled note “Come and get me — Shakuyaku.” The two embrace (“Oh, Ray!!!”); this is the on-page origin of the Rayleigh/Shakky bond.
