Summary

A celebratory color spread (pp. 1–2) opens the chapter; the story proper resumes at the Royal Plateau as “Lucy” (Luffy) re-enters his fight with a battered Doflamingo, both fighters nearly spent. Doflamingo, mocking that Luffy’s Haki “just barely returned,” unleashes a barrage of string techniques — Ever White (turning the whole town into strings), Thousand Arrows, Flapping Thread, and Spider Web — while Luffy answers with Armament Haki to shred the threads. Luffy’s first Gear 4 finisher fizzles from over-strain; a flashback to Silvers Rayleigh reveals Gear 4 places “too much strain on the body” and that a different method is still needed. Goaded by Doflamingo’s cruelty (“you were born to be human refuse and heedless puppets”), Luffy re-activates Gear 4, breaks free of the strings, clashes midair against Doflamingo’s Sixteen Holy Bullets and God Thread, and lands the Gum-Gum King Kong Gun. As the blow connects, narration recalls that, in a certain land, those who carry the “D.” are known as “the enemies of the gods,” driving the colossal fist down through Doflamingo and the Royal Plateau.
