Era: Wano — Flower Capital (Ch. 929 )
Headliners / Tobi Roppo defined: the Tobi Roppo (“Flying Six”) are the six most powerful members of the Headliners tier (p. 17). Two of them — X Drake (Allosaurus) and Page One (Spinosaurus) — wield Ancient-Zoan Ryu Ryu no Mi dinosaur fruits, distinct from the SMILE -based Gifters. Both are sent to the Flower Capital to kill the “Soba Cook” (Sanji ).

Era: Wano — Flower Capital raid + Udon Sumo Inferno (Ch. 936 )
Tobi Roppo (Flying Six) named again: X Drake leads the Flower Capital bathhouse raid hunting “Soba Mask” (Sanji ) (p. 10).
Headliner rank reaffirmed: Basil Hawkins is called “the Headliner from the Animal Kingdom Pirates ,” sent to handle “the small stuff” at the raid (p. 10).
The All-Star Queen runs the Udon Prisoner Mines, staging the Sumo Inferno death-match (explosive kill-collars) against Luffy and the prisoners (pp. 4-9).
Era: Wano occupation — Udon Prisoner Mines (Ch. 939 )
New Gifter Madilloman (Armadillo SMILE) wields Sea-Prism-Stone pistols , said to be “only made in Wano,” firing on Luffy during Queen ’s execution-sumo (p. 10). The old yakuza boss Hyogoro topples the Gifter Alpacaman with internal-destruction Haki (pp. 16–17). (current_roster += Madilloman; evidence_chapters += 0939.) See SMILE , Sea-Prism Stone .
Era: Wano — the rank-and-file SMILE hierarchy explained (Ch. 943 )
The crew’s basic-fighter hierarchy is named and explained on-page for the first time, keyed to SMILE outcome (pp. 10–11):
Waiters — have not eaten a fruit yet (still waiting for a power).
Pleasures — ate a SMILE and failed; left with nothing but eternal laughter (no power; can’t swim; can’t feel anything but mirth).
Gifters — the lucky 1-in-10 who gained an animal power.
Confirms the crew is built on the 10%-success SMILE supply chain ; the masterminds Kaido , Orochi and Doflamingo (the off-Wano supplier) are shown grinning together (p. 11). (evidence_chapters += 0943.) See SMILE .
Era: Wano — Udon (Big Mom storms the camp) (Ch. 945 )
The All-Star Queen is confirmed warden-master of the Udon Excavation Labor Camp and again called a “Lead Performer ” (p. 15); his Devil Fruit is named on-page — the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Ancient Model: Brachiosaurus (Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model Brachiosaurus , p. 17) — joining the crew’s Ancient-Zoan dinosaur line. The allied Headliner Basil Hawkins holds Udon ’s hostages (Law’s Heart Pirates ). The amnesiac Big Mom (“Olin”) breaches the camp gates and flattens Queen at the cliffhanger (pp. 13–18). (evidence_chapters += 0945; Queen’s devil_fruit now named — see Queen .)
Era: Wano — Udon (Big Mom recaptured & shipped to Onigashima) (Ch. 947 )
Lead Performer Queen springs “Queen’s gamble ”: he lures the rampaging amnesiac Big Mom (“Olin”) with oshiruko, transforms into his Brachiosaurus dinosaur form (Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model Brachiosaurus ) and lands a Brachio Bomber — the blow restores her memory instead of knocking her out (pp. 11–14). He binds her in 100% sea-prism cuffs and ships her to Onigashima under “double-maximum security,” then leaves Babanuki in command of a locked-down Udon (prisoners cell-locked, gates shut, snails sealed). “Wano is Kaido’s turf” (p. 9). (evidence_chapters += 0947.)
Era: Wano — Onigashima: Big Mom’s arrival & the Yonko clash (Ch. 951 )
Queen hauls the cuffed Big Mom to Onigashima ; King (revealed to have knocked her ship off the falls) refuses her recruitment offer. Kaido descends and orders Big Mom freed over Queen/King’s objections — a crewman’s aside revealing that he and Big Mom “were in the same pirate crew” long ago. The two Emperors immediately clash in a world-shaking collision, forcing a crew-wide evacuation of Onigashima (pp. 14–19).
Era: Onigashima — the Tobi Roppo revealed (Ch. 978 )

Notable events
Momonosuke publicly proclaims “Kaido! Orochi! The Animal Kingdom Pirates!! …has been vanquished!!!” — the Beasts Pirates’ defeat is announced to all of Wano. (Their tamed Gifters/Numbers under Otama ’s dango will revert in ~1 month, p. 7.) (evidence_chapters += 1051; no roster change — the crew is defeated.)
Ch. 1041 pp. 12-14 — Beasts morale collapses
Beasts Pirates morale collapses: on hearing that the man who emerges from Luffy ’s fight “turns out to be Kaido ,” the rank-and-file lose “the willpower left to resist”; news of Big Mom ’s fall (“BIG MOM HAS FALLEN IN BATTLE!!”) spreads panic across the island. (evidence_chapters += 1041; roster unchanged — the crew is breaking.)
Ch. 1036 — King falls; the Numbers across the island
King (All-Star / Lead Performer) is defeated by Zoro outside the dome (pp. 3–6); the lead performers and Tobi Roppo are reported “all down.” Several Numbers (the Beasts’ ancient-giant enforcers) act across the island: Rokki guards the basement-armory door (p. 8) and is felled by Fuga — a tusked giant turned to Otama ’s side (p. 9); Zanki is beaten by X Drake (p. 15); Inbi helps Orochi ’s group flee (p. 14). (current_roster += Rokki (standalone note), Inbi (roster line); evidence_chapters += 1036. Numbers recorded as roster lines per the established pattern — only Rokki gets a standalone note (on-page + individually labeled).)
Ch. 1030 — Numbers in the Cave Chamber; Hamlet commandeered
Two giant Numbers (name-captioned Fuga and Zanki , p. 2) flank Scratchmen Apoo as he confronts the navy spy X Drake in a “Cave Chamber” (p. 2–4). Elsewhere, the giraffe-SMILE Headliner Hamlet is commandeered as a mount by Usopp (p. 6). (current_roster += Fuga, Zanki; evidence_chapters += 1030. Numbers recorded as roster lines per the established pattern — no standalone notes.)
Ch. 1021 — Tobi Roppo Black Maria defeated on the Live Floor
The Tobi Roppo Black Maria is defeated on the Live Floor by Nico Robin + Brook — crushed by Robin’s Demonio Fleur / Grand Jacuzzi Clutch (pp. 13); her hall subordinates are then cut down by Brook (pp. 14–15). (evidence_chapters += 1021; roster unchanged — defeated, not removed.)
Ch. 1018 pp. 2, 5 — the raid attrition tally
The Animal Kingdom Pirates “started with 30,000 and have dropped to 20,000 ” (p. 5). Otama ’s cheek-dango command has defected ~300 Headliners/Gifters outright (p. 2), with ~1,000 traitors-plus-followers flipping per CP-0’s count, putting the on-floor balance at “16,000 versus 9,000.” (evidence_chapters += 1018; roster unchanged.)
Ch. 1011 — the Kaido/Big Mom alliance fractures over Okobore Town
The alliance cracks: Big Mom turns on the Beasts Pirates over the burning of Okobore Town , smashing the dinosaur-Zoan Gifters defending against the Straw Hats (pp. 18–19). Tobi Roppo Page One and Ulti arrive at the scene as the chapter closes (p. 19). On the third floor, Headliner Basil Hawkins intercepts Kid and Killer and fortune-tells Killer a 92% chance of death. (evidence_chapters += 1011; roster unchanged.) See Big Mom’s Debt to Okobore Town .
Ch. 1006 —
the Live-Floor assault stalls against the alliance’s “impenetrable defensive wall”; King & Queen pinned by Marco; the Ice-Oni plague spreads
The Beasts’ assault on the Live Floor has stalled against the alliance’s “impenetrable defensive wall”; All-Stars King and Queen are tied up by Marco while Queen ’s Ice Oni plague spreads, and Apoo admits the crew “can’t last any longer.” X Drake ’s defection (“betrayed us to join the enemy”) is openly resented (pp. 9, 14–18).
Ch. 1004 —
Otama’s dumpling-conversion flips the Gifters from within; Franky vs Sasaki’s Armored Division; Black Maria captures Sanji & is ordered to execute the Scabbards
Otama — aided by Speed , Usopp and Franky — mass-converts the crew’s Gifters and Headliners (Daifugo , Gazelle-Man , an Armored Division) with cheek-dango dumplings disguised as “Master Queen’s special tonics,” turning Kaido’s SMILE army against itself (pp. 2–13). Sasaki ’s Armored Division is overrun when its own Gifters defect; Ulti & Page One arrive to find the betrayal underway (pp. 9–12). In the Banquet Hall, Black Maria webs Sanji and demands he summon Nico Robin (Kaido ’s order: capture-and-read, not kill); King then orders her to the treasure room to execute the escaped, wounded Scabbards (pp. 14–16).
Ch. 997 —
the island lifts; Black Maria traps Sanji; two new Headliners posted
Kaido (dragon form) generates flame clouds and raises all of Onigashima into the sky, declaring “New Onigashima” and “the World of Violence.” On the third floor, Tobi Roppo Black Maria snares Sanji in her spider-web “Naughty Trap” (pp. 2–5). Two new Headliners — Poker (Rattlesnake SMILE) and Mizerka (Gorilla SMILE) — are posted on an upper castle floor as the Straw Hats climb (p. 6); Zoro cuts down the Beasts-allied Scratchmen Apoo on the Performance Floor (pp. 7–11).
Ch. 996 —
Sasaki’s Armored Corps on the Right-Brain Tower floor; Beasts beasts on the Forehead floor
Tobi Roppo Sasaki , commanding his “Armored Corps ,” confronts Kaido’s child Yamato on the Right-Brain Tower floor (”…I take that as an insult, Master Yamato”) and is hit by Franky ’s Nari-Kabura Arrow when Franosuke crashes the fight (pp. 5–9). On the Forehead-floor “Animal Kingdom Bath,” the crew’s baboon beasts are fielded against Otama , Komachiyo and Hihimaru (pp. 2–3). (evidence_chapters += 0996; no roster change.)
Ch. 994 —
Queen’s Ice-Oni bioweapon; two new Headliners; the CP0 kill-order on Momonosuke
On the Performance Floor, All-Star Queen unleashes the Ice Oni virus — skin-contact contagious, fatal within ~1 hour, driving the infected berserk against ally and enemy alike — and frames it as a lethal “Game Night ,” ordering “Zolo” and the Informant Scratchmen Apoo to keep the antidote from the samurai for an hour (pp. 8–13). Two Headliners are named+shown as Luffy and Jinbei smash up through the castle toward Kin’emon: Hamlet (Giraffe SMILE ) and Fourtricks (Chicken SMILE) (pp. 6–7). In the Right-Brain Tower, two unnamed CP0 agents move to kill Momonosuke but are intercepted by Kaido’s child Yamato . See SMILE , Queen’s Virus Hobby Foreshadows His Bio-Weapon Arsenal .
Ch. 993 —
Queen’s Ice-Oni plague; the Headliner Briscola felled; the kill-order on Momonosuke
Queen unleashes a new Plague Round, “Ice Oni,” sealing a Skull Dome tower floor (pp. 5-6). The Headliner Briscola (Gorilla SMILE ) attacks Sanji and Jinbei to avenge his men and is defeated by Jinbe’s Shark Brick Fist (pp. 7-9). Via the broadcaster Bao Huang , King reports the raid force at “~5,400 — most of them samurai rallying around Oden’s vassals,” frames it as a Kozuki rebellion to enthrone Momonosuke , and orders Momonosuke killed (p. 10). The Tobi Roppo Sasaki brings his Armored Division against Yamato (p. 13). (evidence_chapters += 0993; current_roster += Briscola .)
Ch. 991 —
the Numbers conducted by Apoo; Jack beaten; Kaido intervenes; X Drake defects openly
The ten giant Numbers (incl. Haccha ) are deployed on the Live Floor, conducted by the Informant Scratchmen Apoo ’s sound-based “fighting music” (he can summon more at will). All-Star Jack is overwhelmed by the Sulong Minks and Kaido roars in to defend him (“Jack is one of my handpicked Lead Performers!!!”). Tobi Roppo X Drake is exposed as a traitor (he freed Trafalgar Law ) and openly defects , attacking a Number and aligning with Luffy (pp. 8–15).
Ch. 990 —
King’s orders; the Numbers on the Live Floor; X Drake defects
King radios the headliners by Den Den Mushi: “5,000 intruders upon our feast for 30,000 ,” the biggest disaster in Onigashima’s history; the internal contest to capture Yamato (prize: the right to challenge a Lead Performer) is suspended (pp. 7–8). The giant Numbers are deployed on the Live Floor against the alliance (pp. 11–16). Tobi Roppo X Drake is exposed as a traitor — the Beasts learn he freed Trafalgar Law in the Flower Capital — and defects , attacking a Number and declaring himself an “army of one” (pp. 14–17). See SWORD , Drake’s Army Of One Declaration Encodes SWORDs Solo Operatives .
Ch. 987 —
the feast erupts into open war; the converging factions revealed
The Beasts Pirates’ Onigashima feast erupts into open war: Kaido is wounded and screaming, headliners scramble (“It’s a raid!! Grab your weapons!!”), the Tobi Roppo’s Ulti engages Yamato, Queen dismisses the invaders, and the crew learns Marco, Perospero, Law, and the Udon prisoners have all converged on the island. (Pages 5–16)
Ch. 983 —
the raid interior: Ulti’s fruit named; Page One down; Kaido’s son turns coat
Inside the Skull Dome the Tobi Roppo Ulti transforms into her Ancient-Zoan Pachycephalosaurus form (Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model Pachycephalosaurus — her Devil Fruit named & shown on-page , p. 11) and craters the floor headbutting Luffy (“Ulti-Mortar” / “Ulti-Meteor”); her younger brother Page One is KO’d by Luffy’s Elephant Gun (p. 14). The Gifters number “nearly 500” and swarm Zoro and Kid (offering “promotion” for kills, pp. 6–7). Kaido’s son Yamato fells Ulti with Kaido’s own “Thunder Bagua” to aid Luffy , and is pursued by the crew “on Master Kaido’s orders” (pp. 15–17).
The night of the raid converges on Kaido’s castle. At the banquet, Black Maria holds the captive Momonosuke for Orochi (“Give me Momonosuke, Black Maria!!”, p. 8). Sasaki patrols Onigashima for Kaido ’s missing child (p. 12) and is felled the same chapter by Denjiro — disguised as “Kyoshiro ” — who slips the Southern force into the dome (pp. 12-13). Ulti and Page One search the dome’s interior for the child and collide with Luffy at the cliffhanger (“Who the hell are you?”, pp. 16-17). Fukurokuju reports to Orochi that the Worst Generation have landed with four pirates on the performance floor (pp. 6-7).
Ch. 981 — the Onigashima floor erupts; Tobi Roppo & Numbers surface
Kid ’s attack exposes Scratchmen Apoo as Kaido ’s informant ; Queen grants “permission to kill.” A Number, Haccha , is named on-page (name box, p. 7) and rampages out of control. Two Tobi Roppo feature: Black Maria (her newer Pleasure Hall on the wisteria bridge is shown; she appears only as a screen-silhouette — design concealed) and Sasaki (named, hunting glory). The Beasts are anxiously searching for Yamato (“find Yamato and report in”, p. 10). (evidence_chapters += 0981; current_roster += Haccha.)
Ch. 980 —
Apoo embedded in the Beasts; the Tobi Roppo seat offered as a bounty
Scratchmen Apoo is shown embedded in the Beasts Pirates at Onigashima — placed “in charge of Udon ,” acting as the Fire Festival ’s DJ/announcer and broadcasting the intruders (p. 8). The Tobi Roppo (Flying Six) officer tier is named on-page, and a leader (Queen ) offers to vacate one Tobi Roppo seat as a capture bounty (p. 9). Gifters confirmed as SMILE -fruit users (p. 9–10). (evidence_chapters += 0980; current_roster unchanged — Apoo’s affiliation is tracked on his own note.)
Ch. 978 —
the Tobi Roppo revealed; the rank tiers named on the festival floor
Paying off the silhouette tease of Ch. 977 , all six Tobi Roppo (“Flying Six”) are shown individually at the Onigashima Golden Festival (pp. 15-17): Who’s-Who , Page One , Ulti , Sasaki , X Drake , Black Maria . Queen , performing as festival MC, names the rank tiers live (pp. 13-15): Waiters (awaiting SMILE fruits), Pleasures (lost the bet and laugh), Gifters (blessed with powers), Headliners (the chosen Gifters), the Tobi Roppo , and the Numbers . Family reveal: Ulti and Page One are siblings. The six were summoned by Kaido on “urgent” business (the imminent New Onigashima announcement) and left waiting; they gossip about who would become the next lead performer if an All-Star fell.
Ch. 977 —
the Tobi Roppo arrive at Onigashima
All six Tobi Roppo arrive at the feast and are announced to Kaido — “Master Kaido, all six of the Tobi Roppo are present!!”; Kaido roars “SEND THEM IN!!!” (pp. 16-17). Shown only as silhouetted feet — no individual member revealed yet . Reinforces the kabuki-theatre rank theme (飛び六方 tobi roppō ) already noted in this crew’s name etymology.
On Orochi’s orders the Beasts forces sank the Itachi-Port ships and tore down the inter-region bridges to strand the rebels, gloating the rebels are “small-timers… captured in Wano once before” (pp. 5-7) — then have their fleet shredded by the three Supernovas (pp. 7-9) and their cannons disabled by the turncoat “Kyoshiro” (p. 11).
Acting on Kanjuro ’s leaked intel, Kaido ’s fleet lay in ambush off Tokage Port (told to “sink a few samurai in a rowboat”). The arriving Worst Generation sank the waiting ships, and the Beasts crew realize their targets are the Supernovas they “thought were locked up” (pp. 12, 15–17).
Ch. 970 —
Oden flashback (~24 yrs ago)
Kaido fields ~1,000 pirates and his “Numbers” against the eleven loyalist samurai in Oden ’s day; the battle “lasted longer than expected” as Oden wounds Kaido before Orochi ’s hostage trick turns it. (evidence_chapters += 0970. Flashback beat — no roster change. The queue’s “set last_appearance 0970” is moot — this note has no last_appearance field.)
Ch. 955 —
named only (strength tally)
The alliance’s intel puts the Animal Kingdom Pirates at ~20,000 soldiers ; with Shogun Orochi ’s ~10,000-strong procession, ~30,000 enemies are expected at Onigashima on raid day against the alliance’s ~4,000–4,200 (p. 8). (evidence_chapters += 0955. Named-only — no roster change.)
The crew runs the Udon Excavation Labor Camp prison-mine. Queen (“the Plague”), an All-Star / Lead Performer , gets a full-page intro splash and his bounty ฿1,320,000,000 is established (pp. 8–9). Three SMILE-Zoan Headliner wardens are shown: Babanuki (Elephant SMILE, Chief Warden, p. 7), Daifugo (Scorpion SMILE, p. 5), Solitaire (Monkey SMILE, p. 2). Babanuki’s “top three worries” report (p. 10) confirms Eustass Kid escaped and Luffy is escaping. See SMILE , An Unnamed Emperor Is Amassing A SMILE Zoan Army .
Captain Kaido makes his first true on-page COMBAT appearance, descending on Bakura Town in dragon form (drunk) and fighting Luffy : he is driven into human form by Luffy’s Gear-Third Elephant Gatling (his first human-form reveal), shrugs off Gear Fourth, and one-shots Luffy with Thunder Bagua . Wano citizens hail him “Supreme Commander Kaido ” (p. 12); intrigued by the boy, Kaido spares him. (evidence_chapters += 0923. See Kaido .)
Supreme Commander Kaido rampages across Kuri in dragon form (drunk), continuing his on-page debut from Ch. 921 . Basil Hawkins is named a Headliner (“Ain’t that the Headliner…?”) and steers Kaido with a deliberate lie (no cards shown), redirecting him to raze the empty Oden Castle ruins; Jack is shown alive but badly wounded, recovering in the Kuri forest. The chapter title formalizes Kaido’s top-rank epithet, “Supreme Commander .” (evidence_chapters += 0922.)
Kaido ’s on-page debut — a colossal Eastern dragon descends over Kuri (pp. 18–19), summoning Lead Performer Jack (“Bring those children… to me at once…” / “Yes, sir!!”). Jack, recovered from Zou , had been dispatched to bring the thief boss Shutenmaru into the crew as a subordinate (caption: “Animal Kingdom Pirates Lead Performer — Jack,” p. 13).
First on-page look at the crew’s Headliner rank as a fielded SMILE force inside Wano: Speed (Horse SMILE, p. 4) and Holdem (Lion SMILE / belly-lion Kamijiro, p. 6) — the first on-page SMILE users in Kaido ’s crew . The crew runs Wano as an extortion state: clean Paradise Farm food feeds the pirates (the “Food Treasure Barge”) while Okobore Town starves. Jack is confirmed alive — now “in control of Kuri ” as Kaido’s right-hand (pp. 8-9). Luffy blasts Holdem with Red Hawk rescuing Otama (pp. 16-17). See SMILE , An Unnamed Emperor Is Amassing A SMILE Zoan Army .
The Headliner Holdem runs Bakura Town and holds the captive Otama in his mansion. When Luffy launches the beaten yokozuna Urashima through Holdem’s building, Holdem refuses to surrender Otama and threatens to crush her in his Lion SMILE belly-lion’s jaws — another on-page confirmation that the crew’s Gifters bear artificial animal grafts (SMILE ). He brands the intruders likely “followers of the thief Shutenmaru .” (evidence_chapters += 0916.) See An Unnamed Emperor Is Amassing A SMILE Zoan Army .
Headliner Basil Hawkins and his footmen, patrolling Kuri , engage the disguised Luffy & Zoro . Hawkins’s Straw-Straw powers (Wara Wara no Mi ) are shown in full — strawman stand-in lives (“Minus one life”) + a tarot “game”; after being beaten back he survives on stored lives, and his men debate pursuit (pp. 2–14). First full on-page demonstration of a Headliner’s Devil Fruit. (evidence_chapters += 0913.)
The Wano occupation detailed: Kaido’s forces ravage the countryside into a lawless, poisoned wasteland ; powerful samurai were captured or driven to banditry (pp. 7, 15). A new headliner, X Drake , joined ~1 year prior and razed Amigasa Village , killing its five protector samurai (p. 7). The crew operates in alliance with Shogun Orochi ; runs a weapons factory/mine and keeps a private clean-food farm (clean water, rice, fish, meat) reserved for the Shogun and Kaido while the populace starves (p. 15). (evidence_chapters += 0912; current_roster += X Drake.)
Basil Hawkins is a “Headliner” of the crew (title-card p. 20) — the first on-page naming of the Headliner officer rank, and the first Supernova shown to have joined Kaido . The crew occupies Wano as a police force: footmen patrol the beach of Kuri , arrest “servants of the Kozuki clan,” and route surveillance signals “up to Kaido.” A factory of Kaido’s pollutes Wano’s rivers (p. 19). Hawkins holds the intruder report back from Kaido and declares “I will go” (p. 20). (evidence_chapters += 0911; current_roster += Hawkins.) See Otama’s Cheek-Dango Power Tames Any Beast To Absolute Loyalty .
Their captain (the crying-drunk Emperor Kaido , shadowed/unnamed on-page) is shown; his ambition is named: “the greatest crew ever, entirely out of power users.” The SMILE supply deal with “Joker” (Doflamingo ) is over after Doflamingo’s capture — no more Gifters can be made ; Jack ’s bid to recapture Joker failed. The crew crushes the Kid Pirates for trespassing on “my business” (pp. 10–13). See Kaido’s All-Power-User Army Of Gifters .
