Summary
On the Skull Dome’s Live Floor, X Drake stuns the alliance by attacking his own side’s Numbers; he tells Luffy he “cannot say why” but their “goals are aligned,” and Kid/Killer warn Luffy not to trust a coat-turner even as Killer waves Straw Hat on toward the castle to reach Kaido. The fight fractures into pairings: Usopp and Nami face Page One (“Pay-pay”) and his doting, volatile sister Ulti; Sanji peels off to fight Scratchmen Apoo; and Franky (“General Franky”) wades into the Numbers. Apoo — captioned as the Beasts’ Informant — reveals he can conduct the ten ancient-giant Numbers like an orchestra with his sound-based “fighting music,” and turns the swarm (and a gatling weapon) on Drake as a “traitor… make that spy.” High above, Kaido roars “THAT’S ENOUGH!!!” and intervenes for a wounded Jack, who was overwhelmed by the Sulong-transformed Minks under the full moon — Kaido concedes their power “has caused us grievous losses.” Kaido unleashes “Blast Breath” on the Nine Red Scabbards, and Kin’emon’s Foxfire Style “Flame-Rend” splits the flames as the Scabbards refuse to run: they will take Kaido’s head or “just let us die… as Lord Oden’s samurai!!!”
New reveals
- X Drake’s allegiance turns public on the raid floor. He attacks the Numbers (his own side’s units), telling Luffy “I cannot tell you the reason why… but our goals are aligned!” Luffy reads him: “you wanna defeat Kaido, huh?!” Kid/Killer distrust the coat-turn (“just like Hawkins!!!”) but Killer concedes “Sure, he can be on our side” and pushes Luffy toward the castle. (pp. 2-4, 11)
- Scratchmen Apoo = the Beasts’ Informant, and a conductor of the Numbers. His title card reads “Animal Kingdom Pirates, Informant (Captain of the On-Air Pirates), Bounty: 350,000,000.” He calls the ten Numbers (“the ten of you have laid waste to countless towns together”) and drives them with sound attacks — JUKI, GOKI, JAKI — and can summon more at will. (pp. 8-11)
- The Numbers are “ancient giants.” Apoo addresses Haccha and the others: “you gotta teach these people what happens… when ancient giants really let it rip.” There are ten of them; Franky balks, “There’s ten of them?! I don’t have enough cola for this!!” (pp. 8-9)
- The Sulong Minks routed Jack. Under a full moon, the Sulong-transformed Minks (Dog and Cat, plus mink warriors) beat Jack badly enough that Kaido intervenes; Kaido praises whoever “kept the Sulongs in check” and admits the Minks’ Sulong strength “has caused us grievous losses.” (pp. 13-15)
- Kin’emon counters Kaido’s fire. Kaido’s “Blast Breath” is met by Foxfire Style “Flame-Rend,” which cleaves the flame — a tactic Kaido notes “never even occurred to me.” The Scabbards vow to take his head or die as Oden’s samurai. (pp. 16-17)

Open questions raised
- What exactly are X Drake’s “aligned goals” — how far does his SWORD double-agent mission go on the raid floor?
- How are the ten Numbers controlled — is Apoo’s “music” the leash, or just one of several handlers?
- Can the Scabbards (plus the Sulong Minks) actually land a fatal blow on Kaido, or only the scar?
