• REFERENCED only (not shown on-page; King’s status is defeated, fate ambiguous since Ch. 1053). Revealed as the source of the Seraphim’s Lunarian augmentation: “the Seraphim are augmented with none other than his Lunarian blood” — his flame-on-back near-invincibility is reproduced in the units (pp. 6-7).
• Named Alber, “the test subject who escaped from Punk Hazard with Kaido,” tying King’s origin to Vegapunk’s Punk Hazard experiments (p. 7). See Lunarians.

Wano Country — crushed by Ryokugyu at the Udon ruins (Ch. 1053)

• Shown downed/defeated at the Udon ruins and finished off by the newly-arrived Admiral Ryokugyu alongside Queen (p.11).

• In Kaido’s backstory flashback, King is the one Kaido confides his Joy Boy theory to — Kaido tells King that Joy Boy is “the man who shows up to beat me in the future” (p.6, p.16).

• Defeated by Zoro outside the dome (Rightbrain Tower); felled by Enma’s “King of Hell, Three-Sword Style” — caption “Winner: Zolo.” His flaming bird-form plummets. Wano Country — Onigashima Live Floor, vs Zoro (Ch. 1035)

• True name revealed: Alber. A flashback (p. 10) shows a young Kaido freeing him from a World-Government research facility that held Lunarians as test subjects (“the subjects have escaped!!”), renaming him King and making him his right-hand man — “Stay under my wing! I won’t let anyone else have you!!”
• Confirmed a Lunarian (p. 5–6): mask off → black wings, white hair, dark skin; the Beasts Pirates confirm “the rumors were true.” See Lunarians.
• Body mechanic exposed by Zoro (p. 4–5, 11, 14): flame-on = magma-hard defense; flame-out = defense drops — Zoro reads “the rules of his body.” Pays off King’s Mask Concealed A Lunarian The Coveted Near-Extinct Race.

Wano Country — Onigashima, vs Zoro outside the Skull Dome (Ch. 1033)

• Duels Zoro outside the Dome; “A swordsman held back by his own sword!! That’s a new one!!” — observes Enma forcibly draining Zoro’s Haki (pp. 7–8). Uses Imperial Slings and Arrows (p. 10).
• Race revealed: Queen tells Sanji on the Live Floor that King is “a remnant of the extinct Lunarians” — a people who could “survive in any natural environment” and “were known as gods” (p. 4). Wano Country — Onigashima, outside the dome: vs Zoro (Ch. 1032)

• Duels Zoro in pteranodon form; named attack “Imperial Stake” — a laser-like beak beam, framed as how “the pteranodons of the ancient past hunted their prey” (pp. 10–11).
• Blocks Zoro’s slashes with his wings; agrees to “give you a sword-fight” (“I do enjoy a good duel”) (pp. 13–14).
• On-page tells re: his hidden race — flames burn constantly on his back independent of his Zoan form, and he does not bleed; Zoro flags both as belonging to an unknown (non-pteranodon) race. Wano Country — Onigashima, Fire Festival (Ch. 979)

• Title-carded “Animal Kingdom Pirates Lead Performer — KING” (p. 12).
• It was King — not Kaido — who secretly summoned the Tobi Roppo. He notes they are former independent pirate captains “angling for a spot among the Lead Performers,” and frames the crew as a meritocracy — “You climb the ranks with skill.” See Tobi Roppo.
• Has the Headliner Bao Huang recite the day’s festival schedule, and confirms Kaido’s pending “important announcement” concerns “young Master Yamato” (Kaido’s runaway child — first-named this chapter, not yet shown).

Wano Country (Ch. 951)

• Confirmed to have “knocked their ship off the falls” — the Big Mom Pirates’ ship he repelled (callback to ch 930) (p.14).
• Big Mom covets him for his rare, near-extinct race (“one of them might have been lost in the mists of time… but you’re still alive!!!”) and offers him a place in her country; King flatly refuses (p.15). (His species itself is withheld — forward reveal; race stays BLANK.)

Wano Country — the falls defense (Ch. 930)

• Swoops in from Onigashima as the Big Mom Pirates climb the Wano entrance waterfall, and kicks their ships out of the air — “HMPH!! So much fuss over one measly ship!!” (pp. 10-11). Dispatched by Kaido to repel the invading fleet.
• His Devil Fruit is captioned for the first time: the “Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Ancient Type, Pteranodon Model” (Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model Pteranodon) — an Ancient Zoan, flying in a winged dinosaur form (p. 11).
• Shown burning with fire even out of full beast form — an unexplained trait .

Wano Country — Onigashima raid (Ch. 993)

• Via the broadcaster Bao Huang (p. 10), reports the enemy strength at “about 5,400 — most of them samurai rallying around Oden’s vassals,” frames the raid as a Kozuki-clan rebellion to put Momonosuke on the shogun’s throne, and orders Momonosuke killed and his head brought to break the samurai’s will.

• Etymology : name = playing-card face card “King” (highest rank), the Beasts Pirates’ card-themed naming (SBS Vol 98); epithet 火災のキング “King the Conflagration” (VIZ “the Wildfire”) — one of Kaido’s Three Calamities, each named for a natural disaster. Confidence high.
• Etymology refreshed @1035-pass: his true birth-name Alber (アルベル) + the Lunarian design refs (archangel Uriel, moonwort tattoo Botrychium lunaria) are now on-page/in-window and added to the etymology: block. The “Alber” semantics have NO Oda source (only a speculative Mesopotamian-Erbil “four gods” fan reading) — kept at speculative confidence inline.
