- Bakura Town introduced — the prosperous castle town of Kuri inhabited by Shogun Orochi's officials and Kaido's Gifters, in stark contrast to impoverished Okobore Town; ~20 years ago Orochi's henchmen seized the houses, drove out the original residents, and left only the merchants handling necessities
- Wano's rigid class system articulated on-page: a 'warrior class' versus commoners, who from that perspective are 'chattel' whose lives are theirs to take ('whether any of you live or die... is up to me!')
- Holdem debuts — a Headliner of the Animal Kingdom Pirates with the Lion SMILE Fruit: a lion is fused to his abdomen, sharing his body but acting with its own will (it bites his crotch — the 'family jewels attack')
- Gazelle-Man (Gazelle SMILE, superhuman speed) and Mouse-Man (Mouse SMILE) debut as Gifters; Gazelle-Man abducted Otama and ran her to Holdem's mansion
- Holdem holds the captured Otama and, learning she 'tamed a baboon,' concludes she has 'real Devil Fruit powers'; he covets the ability ('also desirable to the enemy') and threatens to extract it with pliers from her cheeks
- Urashima introduced — the undefeated sumo yokozuna of the Flower Capital, running a public tournament in Bakura (19 challengers beaten, 88 broken bones tallied, a 500-gold-koban prize); he publicly courts/harasses Okiku to be his wife
- Okiku reveals real samurai skill: when Urashima brands the commoners 'chattel,' she draws and cleanly slices off the yokozuna's topknot ('It is your heart that is truly low')
- Luffy rides the komainu Komachiyo into Bakura to rescue Otama and fells the gate crowd with a casual burst of Conqueror's Haki

Summary
In Bakura Town, Kuri — the rich castle town where Shogun Orochi’s officials and Kaido’s beast-men live well while Okobore Town starves — a sumo event is underway. The town’s cruelty is shown first in conversation: a Mouse-Man Gifter coaches a Bakura man to seize a lower-class woman by killing all her relatives, and a glutton orders the teahouse’s pet raccoon-dog cooked, because “Wano has a strict class system.” Inside a mansion, the speedy Gifter Gazelle-Man has delivered the kidnapped Otama to the Headliner Holdem, whose Lion SMILE grafts a willful lion onto his belly. Holdem, having heard Otama tamed a baboon, deduces she wields “real Devil Fruit powers,” covets the ability, and threatens to tear it from her cheeks with pliers as she cries for “big bro Loo-fee.” At the front gate, Luffy charges in on the komainu Komachiyo to save her, blurts out their rescue plan, and flattens the hostile crowd with a wave of Haki. Ahead in the square, the undefeated yokozuna Urashima (Flower Capital’s champion, 19 foes broken) runs a 500-koban prize tournament and again pressures Okiku to be his bride. When the crowd learns she is a lowly Okobore “outsider” and turns on her, and Urashima declares commoners “chattel” whose lives are his to take, Okiku draws her blade and shears off his topknot — “It is your heart that is truly low.” Luffy and Zoro are delighted; Zoro notes the insult should flush out the town’s boss in a hurry.
New reveals
- Bakura Town — the prosperous town of Kuri for Orochi’s officials and Kaido’s Gifters; opposite of Okobore Town. ~20 years ago Orochi’s henchmen seized whatever houses they wanted and drove the rest of the residents out, leaving “only the merchants handling necessities.” (pp. 1-2, 10-11)
- Wano’s class system, stated outright: a warrior class ranked above commoners, who are “chattel” — “whether any of you live or die… is up to me.” Serving the Shogun is barred to the lower class. (pp. 2-3, 16)
- Holdem — Headliner of the Animal Kingdom Pirates, Lion SMILE Fruit: a lion’s head/forepaws jut from his abdomen and share his body, but the lion has its own will and bites him (“the lion’s patented family jewels attack”). (pp. 5-6)
- Gazelle-Man (Gazelle SMILE; superhuman speed) and Mouse-Man (Mouse SMILE) debut as Gifters; Gazelle-Man abducted Otama and carried her to Holdem’s mansion. (pp. 3-5)
- Otama has “real Devil Fruit powers.” Holdem, told she tamed a baboon, concludes her cheek ability is a Devil Fruit, calls it “desirable to the enemy,” and prepares to extract it with pliers from her cheeks. (pp. 5-7)
- Urashima — undefeated yokozuna of the Flower Capital: 19 challengers beaten, doctors tally 88 broken bones plus four missing contestants, a 500 gold-koban prize to anyone who beats him. He courts Okiku publicly. (pp. 12-14)
- Okiku is a real swordsman. She draws and cleanly cuts off Urashima’s topknot. (p. 17)
- Luffy’s casual Haki. Riding Komachiyo, he drops the Bakura gate crowd with a burst of Conqueror’s Haki. (pp. 9-10)

Open questions raised
- Who is Okiku really — a teahouse waitress who out-draws and disgraces a national champion?
- Will Holdem succeed in extracting Otama’s power, and how far does her taming reach against Kaido’s SMILE beast-soldiers?
- Why do Holdem’s (and other Gifters’) grafted animal halves act with their own wills — are all SMILE fruits defective?
- Whose attention will the topknot insult draw — and is the “boss” of Bakura a Headliner above Holdem and Urashima?
