Summary
Kaido descends on Kuri in his dragon form — drunk — and his crash-landing flattens part of Bakura Town as citizens flee in terror (“Lord Kaido has descended upon us!!”). Speed, who had been carrying Otama home, falls from the back of Kaido’s cape into the street, badly injured; she confesses she was spotted by Kaido and couldn’t protect her “master.” Against the warnings of Law (“Are you trying to ruin our plans?!”), Luffy charges the Emperor, declaring he’ll be King of the Pirates. Luffy pummels Kaido’s dragon form with Gum-Gum Elephant Gatling (Gear Third), forcing Kaido back into human form, then goes Gear Fourth Bounce-Man and unloads Kong Organ Gun — but the unfazed Emperor shrugs it all off. As Gear Fourth’s time limit expires and Luffy gasses out, Kaido grabs him and, in human form, swings his kanabo for Thunder Bagua, one-shotting Luffy and dropping him face-down and defeated in the mud. Kaido muses, “What king was that…? Boy…”

- Kaido’s first true on-page combat appearance — previously only shadowed/named, he is now fully shown fighting in both dragon form (p. 2–12) and human form (p. 12–17).
- Kaido fights drunk. Onlookers note “Is he drunk?!” and Kaido hiccups/burps mid-battle (p. 7); he still crushes Luffy effortlessly.
