Chapter 929: Shogun of Wano, Kurozumi Orochi

In the Flower Capital, Franky (as the carpenter “Franosuke”) buttery-talks the legendary foreman Minatomo — the man who built Kaido’s mansion — into recalling that he pawned the mansion blueprints about ten years ago, then brawls with him; the Akazaya allies (Kin’emon, Kanjuro) chase the blueprints down a chain of pawnbrokers and gamblers toward ruins in Kuri, while the Atamayama Thieves Brigade (Shutenmaru) is shown to have raided Kaido’s weapons factory for arms and food. In the Kibi region’s ruins, the wandering Zoro is befriended by a fawning sycophant, Tonoyasu (“Yasu”), who leads him toward his home, the poverty-stricken Ebisu Town. At Orochi’s Castle, silhouetted World Government emissaries pressure Shogun Orochi: with his anonymous arms broker “Joker” (Doflamingo) gone, he must deal with the WG directly, but they refuse his demands for a battleship and for Dr. Vegapunk — and Orochi laughs them off because “I have Kaido backing me up!” At a lavish banquet Orochi feasts as the oiran Komurasaki appears, and announces the Fire Festival is next week; the chapter cuts to the starving, polluted reality outside the castle, then to Sanji (the vigilante “Soba Cook”), Law, and Hawkins — where two Tobi Roppo, X Drake and Page One, in dinosaur form, have come hunting.

• The Shogun’s full name is Kurozumi Orochi — surfaced on-page in the chapter title and the page-15 caption “Shogun of Wano: Kurozumi Orochi.” First clear full appearance of his face.
• Orochi was a customer of “Joker” — Doflamingo’s arms-broker alias — buying weapons “to fight pirates”; with Joker fallen and his veil of anonymity gone, he must now deal with the World Government directly.
