• Ch. 689: SMILE is a man-made Devil Fruit “of the Zoan persuasion” — an artificial Zoan (p. 16). First on-page naming of the product.
• Ch. 689: SMILE is produced from a substance called S.A.D., which only Caesar Clown can manufacture (pp. 15-16).
• Ch. 689: Caesar’s S.A.D. is shipped to Don Quixote Doflamingo’s factory, where it is turned into the SMILE fruit (p. 16).
• Ch. 689: SMILE is “desired by all who seek power”; Doflamingo cuts deals with “the truly BIG PLAYERS in the New World” using it (pp. 16-17).

• Ch. 698: described by Law as a man-made Zoan-type Devil Fruit that Kaido buys in great quantities (pp. 15–16). Its raw material / foundation is S.A.D., produced by Caesar; the underlying science is Bloodline Elements “first discovered by Vegapunk.” A SMILE production factory is hidden in Dressrosa (p. 17). • Ch. 717: The Tontatta dwarves locate the hidden factory “beneath da coliseum” in Dressrosa — the same factory the alliance set out to destroy — and reveal roughly 500 Tontatta dwarves are enslaved inside it, including their Princess Mansherry (pp. 18–19). • Ch. 702: SMILE production is tightly compartmentalized — a captured rank-and-file Don Quixote family thug knows nothing of SMILE or any “factory,” only that he was “ordered to chase around some samurai” (“If even his own people don’t know about it…”, pp. 8–9). Underscores how closely Doflamingo guards the SMILE supply chain.
• Ch. 724: Law confirms SMILE is Doflamingo’s leverage with Kaido: shutting the SMILE factory and cutting the supply will make Kaido destroy Doflamingo — “…once you’ve lost your Smile… Kaido will finish the job for me” (p. 19).
• Ch. 732: The hidden factory is sited in the underground world beneath Dressrosa, reachable via a passage from the House of Toys (p. 5) and from the Flower Field tunnel into the underground trade port; it sits inside Joker’s hidden underworld trade hub. The Tontatta operation aims to send Franky through to reach it.
• Ch. 737: The family’s underground trading port beneath the Officer’s Tower is shown to be the source of the kingdom’s weapons (“so this is where the weapons were coming from!!”, p. 16) — worked by erased toy-labor and the Tontatta.
• Ch. 738: the hidden factory is shown in operation — inside the underground trading port beneath Dressrosa (caption p. 4), staffed by enslaved Tontatta dwarves kept compliant by a lie that the harvest yields a cure for their Princess Mansherry’s disease (p. 7). Production is failing: the artificial fruit “ain’t fully ripe,” “less than a tenth of every harvest can actually be used,” and no new dwarf “workers” have arrived in a year (pp. 4, 6–7). Captured dwarves who “never come home” are being turned into toys by Sugar. Confirms the supply-chain endpoint as a coerced-labor operation. • Ch. 744: the hidden factory sits in an underground trade port beneath Dressrosa; Nico Robin, Usopp and the Tontatta dwarves move to destroy it, opposed by Trebol (“you’re after the factory, ain’tcha?!”, p. 7). The Revolutionary Army adds that the port ships weapons arming wars worldwide, though the weapons are “manufactured elsewhere” (p. 14).

• Ch. 914: In Wano, SMILE products are in active field use by the Animal Kingdom Pirates’ Gifters — Bat SMILE (Bat-Man) and Gazelle SMILE (Gazelle-Man).
