Chapter 818: Inside the Whale

Inside Zou’s whale-tree, after the comic reunion with the found-alive ninja Raizo (whose ninjutsu Kanjuro keeps dismissing as “coincidence”), the mink dukes finish presenting the red stone to Nico Robin and reveal it is a Road Poneglyph — one of only four in the world. Each marks a point; connect the four points and the resulting figure pinpoints Raftel, the final island only the Pirate King’s crew ever reached — the place the One Piece waits (pp. 4–8). The Dog Duke (Inuarashi) explains that two of the four are owned by the Emperors Big Mom (on Whole Cake Island) and Kaido, King of the Beasts; one is here at Zou; one sits in an unknown spot — and that you need only make a rubbing of a stone, not steal it. The duke warns that the world’s powers will hunt whoever can read the stones — meaning Robin. Then Momonosuke and the Cat Viper (Nekomamushi) tell the deeper story: the Kozuki Clan of Wano are master stonemasons who CREATED the poneglyphs eight centuries ago, passing down only the runes-reading skill — a teaching cut short in Kozuki Oden’s generation, so Momonosuke never learned it. Most tragically, Oden was executed by the Shogun of Wano and the pirate Kaido — whose Animal Kingdom Pirates now occupy Wano, torturing the Kozuki for what they know. The chapter ends on the bombshell that Oden once rode with Gol D. Roger to Raftel and learned the secret of the world.

• The red poneglyph found behind the Kozuki crest Ch. 817 is a ROAD PONEGLYPH (VIZ “Road Pone-gliff”). There are exactly four in the world (pp. 6–8).
• Each Road Poneglyph marks a point that is not Raftel; connecting the four points on a map and reading them all yields the coordinates of Raftel, the final island — the place the One Piece waits, reached for centuries only by the King of the Pirates and his crew (pp. 7–8).

• The Kozuki Clan of Wano are a centuries-old line of master stonemasons who created the indestructible poneglyphs ~800 years (eight centuries) ago (pp. 12–13).
• The Kozuki passed down only the way to read the ancient runes, not the contents; the teaching was cut short in Kozuki Oden’s generation, so heir Momonosuke never received it (pp. 13–14).
• Kozuki Oden was put to death by the Shogun of Wano and the pirate Kaido, to save the lives of all his servants (pp. 14–16).
• Kaido, Emperor of the Sea, and his Animal Kingdom Pirates are IN WANO — trying to pry poneglyph information out of the captured Kozuki retainers (pp. 16–17).
• Oden rode with Gol D. Roger, reached Raftel, and there learned “the secret of the world” (p. 17 — final-page cliffhanger).
