Charlotte
Lineage: the family of the Emperor Big Mom (real name Charlotte Linlin ), named on-page Ch. 812 .
Members
Unconfirmed / rumored members
At least 35 daughters are implied by Pudding’s “35th daughter” billing; the full roster (and the Sweet Commanders) is unrevealed.
The wedding as a blood ritual: Ch. 815 Big Mom (Charlotte Linlin) “seals a deal with new followers through blood”; Sanji ’s wedding is a ritual binding the Charlotte and Vinsmoke families. Once official, an outside crewmate (Sanji) is absorbed out of his old crew (p. 5–6).
Ch. 825 : the Charlotte × Vinsmoke political marriage is restated aboard ship — Sanji is “the bridegroom to tie the Vinsmoke and Charlotte families together” (p. 5). A pigtailed woman in Capone Bege ’s faction is drawn as a dead ringer for Lola — a visual tell that Lola’s blood family ties into the Charlotte line (see Lola Look-Alike In Beges Faction Charlotte Family Visual Tell ).
Husbands & in-laws
Pound — one of Big Mom ’s 43 former husbands ; father of Lola and Chiffon . Big Mom regards all ex-husbands as “strangers unconnected by blood” and marks him for elimination (Ch. 836 pp. 3, 10, 12). An ex-husband / in-law, not a blood Charlotte — recorded here, not in members.
Blood-vs-marriage doctrine (Ch. 836 ): to Big Mom, kinship is purely by blood ; spouses are expendable.
Sweet 3 Generals: an elite Sweet-Commander rank (Cracker is one) is referenced this chapter; the dedicated rank note is forward (~@0843).
Pudding appears on-page in person for the first time (disguised as the “Café Caramel Owner” in Chocolat Town ); townsfolk address her as “Lady Pudding” and congratulate her on her wedding (p. 10). The family’s food/sweets naming extends to the geography itself — Totto Land ’s ministries (Chocolate, Candy, Biscuits) and Chocolat Town (p. 5–6). See Pudding’s Presented Sweetness .
Why this family matters (plot weight)
Ch. 899 — the family coordinates the nation’s defense; Chiffon defies it for Sanji’s cake
In Big Mom ’s craze, the siblings (Perospero , Mont-d’Or , Bavarois , with Tamago relaying) coordinate the nation’s defense by Den Den Mushi; Chiffon , branded a traitor for siding with Bege , openly defies the family by trusting Sanji ’s cake over head chef Streusen ’s recipe — bringing it into her own Fluffy Island as Minister of Fluff (pp. 2-6).
Ch. 894 — Charlotte siblings mass on Cacao Island
Many Charlotte children gather “like a festival” on Cacao Island to ambush Luffy at the ~1
meeting.
Oven (established sibling) directs; new on-page faces:
Snack (25th son, former “Sweet 4,” ฿600M —
first appearance ),
Yuien (35th son),
Raisin (33rd son),
Joconde (27th daughter),
Brownie (32nd son), plus the
Decuplets (36th–40th sons & 30th–34th daughters, shown collectively, no individual on-page names — not minted) (pp. 14-15).
The 33rd daughter Flampe (first shown Ch. 891 ) re-appears secretly sabotaging the Luffy –Katakuri duel with her silent numbing-needle blowgun. When Katakuri bares his hidden fanged mouth, his self-proclaimed #1 fan recoils, calls him a monster , and vows to photograph and broadcast the “hideous face” across Totto Land (pp. 11-14).
Ch. 891 — Katakuri’s fanatically devoted little sister
The 33rd daughter Flampe (age 15) debuts on-page, captioned president of the Katakuri fan club and “suicide squad captain” (bio-box p. 4). Obsessed with being her brother’s favorite, she and her attendants hide inside the Mirro-World firing poison needles at Luffy to “score points,” enraged that the wounded Straw Hat keeps standing and tarnishes Katakuri’s flawless image (pp. 3-5).
Ch. 888 — a new son named in the sea pursuit
The 28th son Bavarois is named (title card p. 5) commanding the pursuit fleet’s homie cannonballs (which misfire because “Mama’s not in her right mind”), while the 3rd son Daifuku (title card p. 6) leads another pursuit fleet — wrecked by the Sulong-transformed Carrot .
Ch. 887 — Oven’s heat-fruit blockade; the caretaker who raised infant Chiffon
The 4th son Oven boils the Cacao harbor sea to stop the Firetank breakout and is shot/run over by Bege . A 26-years-ago flashback shows Linlin handing her newborn twin daughters — incl. the infant Chiffon — to a large caretaker, refusing to hold them (“I’m done with you now!”); the caretaker reappears in the present, fells Oven, and greets Pez as “my grandson,” establishing that Chiffon was loved and raised by an outside caretaker (p. 14).
Ch. 886 — Oven enforces family law on Chiffon; Pound’s “way of life”
The 4th son Oven enforces family law against his sister Chiffon , seizing her as a traitor “who attempted to kill our queen” at the Cacao harbor. Their discarded father Pound — beaten by Oven in Chiffon’s place — reaffirms Chiffon as “my only true family ” and dotes on his infant grandson Pez as Bege shoots Oven (pp. 5-16).
Ch. 884 — Oven garrisons Cacao Island; drives off the ex-husband Pound
The 4th son Charlotte Oven (Minister of Baking) garrisons the Chocolat Town sweets factory on Cacao Island , where the family’s Sanji / Pudding / Chiffon rescue-bake is underway. He recognizes the cast-out ex-husband Pound — father of Lola and Chiffon — as his “former stepfather” and beats him off when Pound begs to see Chiffon (pp. 14-15).
SBS Vol 88 (via
Ch. 883 p. 18) — Katakuri / Daifuku / Oven are triplets
An SBS Question-Corner answer printed in this chapter confirms Katakuri (2nd son), Daifuku (3rd son), and Oven (4th son) share a November 25 birthday and are triplets (“cool triplet bros”) — consistent with the Ch. 856 SBS note that the brood holds “tons of twins and triplets.” #technique/sbs-leak
Ch. 880 — two more children surface in the Mirro-World
Two young Big Mom children debut guarding mirrors in the Mirro-World : the 28th daughter Joscarpone and the 34th son Mascarpone (captions p. 12), knocked aside when Luffy bursts through and seizes a mirror (p. 12–13).
Ch. 872 — Katakuri musters the Charlotte pursuit
After the Chateau collapse, Katakuri (2nd son) takes command and orders a two-squad pursuit, directing Daifuku (3rd son) to “assemble two major squads” (p. 19) — the Charlotte command tier executing the chase.
Ch. 868 — the family/crew’s founding seed: Carmel’s orphan + the cook Streusen
Charlotte Linlin ’s origin is filled in: raised at the Sheep’s House orphanage under the trafficker Mother Carmel , the starving child is taken in by the stranded cook Streusen (Cook-Cook Fruit ) — “the meeting that launched the eventual Big Mom Pirates ” — and together they adopt the “same eye level , all-races” dream that becomes the Charlotte/Big Mom project (pp. 2-10).
Ch. 867 — the matriarch’s orphan origin at the House of Lambs
Charlotte Linlin ’s own origin: an abandoned orphan raised at Mother Carmel ’s House of Lambs on Elbaf with no known parents — the Charlotte bloodline begins from a parentless child whom the trafficker Carmel called her “finest product ” and nearly sold to the World Government.
Ch. 866 — “Charlotte” is Linlin’s birth surname
“Charlotte ” is Linlin ’s birth surname , not one she invented — she carries it at age 5 (“CHARLOTTE LINLIN (HUMAN, AGE 5)”, p. 2) in the Elbaf origin flashback, before founding her own family. Her birth family abandoned/exiled her, fleeing “the damage she caused” (pp. 2-3).
Ch. 856 p. 18 (SBS Vol 85) — Charlotte family demographics
Oda states Big Mom is 68 years old and bore children annually for ~42 years , totalling 85 children (hence “tons of twins and triplets”). The largest single batch was a decuplet — 5 boys and 5 girls, all 18 now. Five look-alike sons seen in Ch. 845 are confirmed quintuplets : Opera , Counter, Cadenza, Cabaletta, Gala (SBS-named; the fifth is unseen on-page). #technique/sbs-leak
Ch. 853 — Pudding revealed a Three-Eye Tribe half-blood; the three special homies named
Pudding (35th daughter) is revealed as a half-blood of the Three-Eye Tribe with a hidden third eye — Big Mom ’s intended poneglyph-reader, who will “one day wield” the voice of all things (pp. 4–5). Big Mom’s three special homies are captioned: Prometheus (sun), Zeus (storm cloud), Napoleon (bicorn hat) (p. 3). See Three-Eye Tribe , Homies .
Ch. 852 — the marriage is a trap; Pudding complicit
The Charlotte × Vinsmoke marriage is revealed as a trap — Big Mom plans to kill the Vinsmokes at the tea party, with Pudding complicit (p. 8) — cross-linking Vinsmoke via the arranged marriage. Mont-d’Or ’s book-prison (the Prison Library) is burned in the Straw Hat escape (pp. 4-5).
Ch. 851 — the wedding assassin’s Devil Fruit; the family’s jailers and captives
Pudding (35th daughter) is revealed as the wedding-trap assassin , wielding the Memo Memo no Mi to memory-wipe Reiju (pp. 12-13). Other on-page family members: Opera guards the Prison Library (KO’d by Jinbe ); Brûlée is captive in her Mirro-World ; Galette is named only (her closet’s mirror, p. 11).
Ch. 849 — Brûlée’s Mirro-World forces routed; Smoothie arrives at the prison
Two on-page Charlotte members feature: Brûlée , whose Mirro-World homie household (“16 enemies”) is wiped out by Chopper /Nami /Carrot (pp. 3-10), and Sweet Commander Smoothie , who arrives at the prison as Pedro causes chaos — “Outta my way, Smoothie!!” (p. 14) — just before Big Mom appears.
Ch. 848 — siblings address each other Brother/Sister; the wedding’s prize named
Big Mom ’s children address one another as Brother/Sister — “Sister Lola ” (whose Vivre Card commands the homies, p. 7), “Brother Opera ” (warden of the Prison Library), and “General Smoothie ” all surface this chapter. The wedding’s true purpose is stated by the matriarch: to seize “Germa’s power ” and the Tamate Box from the Vinsmoke union (p. 4).
Ch. 847 — Lola confirmed a blood daughter to Big Mom’s face
Big Mom confirms Lola is her blood daughter — a runaway who fled “the greatest political marriage” she ever arranged and was disowned (pp. 13-15). Nami reveals Lola gave her the Charlotte matriarch’s Vivre Card “as a sign of friendship,” making Lola the source of Nami ’s New-World card; Big Mom rages and wants Lola dead, though Lola is alive (“doing fine”). Reconfirms the runaway-Charlotte-child reveal (first reached @0835) to Big Mom’s own face. See Lola’s Mother , Lola’s Mother Is A Powerful New World Pirate Vivre-Card Seed .
Ch. 846 — the 14th daughter shown; the marriage’s strategic prize named
Sweet Commander Charlotte Smoothie is first shown via bio-box in the Chateau Treasure Repository — a “Sweet 3” General , Minister of Juice , and Big Mom ’s 14th daughter (bounty 932,000,000) (pp. 12–15). Big Mom names the Sanji × Pudding marriage’s strategic prize: Germa 66 ’s military power “by this time tomorrow” (p. 11) — confirming the Vinsmoke –Charlotte alliance is, from the Charlotte side, a play for the Vinsmoke army.
Ch. 845 — more Charlotte children & officers surface on the wedding’s eve
More of Big Mom ’s children surface: the youngest Anana (p. 7), twins Dolce and Dragée (p. 7), and officers Amande (“the Headmoiselle”) and Montd’or (“the Bookkeeper”) named in Cracker ’s vengeance army (p. 5). The arranged Sanji × Pudding marriage with the Vinsmokes is set for “tomorrow.”
Ch. 843 — the brood numbering & rank tiers introduced at the Chateau
Ch. 843 the brood’s numbering is shown on-page — Opera (15th son , Minister of Cream), Galette (18th daughter , Minister of Butter), Mont-d’Or (19th son , Minister of Cheese) react in fury to Cracker ’s defeat (pp. 4-6). The elite Sweet 3 Generals rank is named on-page — Cracker , Smoothie , Katakuri — with a former general Snack referenced as previously defeated (p. 9). Still a partial roster.
Ch. 842 — Charlotte marriage custom + Cracker defeated
Marriage custom stated: “The Charlotte Family never marries INTO another family to take their name ” — so Sanji becomes the in-marrying son-in-law (p. 8). The Sweet Commander Charlotte Cracker (10th son) is defeated by Luffy in the Seducing Woods (Gear Fourth: Tankman → Gum-Gum Cannonball, pp. 14-15).
Ch. 837 — the Generals command tier; the ex-husband targeted; Lola’s parentage restated on-page
Cracker names the family’s elite combat tier — the Generals / “Sweet 4” — and recounts that the only Worst-Generation captain “to get anywhere” in Totto Land over the past two years was Urouge , who “managed to topple one of our generals” (so they were the Sweet 4 , now reduced) (pp. 8-9; toppled general’s name = forward). The ex-husband Pound (“Father Pound”) is hunted in the Seducing Woods by Brulee , who frames his rescue as “rebellion against Mama” (pp. 10-12). Nami ’s group restates on-page that Lola is Big Mom ’s daughter (“Lola’s mama was Big Mom after all,” p. 12).
Ch. 836 — the blood-vs-marriage doctrine; an ex-husband named; the Cracker dispatch
A flashback shows Big Mom weeping for her runaway daughters “Lola… Chiffon!!” (p. 2). Her 43 former husbands are dismissed as “strangers unconnected by blood” — kinship, to her, is purely by blood, and spouses are expendable. The ex-husband Pound (father of Lola and Chiffon ) is marked for elimination by the homies (pp. 3, 10, 12). The Sweet-3 General Charlotte Cracker (10th son) is dispatched after Luffy “because Straw Hat Luffy is the man who defeated Doflamingo ” (p. 7).
Ch. 835 — the 10th son (a Sweet Commander); a runaway daughter named
Charlotte Cracker debuts (bio-box, p. 19) as the 10th son — a “Sweet 3” General (Sweet Commander) and Minister of Biscuits . A discarded ex-husband of Big Mom (now a tree-homie ) reveals her family-engineering modus: she takes spouses, bears children, then abandons them (“we had two daughters, and then she abandoned me”). Lola is named as one such runaway daughter (pp. 17, 19) — bridging the Thriller-Bark “Lola the Proposer” to the Charlotte line and identifying Nami ’s Vivre Card holder as Big Mom . The family’s food-naming theme continues (Cracker, Brulee, Chiffon).
First on-page filicide establishes the family’s fear of their mother. 16th son Charlotte Moscato (Minister of Gelato) is introduced and killed by Big Mom during a craving fit — she rips 40 years of his lifespan out (pp. 11–14). Title-only Charlotte ministers also mentioned this chapter: Minister of Nuts , Candy Minister .
Full family scale stated on-page by Charlotte Pudding : 43 husbands , 39 daughters + 46 sons = 85 children , 129 family members in total (pp. 4–5). The Big Mom Pirates are built around the literal family ; elder siblings already have children of their own. Big Mom uses her children’s marriages to strengthen the crew — children may only submit or run away (p. 4). Pudding is confirmed the 35th daughter . An unnamed elder sister ran off to sea “to find a love of her own choosing” (p. 4) — strongly implied to be the runaway whose vivre card Nami carries (see Lola’s Mother / Lola ); not named on-page, treat as inference.
