“Carrot” · alive · a rabbit-eared member of the Mink Tribe of Zou

Profile

A young, rabbit-eared mink introduced in Ch. 804 (p. 16-18). Ambushes Luffy’s group as they explore the abandoned town — leaping and appearing to “float upward while in midair” before Zoro counter-slashes. A dog-mink musketeer restrains her with a shout — “Stop this at once, Carrot!!” — which names her on-page. Energetic and aggressive toward the intruders.

Disambiguation: name collision with Carrot (Mink) (the Usopp Pirates’ Syrup Village boy, ch 0023). These are two unrelated characters; the mink’s Japanese name is キャロット (Kyarotto, the loanword “carrot”) vs. the boy’s ニンジン (Ninjin). (Etymology resolved — see etymology frontmatter: both are the vegetable “carrot,” but the mink’s is the rabbit→carrot species-pun, the boy’s is the Usopp-Pirates vegetable trio.)
