- Name meaning
- 三つ目族 Mitsume-zoku = literally 'three-eye(s) tribe/clan' (三つ mittsu = 'three' + 目 me = 'eye' + 族 zoku = 'tribe/clan'). The defining trait IS the name — a literal third eye. The reveal-encoding sits in the real-world third-eye symbolism: in Hinduism the Ajna ('brow') chakra third eye grants clairvoyance, precognition and inner vision — exactly Big Mom's expectations of her half-blood daughter Charlotte Pudding (an awakened eye that reads the poneglyphs via the voice of all things). The on-page term for the eye's 'awakening' is 開眼 kaigan — literally 'opening the eye(s)', figuratively 'enlightenment / spiritual awakening'; the full power requires the 真の開眼 (shin no kaigan, 'true awakening'). Pudding being a half-blood is flagged as possibly barring that true awakening.
5 — “the rare blood of the three-eyed people.”
Profile
A rare bloodline first named on-page Ch. 853 (p. 5): “the rare blood of the three-eyed people.” Members bear a literal third eye. Per Big Mom, legend holds that when the third eye “opens in the truest sense” it grants the ability to hear the voice of all things and read the poneglyphs — the same faculty Roger possessed.
Defining traits
- Ch. 853 p. 5 — members carry a third eye (Pudding’s is concealed under her hair).
- Ch. 853 pp. 4–5 — legend: a fully-opened third eye can read the poneglyphs via the voice of all things (Big Mom’s account).
- Charlotte Pudding is a half-blood (one parent of the tribe); the full-blood tribe and its homeland are unrevealed.

- First named (p. 5). Brook glimpses Pudding’s hidden third eye; Big Mom greets Pudding as her fellow secret-keeper and frames her as the “secret weapon” who will one day wield the voice of all things to read poneglyphs — so Big Mom can be “the next to reach Raftel.” See Charlotte Pudding’s Hidden Third Eye (confirmed @0853 — the Three-Eye-Tribe lineage seed; the poneglyph-reading-weapon payoff folds here as a forward extension).

Notes
- Etymology (resolved): 三つ目族 Mitsume-zoku = “three-eye(s) tribe” (三つ mittsu = three + 目 me = eye + 族 zoku = tribe/clan). The third-eye / all-seeing motif draws on the Hindu Ajna (brow) chakra — clairvoyance, precognition, inner vision — mirrored in Big Mom’s plans for Pudding. The eye’s “awakening” is 開眼 kaigan (“opening the eyes” → enlightenment); the poneglyph-reading faculty needs the 真の開眼 shin no kaigan (“true awakening”), which a half-blood may not reach. See
