Chapter 812: Capone "Gang" Bege

Summary

Newcomers arrive on a devastated Zou and demand to know who wrecked the Mokomo Dukedom (p. 2). Among the recovering minks, the Straw Hats are treated as saviors: Nami is gifted a national-treasure outfit (the trade of clothes being a mink sign of friendship), Sanji is mobbed for “garchu” greetings, and Caesar Clown — kept in gas form to hide his human shape — is press-ganged into mass-producing medicine for the wounded, mortified to be the minks’ beloved “medicine man Cedar,” while Brook basks as “Baron Corpse” (pp. 3-6). A returning lion-mink, Pekoms of the Big Mom Pirates, weeps to find his homeland in ruins and thanks the Straw Hats; Sanji learns Pekoms is “a mink too,” and that the Big Mom Pirates have come for Caesar (Pekoms is a returning Big Mom Pirate, here visiting his devastated homeland) (pp. 6-8). Caesar reveals he bilked Big Mom out of a research grant; Luffy has already declared war on her over Fish-Man Island; and Caesar begs Sanji to help him escape (pp. 7-8). Sanji and Brook go down to confront the Big Mom crew. Pekoms refuses to harm the people who saved his family — and Capone “Gang” Bege shoots his own ally in the back (pp. 9-10), then disgorges an armed crew from inside his body. Bege names himself: captain of the Firetank Pirates, ฿300,000,000, a fellow of Luffy’s generation, wielder of the Castle-Castle Fruit (p. 13). His man Vito drags out a captured Nami and Chopper and threatens to fire (bluffed) Sea Prism Stone shotguns; Caesar surrenders, pinned by a real Sea Prism Stone spear (pp. 14-15). Inside Bege’s body-castle banquet hall, Bege delivers Big Mom’s news: the tea party’s main event is a wedding — the bride is Charlotte Pudding, 35th daughter of the Charlotte Family, and the groom is Sanji, third son of the Vinsmoke Family (pp. 16-17).
