Profile
Aladdin (VIZ “Aladdin”; canonical fan-romanization “Aladine”) — ship doctor of the Sun Pirates, a brotula fish-man and a former Ryugu Kingdom Neptune Army soldier, implied to be a former slave himself. Speaks from experience when counseling the traumatized Koala — “it takes time for psychological traumas to heal” (p. 3). A voice of measured compassion on the crew between Jinbei’s restraint and Arlong’s bitterness.
Arc-by-arc updates
Whole Cake Island — leads the Sun Pirates back to shield Jinbe (Ch. 901)
- Leads the Sun Pirates back to Cacao Island to shield Jinbe’s escape; rallies the crew under fire (“Aladdin!!” / “Everyone!!”). The crew accepts they may die as Jinbe’s shield because “Mama kills anyone who tries to leave” (pp. 8-9).
Whole Cake Island — leads the Sun Pirates home; farewell to Jimbei (Ch. 860)
- Leads the Sun Pirates away from Totto Land toward Fish-Man Island at Jimbei’s order, taking the ship and the captive Pekoms (pp. 4-5).
- Tries to talk Jimbei into letting the crew help him “go out in a blaze of glory” together; accepts Jimbei’s refusal. Emotional parting: “Let us meet again, Jimbei!” / “How many decades have we known each other?!” (p. 5).
Whole Cake Island — Sun Pirates flashback “a few hours ago” (Ch. 830)
- Title-carded “First Mate of the Sun Pirates, Goatsbeard Brotula Merman” (p. 5). Revealed to be married to Charlotte Praline, Big Mom’s 29th daughter — making Big Mom, by marriage, the crew’s “family.” Weighs the danger of helping Jimbei leave Big Mom’s organization (pp. 5–7).
Fish-Man Island flashback — first appearance (Ch. 623)
- Introduced via data caption as the Sun Pirates’ ship doctor / ex-Neptune-Army soldier. A crewmate asks “are you speaking from experience as a former slave?” but the scene cuts to the Arlong/Koala argument before he answers (p. 3).
- Present through the crew’s tending of Koala and Fisher Tiger’s death.
Fish-Man Island flashback — named by Jimbei (Ch. 624) — referenced, not shown
Fish-Man Island — Otohime flashback (Ch. 625) — shown
- Serves as the Sun Pirates field doctor in the Otohime flashback — “Aladdin, what happened to the Celestial Dragon?!” / “I just got here” (p. 9) — and tends the wounded Queen (“I’ll see to him. Queen Otohime, you need medical attention,” p. 15).
Notes
- Name-pin (reconcile #12): canonical note
Characters/Aladdin;name_viz:"Aladdin",aliases:["Aladine"]. fm/fa 0623. Committed chapter notes that link[[Characters/Aladine]]normalize here on the weaver’s broken-link sweep. The 0623 reader’s data-caption was read as “brotula merman” — flag for the weaver/etymologist to verify the on-page species caption. - Etymology: アラディン = “Aladdin” (One Thousand and One Nights); genie-like appearance supports the link (wiki hedges “possibly” → medium). Confirmed sub-pun: arm tattoo “1TC” = ITACHI = itachiuo (Japanese for goatsbeard brotula, his species). Confidence: medium. Source: One Piece Wiki (Aladine) trivia.
