Summary
In a medical room of the Whole Cake Chateau, a recovering Reiju tells Sanji the truth his tampered memory concealed: Big Mom never intended the wedding — she plans to slaughter the entire Vinsmoke Family at the tea party to seize Germa’s science, and Pudding is in on it. Reiju recounts the family’s origin: their father Judge genetically engineered his four sons into emotionless killing machines, but their mother Sora secretly poisoned herself with a drug meant to halt the modification — sparing Sanji his human heart at the cost of her own life. Sanji, dubbed “Germa’s failure,” is the only son who can still feel. Reiju urges him to abandon Germa, reveals she has already swapped his exploding wristlets for harmless ones, and resolves to stay and let Big Mom’s plan kill the rest of the family. Meanwhile Luffy, Nami and Jinbei burn their way out of Mont-d’Or’s Prison Library; Jinbei openly declares rebellion against Big Mom, and Luffy charges through the Chateau to reach Sanji.
New reveals
- The wedding is an assassination plot. Big Mom plans to kill the Vinsmokes at the tea party rather than honor the marriage; Pudding has been complicit all along (p. 8).
- Germa engineers its soldiers. Judge modified his unborn sons by altering “manipulated bloodline elements” to strip their emotions and make them superhuman; Germa’s augmented humans have resilient, regenerative skin (p. 2, 10–12).
- Sora’s sacrifice. Sanji’s mother Sora swallowed a powerful drug to halt the modification of her sons; Judge forced the surgery anyway, but the drug left Sanji emotionally human. Sora grew weaker from the after-effects and died, proud of how Sanji turned out (p. 11–13).
- Reiju disabled Sanji’s leash. She secretly replaced his exploding wristlets/bracelets with ordinary ones — he is free to flee (p. 17).
- Jinbei rebels. His Sun Pirates were affiliated with Big Mom’s operation; he abandons that position and declares open rebellion (p. 6).
- Sanji’s memories were tampered with to hide what really happened (p. 3).
- Big Mom only wants Germa’s scientific power, not the alliance for its own sake; the leverage on Sanji (a hostage threat against the Baratie / his mentor Zeff) comes from the Vinsmokes themselves (p. 10, 16).

Open questions raised
- Whose power replaced Sanji’s memories, and what was actually erased? (p. 3)
- Will Sanji obey Reiju and abandon Germa, knowing the rest of his family is marked to die?
- Reiju chooses to die with Germa — will she actually be allowed to?
- What is Big Mom’s full plan for the tea-party slaughter, and how does Jinbei’s open rebellion change it? (p. 15)
