Chocolat Town

Profile

A town on Cacao Island built entirely of chocolate, under the Minister of Chocolate — bricks, houses, baths, clothes, fountains, even café walls are edible chocolate. Glass windows fall under the Minister of Candy; pillars under the Minister of Biscuits; roof tiles are by law non-chocolate (won’t survive the elements). Visitors may eat the chocolate freely, but candy/marshmallow goods and the cafés are private property — eating a whole café is the crime of “snackalism” (p. 3, 5–8). The Straw Hat shore party resupplies here; Luffy & Chopper devour a café and are rescued by Pudding in disguise.

Etymology

• Surface meaning: French chocolat = “chocolate” — literal, for the town built entirely of edible chocolate.
• Pun layer: the name follows directly from its parent Cacao Island (cacao → chocolate; Theobroma cacao), continuing Totto Land’s confectionery / food naming theme.
• Real-world reference: the edible city echoes the candy house of Hansel and Gretel and the Chocolate Room of Willy Wonka (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
