- Name meaning
- カカオ島 (Kakao-tō). 'Cacao' references *Theobroma cacao*, the cocoa-bean tree that is the source of chocolate — anchoring Chocolat Town and the island's edible-chocolate gimmick. Part of Totto Land's confectionery / food naming theme; the edible architecture conceit echoes the candy house of the Brothers Grimm's *Hansel and Gretel* and Willy Wonka's Chocolate Room (Roald Dahl, *Charlie and the Chocolate Factory*).

Profile
An island within Totto Land, home to Chocolat Town, the town built entirely of chocolate. The retrieval team lands here to resupply en route to Whole Cake Island (p. 4–6).
Etymology
- Surface meaning: カカオ島 (Kakao-tō) — “Cacao Island.” Cacao is the cocoa bean, the raw ingredient of chocolate; the wiki keys it to Theobroma cacao, the binomial of the cocoa-bean tree.
- Pun layer: anchors the island’s home town Chocolat Town (chocolate ← cacao) and the gag that the whole town is edible chocolate — squarely inside Totto Land’s confectionery / food naming theme.
- Real-world reference: the edible-architecture conceit echoes the candy house of the Brothers Grimm’s Hansel and Gretel and the Chocolate Room of Willy Wonka (Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).
