Etymology

• Surface meaning: 鏡世界 (“mirror world”) printed with the English-loan ruby gloss ミロワールド (Miro Wārudo); ミロ (“Miro”) is a clipped katakana rendering of English mirror, giving the stylized VIZ caption “Mirro-World.” 鏡 (kagami) = mirror, 世界 (sekai) = world.
• Theme / reference: the mirror-as-doorway motif extends the fairy-tale magic-mirror tradition that already themes its keeper Charlotte Brulee (the Evil Queen’s “mirror, mirror on the wall” from Snow White — see her own etymology). • Ch. 849 — the Mirro-World is captured by the Straw Hat side. Chopper (“Chobro”), Nami and Carrot rout Brûlée’s homie household (the “16 enemies,” incl. the crocodile-gentleman Aristocroc and the performer Randolph) and seize the mirror network so the crew can travel the island through any mirror (pp. 3-10).

• Ch. 850 — Chopper and Carrot drag the unconscious Brûlée (and the homie-cart “Diesel”) from mirror to mirror, hunting for the one that opens into Whole Cake Chateau — “We’re supposed to be connected to all the mirrors on Whole Cake Island here!” (pp. 2-3).

Katakuri’s private merienda shrine/abode and his pastry chefs are shown within the Mirro-World (p. 6); he buries Luffy under a towering multilayered Mirror Mochi to suffocate him (p. 4), but Luffy eats his way free and smashes into the shrine with an Elephant Gun, catching Katakuri mid-meal (pp. 7-13).

• Ch. 885 — stage of the Luffy-vs-Katakuri Gear Fourth duel. With Gear Fourth spent and unable to use Haki for ten minutes, Luffy abandons the duel, grabs the captive Brûlée, and uses the mirror network as an escape route — hopping mirror to mirror and repeatedly tumbling out into real Totto Land towns (e.g. Nuts Island) near Big Mom’s craving rampage (pp. 7-13).

• Ch. 886 — the dimension has a town-to-town reporting network: the mirror-towns Chockfull, Chips and Green phone in sightings of Straw Hat “racing all over the Mirro-World” as Luffy leads Katakuri on a chase through the mirror-towns (p. 18).
