Pudding's Presented Sweetness
Status: pending · Technique: negative-space / chekhov-explicit
The seed
On her first in-person appearance Pudding is shown as conspicuously, almost too-perfectly kind — rescuing Luffy and Chopper from arrest, blushing at praise, tearfully grateful for a compliment about “that café.” The framing invites suspicion given she is the bride of a forced Vinsmoke –Charlotte marriage.
Ch. 861 pp. 12-13 — the act is staged on-page
Pudding rehearses her doe-eyed bride act alone in the waiting room (talking up the lip-kiss, then offering a coy forehead kiss); Sanji is fooled and observers state outright “She’s putting on an act!! ” / “She’s gonna kill you!! ” Her smitten face is staged.

Why this matters
Oda over-signals Pudding’s sweetness so the reader’s guard drops — a negative-space tell that the perfect bride is hiding something. The “too good to be true” introduction is itself the planted seed.
