A large, fanged woman who captains the Rolling Pirates, a band of Gecko Moria’s shadow-victims trapped in the Thriller Bark forest. Introduced on-page in Ch. 476 (p. 2) mid-marriage-proposal — her bio box bills her as “Lola the Proposer — Rolling Pirates Captain (proposed marriage 4443 times thus far).” Her own shadow was stolen by Moria, so she’s “in a hurry”; she allies with Luffy, explains the state of the battle (Moria pilots Oars from inside its stomach; defeating Moria returns everyone’s shadows before sunrise), and helps load 100 captured shadows into Luffy to create “Nightmare Luffy.”

Thriller Bark (Ch. 481) — the captain’s gamble

• Captain Lola takes responsibility for the gamble of pinning everyone’s survival on Luffy and refuses to run for the shade: “If I stay, our duties can be fulfilled… I’m staying here!! This is what it means to put your hopes… on the shoulders of others!!” (pp. 17-18). Her crew and the freed victims hold their ground with her (“We put all our hopes into them — we called them our saviors!!”).

Thriller Bark (Ch. 482) — reclaims the shadows at dawn

• As dawn breaks she refuses to flee into the shade: “Live or die, I don’t care anymore!!” (p. 3) — staking everything on the victims surviving long enough to get their shadows back.
• Reveals she spent “three long years” on Thriller Bark searching for the very zombie carrying her stolen shadow: “We’ve been together since birth!! We were born into this world together!!” (pp. 3, 15-16).

• Crucial warning: she remembers that Moria “wasn’t the only one” — a second Warlord, Bartholomew Kuma (the decided replacement for Crocodile), has been on Thriller Bark the whole time (pp. 14-15), shattering the victory celebration.

Thriller Bark — aftermath (Ch. 486) — the living woman; reunites with Nami

• With Moria defeated and the shadows returned, the living Lola appears restored and reunites with Nami, whom she recognizes through the warthog zombie’s shared memories — “It’s really you!! I’m so glad we meet again!!” (pp. 5-6). Confirms Lola the Zombie was animated by her stolen shadow.
