• As “Dogstorm,” he and Cat Viper stowed away on Whitebeard’s ship ahead of time to join Oden’s voyage — their youth shown; they join the crew alongside Oden and Toki (p. 14).

• At Bakura Town with Kin’emon, hears an elder lay out the truth that Ebisu Town’s “smiles” are SMILE-fruit masks the residents can never remove (p. 8).

• With Kin’emon’s group in Kuri, hurrying to reach Bakura before Ashura Doji does (“We must make haste, Dogstorm!! Ashura Doji is heading to Bakura!!”) (pp. 8-9). The plan needs Ashura turned against the Animal Kingdom Pirates.

Wano Country — the Kuri shore memory (Ch. 920)

• As “Duke Dogstorm, King of the Day,” narrates how he and the Cat Viper washed up at the Kuri shore, were feared as “talking dog and cat” aliens, and were taken in by Lord Oden — “He was our savior… our master” (p. 5). Whole Cake Island — referenced (Pedro’s flashback) (Ch. 830)

• In Pedro’s account aboard the Sunny: one of the “two kings” of Zou who, 26 years ago, showed Roger’s crew the Road Poneglyph in the Whale Tree, and recently showed it to Luffy though he is not Kozuki — believing the stone will one day be necessary to Luffy (pp. 13–14).

Zou — the finale; the Vivre-Card suspicion (Ch. 824)

• As Duke (“Your Grace”), reassured that Carrot is safe with Luffy’s group, but worried she went missing; orders extra guards (pp. 8–9).

Zou (Ch. 821) — the mink defense; the Zunisha reveal

• Helps marshal the mink defense as Jack’s fleet attacks and the city collapses; among the dukes stunned to learn Zunisha has a will and can communicate, and that the island “just ain’t safe anymore” (pp. 3, 18). See Destruction of Zou, Zunisha’s Ancient Crime.

Zou — cats and dogs have a history; the alliance splits (Ch. 820)

• With the Cat Viper, recounts that he, the Cat Viper and Lord Kozuki Oden served as Oden’s retainers aboard both Whitebeard’s Moby Dick and Roger’s Oro Jackson — so they knew Shanks, Rayleigh, Buggy and the doctor Crocus (pp. 2–9). They did not go to Raftel (p. 3).
• Explains the war plan: “we must make preparations before we fight Kaido”; the alliance will recruit samurai in Wano (p. 10). Agrees to split up and regroup in Wano via a vivre card from Kin’emon (pp. 13–16).

Zou (Ch. 819) — Oden’s direct vassal; teaches the heir; the Cat Viper falling-out

• Named one of Oden’s direct vassals; narrates the Kozuki–Mink history, Oden’s Raftel voyage, and the dying command to open Wano’s borders (pp. 2–7).
• Lifts Momonosuke to “gaze out upon the world,” teaching the meaning of being an heir (pp. 9–10).

Zou (Ch. 818) — narrates the Road Poneglyph

• The Dog Duke presents the red stone to Nico Robin and explains it is a Road Poneglyph — one of four whose points triangulate Raftel — and that two are Emperor-held (Big Mom, Kaido), that a rubbing suffices, and that the world will hunt whoever can read them (pp. 4–11). (Attribution: the unnamed narrating duke; canon assigns the Road-Poneglyph exposition to the Dog Duke.)

Zou (Ch. 817) — the Kozuki-retainer reveal; ceasefire; Raizo found

• Reveals the Kozuki Clan crest he bears and that he served Kozuki Oden — a sworn Kozuki retainer loyal to the heir Momonosuke (“he is our liege”) (pp. 2–9).
• His long feud with co-king Cat Viper is set aside: the two call a ceasefire “by the power of Kozuki,” shaking hands as the King of Day and King of Night (p. 9).
• Reunites with the found-alive ninja Raizo at the whale-tree (p. 13). See Kozuki.

Zou (Ch. 816) — the Dog-vs-Cat clash; the Raizo + brotherhood reveal

• One of the two rulers of the Mokomo Dukedom (“King of Dogs”); now missing a leg (p. 8–9).
• Clashes with Cat Viper in Kurau City the moment they meet, each demanding the visiting samurai surrender Raizo (p. 8–11).

Zou (Ch. 811) — referenced as King of the Day; “alive and well”

Zou (Ch. 810) — named again (referenced); Pedro pleads for the two kings

• In the minks’ siege flashback, referenced as one of the two kings Jack “couldn’t beat” alone (pp. 3, 7). The gravely wounded Pedro names “Duke Dogstorm” and begs the Straw Hats to save him “before they die!!!” (p. 16). Named/referenced — not clearly depicted this chapter.

Zou (Ch. 809) — the assault flashback; refuses Jack; the Shanks seed

• Named again as “Duke Dogstorm,” the official sovereign of the Mokomo Dukedom and King of the Day (p. 10). In Wanda’s flashback of Jack’s assault he drops his sword and refuses to resist — pleading that Jack stop the destruction and search freely since the man he seeks “is not in this land!!!” — yet withstands Jack’s blow (pp. 10–13).

Zou (Ch. 808) — first appearance; shown in person, bandaged at his sanatorium

• Shown in person for the first time — the bandaged King of the Day, captioned “MOKOMO DUKEDOM, KING OF THE DAY — DUKE DOGSTORM,” recovering in his sanatorium (p. 16).
• Thanks the Straw Hats for saving his people, and reveals that the weapon which destroyed his dukedom was one of Caesar Clown’s gas weapons (pp. 16–17). Guarded by the lion-mink Musketeer captain Shishilian. See Destruction of Zou.
