Kaidos Raiders Hunt A Samurai On A Mystery Island

The seed
Sheepshead ’s raiders demand “where did you hide the woman ?!” and report they “still haven’t found the samurai .” This is on the same mystery New World island the Sanji group — carrying Momonosuke , a Wano child — has just reached. Seeds a New World theatre for the hidden-samurai thread that began on Punk Hazard.
Climbing toward Zou , Kin’emon names the Wano group’s third companion, lost at sea — “the ninja Raizo ” — who was supposed to reach Zou. The hidden-warrior thread is now explicitly tied to Zou and Wano (the same hidden person the raiders were hunting).
Wanda ’s flashback: Jack minks an ultimatum — “Hand him over, or your land will fall into ruin!!! ” — over a hidden person the minks insist they “truly have no idea” about, and razed Zou when they would not produce him. This ties the mystery-island samurai-hunt directly to Jack (Kaido’s pirate) and to the same hidden Wano warrior the raiders sought.
The flashback of Jack ’s assault on Mokomo Dukedom crystallizes the seed: the minks let their homeland be razed rather than surrender the hidden Wano samurai . Both kings refuse him — Duke Dogstorm drops his sword and pleads “the man you seek is not in this land!!! ”; the Cat Viper vows “I wouldn’t let a samurai take a single step [off] this island .” A whole nation enduring ruin to shelter one samurai implies a profound, pre-existing Mink–Wano bond, dovetailing with Kin’emon ’s open “find the samurai” quest.
The siege flashback escalates the seed: Jack tortured, gassed and razed an entire nation over five days purely to find a single hidden “warrior from Wano” — and even at full strength could not topple the two mink kings, who refused to surrender the man. The gravely wounded Pedro still pleads only to save the dukes (p. 16). That a Yonko officer would expend this scale of violence on one hidden warrior plants a Chekhov gun converging with Kin’emon ’s standing “find Raizo” quest.
Keeping night watch, the combined crews decide to keep Kin’emon and Kanjuro out of the Dukedom and conclude “the Raizo Kin’emon presses a sentry: “I only seek a warrior known as Raizo ” (p. 17). Dramatic irony — the audience later learns the minks hid Raizo on Zou — reinforcing the seed.
