Summary
On the Onigashima rooftop, the awakened, white-haired Luffy (“Gear 5”) keeps trading blows with the dragon Kaido, who is still trying to classify the fruit’s “last” attack. As the “Doom Dut Da Da” rhythm thuds across the island, the great elephant Zunisha hears it and weeps with recognition — “Oh, Joyboy. Joyboy. How long it’s been… since I heard this rhythm… I cannot help but feel that fate is at work. My heart is dancing.” Luffy declares himself “Monkey D. Luffy, the man who will surpass you and become King of the Pirates,” while Kaido explains that awakening is “what happens when your mind and body catch up to your powers.” Mourning his lost followers and castle, Kaido vows there is “still something I gotta take back” and unleashes Kundali Dragon Swarm; Luffy answers with Demolition Gust, refusing to be drawn off (“All I have to do is beat you!! I left everyone else in charge down there!!”). Below, all of burning Onigashima is in crisis — the towers, the performance floor, the basements — with Nami (and Zeus), Usopp (Green Star: Sprinkler), the Heart Pirates (Bepo), the prisoners, and Killer/Kid all trapped and certain there is no escape unless the island lands. Then Raizo and Jinbei act: recalling how he failed to save Lord Oden’s family from the flames of the burning Oden Castle twenty years ago and swore never to let it happen again, Raizo invokes Ninpo: Scroll-Scroll Jutsu — “The Elephant’s Bath” and releases the vast Water of Zou (drawn from Zunisha’s bathwater, half a world away on Zou, where Dogstorm marvels at the deluge) — “Restoration!!!” Jimbei catches the flood with Fish-Man Jiujitsu (“Water Heart” / “Ocean Current Shoulder Throw”) and drives it through the entire castle, flushing out the fires and saving everyone (“We’re saved!! It’s water!!”). But the rescue exposes a new disaster: with Kaido still alive and weakening, the flame clouds keeping Onigashima aloft are failing — and “Onigashima is going to fall!!!” onto the Flower Capital. The cry goes up that Momonosuke, in dragon form, must make flame clouds — “it’s always been the only solution.”
New reveals
- Kaido’s definition of awakening (p. 4): “AWAKENING is what happens when your mind and body catch up to your powers!! And those are certainly ridiculous powers!!!” — a general/Zoan characterization distinct from the earlier Doflamingo “affect objects” account.
- Zunisha recognizes Joy Boy from the rhythm (pp. 2–3): on hearing the “Doom Dut Da Da” beat, the elephant says “Oh, Joyboy. Joyboy. How long it’s been… since I heard this rhythm…” and feels “fate is at work.” First present-day, direct Zunisha → Joy-Boy beat (1044 was filtered through Momonosuke).
- Raizo’s scroll can store and release the “Water of Zou.” “Ninpo: Scroll-Scroll Jutsu — The Elephant’s Bath / Restoration” floods Onigashima with Zunisha’s bathwater carried from Zou (pp. 12–13, 15), extending his Ch. 992 “scrolls can wrap around anything” ability to a stored flood.
- Jimbei directs the flood with Fish-Man Jiujitsu — “Water Heart,” “Ocean Current Shoulder Throw” — channeling the released water through the whole castle to extinguish the fires and rescue everyone (pp. 13, 15).
- Raizo’s redemption (pp. 11–12): in flashback he failed to protect Oden’s family from the flames of the burning Oden Castle 20 years ago — “I failed Lord Oden that day!! But I swore never to let that happen again.”
- The Onigashima-fall threat re-escalates (pp. 16–17): the fires are out, but Kaido’s survival/weakening means the flame clouds won’t last; the island will fall on the Flower Capital unless Momonosuke makes flame clouds.
