Summary
Atop Zou, a mink storyteller finishes recounting the five-day siege the island endured: Jack — a one-billion-berry “underling of Kaido” wielding an ancient model of the Eleph-Eleph (elephant) Fruit — landed with a zombie-army of reinforcements and demanded the minks surrender “the warrior from Wano.” When the minks refused, Jack tortured and crucified them, then on the fifth day unleashed a poison-gas weapon that immobilized everyone and wiped out all who hadn’t reached the fortress. On the sixth day Jack abruptly departed — the minks later learned from Jack’s obituary in the paper that he left to rescue the captured Doflamingo, meaning the very people who truly saved Zou were the Straw Hats, who beat Doflamingo at Dressrosa. Bepo is revealed to be a mink and a Zou native (“I might be a pirate, but this’ll always be my hometown”). Meanwhile the rest of the crew — Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Brook, Momonosuke and the captive Caesar Clown (forced to carry them up the elephant’s leg) — reach the gas-choked, ruined dukedom, where Brook freezes a band of Jack’s leftover men (“Ice-Burn!!”/“Soul Parade!!”) to save a tortured squirrel-mink. A dying mink begs them to save Duke Dogstorm and the Cat Viper before introducing himself: Pedro.
New reveals
- Jack — first appearance: an “underling of Kaido,” bounty 1,000,000,000 (1 billion), the minks call him “Master Jack.” (p. 2)
- Jack ate an ancient model of the Eleph-Eleph (elephant) Fruit — an ancient Zoan (the specific ancient model is not named on-page this chapter). (p. 3)
- Jack laid siege to Zou for five days searching for “the warrior from Wano”; tortured/crucified minks, then deployed a poison-gas weapon that immobilized the island. (pp. 6–10)
- Jack and Doflamingo “must be bound by some deep connection” — Jack left Zou to rescue Doflamingo from captivity; the Straw Hats’ defeat of Doflamingo is what ended the siege and saved the minks. (p. 11)
- Bepo (of the Heart Pirates) is a mink and a native of Zou — fought in its defense. (p. 4)
- Pedro introduced by name; begs the crew to save Duke Dogstorm and the Cat Viper (the minks’ “two kings”). (pp. 16–17)
- Caesar is being forced to carry the Sunny group up the elephant’s leg by gas-flight. (p. 12)

Open questions raised
- Who is “the warrior from Wano” Jack razed Zou to find? (Ties to Kin’emon’s quest.)
- What is the full nature of the Doflamingo↔Kaido “deep connection”?
- Who are Duke Dogstorm and the Cat Viper, the minks’ “two kings”?
- What/who is the colossal living creature Zou sits upon (its leg the crew climbs)?
Cultural / linguistic note
- The minks’ speech uses -gara forms: “Yougara” = you(-people) (p. 11, 16), “Themgara” = them (Jack’s people, p. 16). Pedro asks the crew “You’re not with… Themgara, are you?”
