Summary
On Zou’s back, the Mink Tribe throws a riotous welcome feast for Luffy and Zoro, who struggle with the minks’ aggressively physical affection (“mink-timacy”) and the dog minks’ habit of “chewing” and calling those they love “corpses.” Brook arrives, having read of Dressrosa in the papers, and gathers the “Zou-comers”; he warns everyone never to say “samurai” or “Wano” here, as it would earn the minks’ hatred — and asks where Kin’emon is. Pressed by Robin to explain the missing eleven days, Nami narrates the vanguard group’s ordeal: heading away from Dressrosa, she, Sanji, Chopper, Brook and Momonosuke ran into the Big Mom Pirates’ giant singing ship, crewed by Capone Bege (now affiliated with Big Mom) alongside Pekoms and Tamago, who were hunting a terrified Caesar Clown. Unable to use the Gaon Cannon without Franky or Usopp, the group fought (Sanji’s “Poêle à Frire,” Nami’s “Rain Tempo”/“Weather Egg”) and escaped via Coup de Burst in self-made mist, reaching Zou the next day to find the mink city already destroyed roughly ten days earlier. Robin confirms the catastrophe traces to about two weeks ago, and that the vanguard’s arrival and Chopper’s skills saved every mink in Mokomo Dukedom from dying without hope. News then breaks that the comatose Duke — Duke Dogstorm, King of the Day — has finally awoken and wants to meet his saviors; mink doctors Miyagi and Tristan rush in, Bepo reunites with the Heart Pirates, and the group is led into the forest where the King of the Night, the Cat Viper, holds sway after sundown.
New reveals
- Zou is the home of the Mokomo Dukedom, the mink nation, and “this land has two kings”: the King of the Day, Duke Dogstorm (Duke of Mokomo Dukedom, long in a coma since the city fell) and the King of the Night, the Cat Viper (page 15).
- Capone Bege (“another member of the Worst Generation”) has affiliated his group with the Big Mom Pirates (page 9).
- Pekoms and Baron Tamago — the two Big Mom crew the Straw Hats met at Fish-Man Island — are aboard Big Mom’s giant singing ship, and the crew is hunting Caesar Clown, who is terrified of being caught (pages 8–9).
- The mink city was mostly destroyed ~10 days to two weeks before Luffy’s arrival; Nami’s vanguard group + Chopper’s medical skills saved “every last mink in Mokomo Dukedom” from dying without hope (pages 12–13).
- Mink culture: aggressive physical affection (“physical mink-timacy”), dog minks “chew bones” and call those they cherish “corpses” as a term of endearment; minks don’t eat furred animals (pages 2–6).
- The duke, Duke Dogstorm, has awakened from his coma; mink doctors Miyagi and Tristan introduced (pages 13–15).

Open questions raised
- Who destroyed Mokomo Dukedom roughly two weeks ago, and why?
- What is the painful history between the Mink Tribe and Wano/the samurai that makes those words taboo?
- Why is Kin’emon not yet at Zou, and where did Momonosuke go?
- Why are the Big Mom Pirates hunting Caesar Clown, and what does Big Mom want with him?
- What befell the Duke (Dogstorm) — “what he went through” — to leave him comatose?
