Profile

Master doctor and lighthouse keeper at the Grand Line’s east entrance (Twin Cape). Currently caretaker of the island whale Laboon, whom he subdues with tranquilizer-cannons when the head-ramming becomes life-threatening. Greets visitors via a fully-itemized vital-stats self-introduction (Ch. 103 p. 4: “My name is Crocus. I’m the keeper of the Twin Capes lighthouse. I’m 71, a Gemini, and my blood type is AB.”). The competence/affect-pair (doctor + lighthouse + eccentric old man) is foreshadow-loaded — future chapters will reveal his prior-crew-affiliation with the Roger Pirates.

Lives in a quaint cottage with a lighthouse-tower behind it on a small palm-treed island at the foot of Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape — see Ch. 102 page 16 establishing wide-shot). Has artificially modified Laboon’s interior into a habitable corridor with iron doors (Ch. 102 page 19 reveal) and a painted-sky personal-resort diorama (Ch. 103 p. 5).
