Summary
On the side of the Skull Dome, Big Mom — climbing toward the rooftop with Perospero — insists that allying with Kaido was her idea, and Perospero hastily agrees. Marco intercepts the pair, mocking that Whitebeard’s “remnants” have hardly “lost their way.” He releases the surviving Whitebeard crew and the Mink contingent from any lingering obligation to Pops’ will (“dead men give no orders… everyone who’s left is free!!”), and Carrot peels off to avenge Pedro, declaring she knows who she saw. Marco waves Luffy onward. A cutaway to a banquet hall inside the castle — Black Maria’s quarter — shows a haunting shamisen ballad conjuring a dragon that bleeds straight into Kaido’s roar on the rooftop, where the Nine Red Scabbards press their assault. Their attacks are visibly hurting Kaido, who is baffled: none of their styles resemble Oden’s blades, yet they still cut him. A memory reveals the retainers each refused to learn Oden’s Two-Sword Style, keeping their own. After Raizo wraps and returns Kaido’s Blast Breath and the others land Sulong and specialty strikes, Kin’emon and Denjiro charge with Oden Two-Sword Style; Kaido derides the “cheap imitation” and begins to explain “ryuo,” only to be struck by their “Paradise Totsuka.”
New reveals
- Big Mom is climbing the side of the Skull Dome toward the rooftop with Perospero; the Kaido–Big Mom alliance is reaffirmed as Big Mom’s own idea (pp. 3–4).
- Marco intercepts Big Mom and Perospero, formally freeing the Whitebeard remnants and the Minks from Whitebeard’s will — “dead men give no orders,” “everyone who’s left is free!!” (p. 4).
- Carrot breaks away to avenge Pedro, declaring “I know who I saw!!!” — pointing her at Perospero, who died alongside Pedro on Whole Cake Island (p. 4).
- The Nine Red Scabbards’ coordinated assault is genuinely wounding Kaido — the Beasts crew is stunned that “Master Kaido” is taking so much damage (pp. 11, 15).
- Kaido cannot understand it: “None of these attacks bear a resemblance to Oden’s blades!! …so why can they cut me?!” (p. 13).
- Memory: Oden offered to teach his retainers his Two-Sword Style; they refused, each keeping his own style, lest they fight to be his foremost disciple (p. 16).
- Kin’emon and Denjiro nonetheless charge with Oden Two-Sword Style and land “Paradise Totsuka!!” on Kaido; Kaido begins to lecture about “ryuo” before being struck (pp. 17–19).

Open questions raised
- Will Carrot reach Perospero, Pedro’s killer?
- Can Marco hold off both Big Mom and Perospero alone?
- What exactly is “ryuo,” and is it the principle behind why the Scabbards’ non-Oden styles land on Kaido?
- Is the combined Scabbard assault enough to actually fell Kaido?
