Summary
Off the southwest coast of Whole Cake Island, the Sanji-retrieval team takes the Thousand Sunny underwater in its submersible form (the Shark Submerge III, Channel 3 of the Soldier Dock System) with Brook at the helm, slipping up a river toward Big Mom’s castle. Brook and Pedro intend to break off and infiltrate to bring back a poneglyph rubbing, with Pekoms’s warning fresh in mind, while the others plan to rendezvous with Sanji and Pudding. Landing on Big Mom’s sweets-made island, Luffy, Nami, Chopper, and the stowaway mink Carrot chase a Sanji they spotted from the mast — but he keeps appearing and vanishing as they push into a candy forest. Everything is edible (cream ground, candy flowers, a donut bridge, a melon-juice river), but the woods are alive and lethal: a clothed talking crocodile dismisses them as “just humans,” fake Sanjis melt away when struck, a mirror-image Luffy with reversed scars taunts the real one, a giant face buried in the ground bargains for apple juice, and the trees speak. The crew’s compass spins and clocks whirl uselessly — direction and time are warped. The chapter names the place at last: The Seducing Woods, whose denizens crowd in to “block the exit” and “play them to death.”

Notable panels
- Cover (p. 1): Title page doubles as the “From the Decks of the World — 500,000,000-Man Arc, Vol. 21: ‘Ruskaina — It’s the Face of Our Beloved Boss’” cover-story installment — the Rusukaina beasts gathered around a rock face carved to resemble their “boss” (the Caribou B-plot).
- p. 2: The Sunny submerges as the Shark Submerge III into “Channel 3”; Brook volunteers to pilot.
- p. 8: The candy-forest gag panel — donut bridge, melon-juice river, edible flowers.
- pp. 9–10: The clothed talking crocodile rears up, then dismisses the crew as “just humans.”
- pp. 11–12: The mirror-image Luffy — reversed scars/accessories, “like a reflection in a mirror.”
- p. 17: Location splash — “Whole Cake Island, Southwest Coast: THE SEDUCING WOODS” — the homie-forest closes in (“Block the exit! Let’s play with them! We’ll play them to death!”).
Open questions raised
- What is making the Seducing Woods alive — the talking crocodile, vanishing Sanji copies, the mirror-Luffy, the buried bargaining face, the talking trees?
- Was any of the “Sanji” the crew saw the real Sanji, or all copies?
- Why does the forest distort compasses and clocks?
- Can Brook and Pedro reach a poneglyph and make the rubbing before the woods trap the rest of the team?
