Summary

As the Straw Hats flee through Big Mom’s territory toward Cacao Island, Carrot — transformed into her pale, ferocious Sulong form by the full moon — single-handedly devastates the pursuing Big Mom Pirates fleet, leaping ship to ship and tearing away their wheels. The lion-mink Pekoms explains the Sulong transformation: when a mink stares into a clear full moon it calls forth the wild memories of its subconscious, granting “Moon Lion” power, but a mink who cannot control it loses self-control and will fight to the death, harming everything around it; Carrot, nearing the loss of consciousness, notes the only way back is to hide one’s eyes from the moonlight (a hat, tinted glasses, or just shutting them). Brook joins the fray, light enough to run across the water and steal enemy wheels — “a double-edged sword that consumes one’s own life.” In the pursuit, Charlotte Daifuku unleashes a genie summoned from his own body to attack Carrot, but his whole fleet is swept aside and he goes “down for the count.” Meanwhile Perospero realizes the kingdom-saving wedding cake (Pudding’s) is riding on the assassins’ ship and so “can’t be trusted.” On that ship Bege argues to pack the cake with poison and explosives; Sanji flatly forbids it, betting his cook’s pride on beating Big Mom with flavor, and feeds Bege a taste of his cream that drops the don “dying of flavor.” Pudding and two of Bege’s cooks faint from the sugary scent. As Big Mom’s ~8-hour craving fit wastes her body to a gaunt, nimble monster, she reclaims her homies Zeus and Prometheus, orders Napoleon to “change into your blade,” and descends on the Thousand Sunny screaming for her cake — the crew bracing to abandon ship.
