Ch. 987 — p. 19 — the Minks’ ace primed at scale on Onigashima
The Minks’ “hidden ace” surfaces again at scale: warriors brought from their kingdom to the Dome Roof, full moon overhead — Sulong primed for the rooftop battle. (Already status: confirmed @0889 — appended as continuing corroboration; status untouched.) (Page 19)
A deliberately withheld Chekhov’s gun for the Minks as a race — an undisclosed power that lost the first fight against Jack only “because of that dirty weapon” (the gas). The two kings frame it as something to be revealed in the next battle.
Ch. 886 — page 17 — the full-moon tease aboard the Sunny
Aboard the fleeing Thousand Sunny , Carrot asks Chopper whether tonight will be a full moon — “will be a full moon? Do you think tonight…” (p. 17). A deliberate, deniable tease at the Minks’ undisclosed racial power on the eve of a full moon — a pre-payoff Chekhov tell.

Ch. 888 — pp. 10-17 — the “true power of the minks” surfaces on-page
The “ace” is shown to be Sulong : under a full moon a mink becomes a white-furred, red-eyed “Moon Lion” of vastly amplified power. Carrot demonstrates it against Big Mom ’s pursuing fleet, routing Daifuku ’s ships, and the beat ties directly back to Zou (the withheld “true power of the minks”). Ch. 889 — p. 4, pp. 12-13 — the “ace” is named and its rules explained
The withheld “true power of the minks” is named on-page as Sulong, the Moon Lion , and its mechanics are spelled out by the lion-mink Pekoms : a clear-full-moon trigger, the “wild memories that lurk deep within the subconscious,” strength scaling with the moon’s cycle/weather, the loss-of-control failure state, and the eye-shielding reversal. Carrot wields it to finish Daifuku ’s pursuit fleet (“Guillotine!!”). Why this matters
A textbook chekhov-explicit seed: Oda has a character announce that a hidden power exists and promise its reveal in a later fight. When a One Piece character explicitly withholds a “true power” against a stated antagonist (Kaido’s forces), that power is being banked for a future payoff.
