Summary

The Egghead aftermath ripples outward. On Big News Morgans’ WEJ balloon-ship, Princess Vivi — alive and traveling with Morgans and Wapol — refuses to be cowed as the World Economic Journal prints the lie that “Emperor Straw Hat Luffy murders Vegapunk” alongside the post-Egghead Emperor clashes. At the scene of the battle, the Marine fleet lies asleep and foaming at the mouth; Kizaru reports to Fleet Admiral Sakazuki, and a flashback reveals that Borsalino and Vegapunk were close friends across decades — from their first meeting (Vegapunk: “Have you ever killed a close friend?”) to Vegapunk showing Borsalino his planned future, Egghead. Kizaru, devastated, lashes out at Sakazuki’s doubt and quietly apologizes (“I’m sorry, brother…”). Aboard the giants’ (Dorry & Brogy’s) ship fleeing northeast, the escaped Straw Hats and Bonney mope: Luffy is so depressed over Vegapunk’s “death” he has only eaten five bunches of grapes. The lone rescued satellite, Lilith, wakes, cries that they failed to save the old Vegapunk she’d promised to protect — then turns it around: by the Vegapunks’ shared identity, “it is only death by your concept of it,” they’re all alive, and Luffy did keep his promise. Luffy revives, a giant promises Robin she can reunite with Saul at Elbaf, and the ship throws a feast as it charts a course for war-land Elbaf, home of the giants — where a dark figure stirs.
