A Paramecia-class Devil Fruit eaten by Wapol. Named on-page in Ch. 131 by Chess:
“He’ll devour you with the power of the Munch-Munch Fruit!!!” (p. 16). Lets the user eat
anything — metal, wood, rope, even an entire ship — chewing through solid material without
harm. In Ch. 131 Wapol is shown eating a knife, the Going Merry’s rigging, an anchor-rope,
the hull, and biting Luffy. The chapter establishes only the eat-anything baseline;
forward-canon the fruit also lets the user fuse what they eat into new objects/forms and
self-cannibalize (Wapol House March, Big Pannier fusion-bodies). First on-page Drum-arc
Devil Fruit.
Ejects swallowed allies as a single fused multi-being officer (Chess + Kuromarimo merged into one body with stacked heads). First on-page Devil-Fruit-induced multi-being fusion in the series.
Wapol’s name for the self-cannibalize fusion-process — eats his own body to rebuild it. The Ch. 146-147 Munch-Munch Factory name is now re-applied to a self-directed mode: Wapol triggers it to eat himself when no other food is available.
Self-cannibalize-and-re-form: Wapol eats himself, reduces to a hollow bucket, then re-emerges as a thin, tall, long-haired physique. “My miraculous physique restoration technique!!”
The fruit’s body-fusion technique-name — “incorporate them into my body” (refers to the planned human weapon weapon-fusion form; named but not yet executed).
Full-body bazooka mutation. Final-escalation tier of the Tongue Cannon. Caption: “HOW ABOUT VICE KING?”.
Awakening
(No awakening on-page as of Ch. 150 — the fusion-body mode is a regular fruit technique, not an awakening.)
Power limits & weaknesses
Universal sea/water weakness (Devil Fruit rule).
Eat-and-fuse mode confirmed on-page (Ch. 147): inanimate objects fuse into Wapol’s body to become Wapol House.
Self-cannibal mode confirmed on-page (Ch. 147): living subordinates can be eaten and fused into a multi-being construct (Chessmarimo).
Combinatorial upper-limit unbounded as of Ch. 147 — two-person fusion shown; multi-person ceiling unknown.
Lore & theories
A Paramecia body-as-grotesque-power Devil Fruit. The Ch. 131 demonstration installs the
eat-anything baseline; the fuse-and-recreate / self-cannibalize mode — the fruit’s defining
feature — is on-page canon as of Ch. 147, where Wapol declares ‘the true power
of the Munch-Munch Fruit’ and demonstrates three named techniques on-page for the first
time (Mutation, Factory, Miraculous Fusion = Chessmarimo). Ch. 136 prefigured this:
Wapol’s architecture-scale ingestion of village houses (p. 5) graduates the eat-anything
baseline to eat-buildings; the Twenty Doctors reassembly of his decapitated head
(pp. 7-10) is the first on-page demonstration of his self-disassembly/reassembly mode.
Ch. 147 then closes the loop: the eat-and-recompose-self axis is now extended to
eat-and-fuse-allies-into-a-multi-being-body — the first on-page Devil-Fruit-induced
inter-character fusion in the series. Cross-link Nature of Devil Fruits for the
broader DF-classification framework.
Forms / Modes
Munch-Munch Factory (Ch. 146, named only) — Wapol’s escalation-tier mode of the Baku Baku no Mi. Surface power not yet shown on-page. Forward-canon: a fusion-and-recreation mode where Wapol can combine objects he has eaten into new forms. See Wapol Munch-Munch Factory Body-Modification Mode Foreshadow.
